We had the most wonderful stay at The Boathouse — it truly felt like a home away from home. The house is beautifully cosy, thoughtfully equipped, and every detail made us feel welcomed and cared for. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that all our needs had been anticipated.
The garden is nothing short of magical. Surrounded by lush greenery and serenaded by incredible birdlife, it felt like a private sanctuary — peaceful, rejuvenating, and deeply restorative. Whether enjoying morning coffee outdoors or simply soaking in the quiet, it was the perfect retreat from the bustle of everyday life.
We left feeling refreshed and grateful, already dreaming of our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort, nature, and a touch of serenity.

Perfect. Out of the books. This is one of our favourite spots to visit. The Boathouse is a sanctuary for our family to escape the city and enjoy the tranquility of Veldrif. The house has everything you need and is super comfortable. Our dogs love to run around in the spacious yard. We also enjoyed a little fishing and birdwatching in the huge tree in the yard as well as down by the water. The indoor braai was fantastic and the dart board provided us with hours of enjoyment as well. Lots of great suggestions from the host for spots to visit as well. Thanks Andre for having us. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful location and amazing house with everything you need and more for a self catering stay including extras to make life easier with a 'home away from home' feel. The owner is EXTREMELY friendly, accommodating and helpful. Very comfortable beds and ample extra blankets, towels ect
Beautiful house for 1 family (or friends/family that you are close with), living area lovely and large but can be challenging with only 1 indoor bathroom/shower and large open plan loft that is split into 2 sides. We had no issue with this as the people we traveled with are very close friends.
