Great location

Loved the area. The lodge is close to the beach, quaint shops and very good restaurants. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, and we appreciated the pure cotton linen. Our unit was bright and airy and had its own sunny patio.

The kitchen area was cramped and rather makeshift. It took some effort from our hosts to get some appliances to work. A flimsy sliding door leads from it to the shower/toilet, which is rather intrusive . Unfortunately this area needs a makeover. It did appear that there was another larger unit at the front of the property, which was probably more comfortable.

Unit 3 of 4 I would not recommend

The location was great, very close to all town amenities. It was clean, the beds were very comfortable, great fridge and the airfryer was very useful.

The unit was poorly maintained with doors that were difficult to open, one door to my daughters bedroom randomly jammed completely and the handle was in danger of coming off completely. The whole unit has an air of shabbiness and when I spoke to the people managing it I was told "this is Africa" my response is come on Africa you can do better. The master bedroom floor covering was a tripping hazard and the scruffy glass panel bathroom door with a coating of paint was awful. I realise this was an inexpensive unit but really not acceptable.

Home away from Home

The property is just a hop and a skip from the beach and located in a very friendly neighbourhood. The staff were welcoming and pleasant, and the kitchen was well equipped with nearly everything needed for self-catering. The beds were also very comfortable, making for a relaxing stay.

We occasionally noticed some creaking from the ceiling boards, were a bit unnerving. Towels were a little limited for the length of our visit and number of guests; however, when we asked, the owner kindly provided an additional set right away. The water pressure in the shower varied at times, but overall the experience was still comfortable.

I think the place should not be recommended. on Booking.

The fact that I could find a place to sleep even though I booked very late because of unforeseen change of plans on the road.

On arrival, there was a big cockroach in the kitchen, the host killed it and cleaned the floor with a paper towel. In the morning, there was another cockroach in my suitcase that I had left open on the floor since there was no other place to put it. The tiles in the bathroom were soiled with what seemed to be the remains of dead cockroaches. I cleaned myself with toilet paper and liquid soap.

Reception is not clearly marked. There wasn't a choice of teas available. Just the very basics. No soap, in the basin or shower, no shower gel or shampoo provided. Towels were adequate but basic. No beach towels, DSTV not available. No aircon.

It was lovely ☺️ peaceful clean and well equipped.

We were a family and we appreciated the extra toilet for the boys but a small shower for them would have been lovelier. WIFi also had its snags.

Absolutely peacefull and enjoyable weekend

The host was very hospitable and gave us a free upgrade which we appreciated as it was my husband's birthday. We did not book for breakfast so I can't rate it. The rooms and bedding were clean and comfortable. There should be a heater in the room in winter. The crockery and cutlery were sufficient. The whole area is very peaceful.

I liked the central location. The unit size is good. King bed was nice.

On arrival we noticed the garden is neglected. Some of the doors are a real struggle to open, close and lock. We noticed the walls of the unit is dirty. The wifi had no internet connection.

Home away from home, with amazing beach walks on your doorstep.

I recently stayed at Paternoster Place with my boyfriend for 5 days and we had a wonderful time. The location was excellent and Justin, our host, was extremely accommodating and made us feel at home. Overall, it was a great stay and we would definitely recommend it to others.

Quiet and off the road. Spacious and comfortable. Walking distance to everywhere.

Location was perfect - walking distance to everything, shops, restaurants, beach. Bathroom had shower and bath. The guest toilet was great to have (so two toilets). Gas stove and kettle (for the gas stove) made loadshedding easier.

There are two single beds in the lounge. The mattresses and pillows were not as premium as the main bedroom. There is a light in the lounge that goes on automatically when the power goes out (loadshedding) but if you're sleeping in the beds in the lounge, the light wakes you up. Then we had to climb on the dining room chair to unscrew the loadshedding light. I'm sure the host would not have thought about this, if they haven't slept in the lounge. One lamp in bedroom and one in lounge were not plugged in because the cables were too short. So I have to move them to awkward positions to get low lighting.
