We walked in and out at the very moment we entered.

The place was dirty and smelled of smoke, we walked in and out and let the woman know that the stairs was a problem. I would not recommend this property to anyone who loves cleanliness. The walls are disgusting and looks like someone had smoked inside for years.

Beachhouse with extra,s!

Lovely stay in a beautiful pittoreske village at sea. Accomodation was everything you can ask for. Close to the beach, nice walking area, pool and braai. What is there not to love. Sure it’s a little out dated but that’s the whole chant of these villages and dito houses. So if your looking for modern, high class and sterile, this is just not your place. The host and staff made our stay memorable.

Enjoyable Stay

Property was well located close to the beach. Bed was very comfy and towels were provided for the bathroom. There's a lovely pool in the courtyard which you do share with other Guests. TV had a good selection of channels which was good. There are plenty of restaurants nearby most guests drove to them but you can walk. As a lone traveller with my dog I always felt safe. My dog thoroughly enjoyed the beach. Property was very clean upon my arrival and the Host Huibrecht who was very pleasant, answered any questions/queries expeditiously.

Walls were thin so you could hear your neighbours. You do have to bring all your own condiments etc food, cooking oil, salt, pepper, coffee, milk etc but for myself it wasn't a problem. And restaurants are nearby.

Upstairs unit not ideal!

Lovely sized bedroom. Loved the partial seaview! Excellent service!

The kitchen of the upstairs unit is not whst I would call fully self catering! Small, cramped and no dishrack 😩 Having said that, 2 other issues where promptly resolved by our host. Thank you!

Well located and easy access

Unfortunately cleanliness of sheets was a problem, the kitchen was completely unstocked, and the mattress wasn't very comfortable. At this price point I was a bit disappointed.

The pictures are a true reflection of the property. Check-in and check-out was really convenient.

The location was perfect - quiet and relaxing and a lot closer to the beach than we expected - just across the road. The swimming pool was clear and clean. Solar powered which meant no loadshedding - yay!!

There's something amiss with the wooden floor on the window side of the bed - the creaking of the floor and shaking of the mirror and wardrobe when you moved to and from the bed and bathroom annoyed me no end. Some rules you are only informed about AFTER your booking is secured.

Die Opstal, the hidden Jewel

Absolutely everything. The accommodation had all the necessities needed for an enjoyable weekend away without having to pack too many things. The bed was luxurious and the fact that it was solar powered meant that we were not affected by loadshedding in the slightest. The pool was perfect and the setting contributed to a very serene and peaceful break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. 10/10 will definitely be visiting again.

The commitment to sustainability is evident at Die Opstal, with the entire place powered by solar energy. This eco-friendly approach adds a unique and commendable aspect to the accommodation. The private swimming pool, a shared amenity among the five apartments, provided a refreshing retreat on sunny afternoons. The thoughtful design and layout ensured each unit maintained its sense of privacy. The thatched apartment, where I stayed, was a cozy haven. The room is well-suited for couples, featuring a comfortable bed that guarantees a restful night's sleep. The rustic charm of the thatched roof added a touch of authenticity to the overall experience. Die Opstal's location is ideal, just a brief five-minute stroll to the beach. This proximity allowed for spontaneous beach visits, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the coastal setting. I wholeheartedly recommend Die Opstal for a memorable and rejuvenating getaway.
