Beautifully designed house close to the sea

The interior design of this property is amazing. The view of the ocean spectacular. The property is well equipped with everything you need to make your enjoyable.

The only thing that was not pleasant was the alarm of the holiday house next door that was continuously going off( but thanks to the Stay in Paternoster team a technician was called and it was sorted). My improvement suggestion: upon checkin explain to guest how to open the white shutter door 🙂

Milky Way stay

I was very close to the beach. It had a dishwasher.

The towels in the upstairs bathroom had a stinky and moldy smell. There was no cloth downstairs to clean up and wash dishes with that we didn't want or couldn't put in the dishwasher.

We enjoyed our stay overall.

Location is good, very close to the beach. The accommodation was comfortable with all the basics.

The bed in the second bedroom was really uncomfortable and squeaky. No bath mats in the bathroom. The outside area becomes very hot and there is no shade so you can't sit outside. It needs an umbrella or shade port.

Disappointed with what was advertised and what we got

Location and hot shower

It was not like the pictures as advertised. Stained sheets, bad smell in the house, holes in the covers on couches, bed is very old and uncomfortable, door knob at gate falling off, front door damaged and rotting at bottom, windows not clean, pathway full of weeds and overgrown flower beds, garden unkempt and has junk in it. One towel really old and thin, blinds in down stairs room damaged and look terrible, roll blinds in upstairs room don’t have pulley strings so very difficult to open them.

Maintenance on the property was shocking, The unit smelled like smoke and overall the cutlery was dirty and the unit was left dirty. The agent renting the unit did nothing to rectify on complaining about this

I will not go back to milky way

Location was good

Where to start. The bin in kitchen had a foul smell. The couch in living room was dilapidated, dirty, unhygienic. Had cigarette burn on it. The bed in main bedroom highly uncomfortable. My husband slept in a hole. The mattress needs to be replaced. The upstairs patio door could not close or lock properly. The seating in the lounge was inadequate. The place is meant for one couple with small or younger kids. Place not suitable for 4 adults. No soap or complimentary shower gel in both bathrooms. 50 ml of dishwasher for 4 days with 4 adults sharing a place where crayfish 8s is the main attraction. 2 toilet rolls for 4 adults for 4 days. We have been to paternoster 3 times in the past 18 months. We have stayed at Phoenix and Aandster, but this stay was just plain unacceptable. The pics were misleading. You should take it down from the website or take new pictures that actually shows prospective visitors the real deal. It shows a deck on the second floor with a braai. That is not the case. The braai in living room was dirty. The seating is not suitable. The kitchen is I'll equipped. I do not recommend this place at all. A bad experience and definitely money not well spent.

Relaxing but cockroaches were a problem for us.

Comfortable

Need salad bowels, couldn’t use big frying pan as it is rusted. Needs to be fumigated, hardly slept, at night there are baby cockroaches everywhere, on walls by upstairs bedroom. Especially behind the headboard. Never had this problem with our first stay.

The upstairs bedroom was lovely, bar the door leading to the balcony , which needs some serious work or complete replacement.

Light weren't checked prior to arrival and some were not working. The downstairs bathroom.had no lights working at all. A difficult situation for elderly people.

Superb

So close to the beach, it was lovely to see the sunset! Electric blankets were a lifesaver for winter nights and the bathtub upstairs was lovely way to unwind! There was satellite TV so we could watch the game and motoGP :)

The bottom bathroom didn't have toilet paper and the light did not work. There was no basics like salt/sugar for a self-catering unit.

We enjoyed the quiet location and close distance to the beach.

The kitchen is a bit sparely equipped and the top next to the basin very small and old. We missed some basic spices, matches and candles. Even though we only stayed 2 nights, simple things like Toilet paper or dish washing tabs are somewhat tightly calculated.

Acceptable but overpriced

Unit was clean Was on a nice side of town Short walk to the beach

As this unit is not serviced and does not have a washing machine it is not ideal for long stays. Weber provided was broken. No inventory of items so no way to check that breakage deposit would be correctly calculated. No provision during load shedding, no generator, or torches, or Invertor. The unit is very cute but not particularly comfortable. It was exceptionally clean though and a very short walk to the beach although no view of the sea unless on the balcony of the main bedroom where there is no furniture.

We enjoyed the break away from Cape Town but not sure I'd book again.

My friend and I really liked the fact that it was a self-contained cottage with 2 double bedrooms with one upstairs. The beds were comfortable and the linens clean. Only a stone's throw from the lovely beach to go for long walks and beautiful views. We visited 5 restaurants for brunch and dinners and enjoyed them all. We found the Paternoster people really friendly and chatty. Overall, we enjoyed the break. The security company are really good and it made us feel safe.

The cottage had everything that was needed but the shabby chic look is rather tired and needs refurbishing. The lounge seats are really uncomfortable to sit and watch TV. Everything that is used on a regular basis is clean like crockery, pans, bed linens and towels but sorry to say it needed a good clean underneath. The lampshades are really dusty, all the woodwork needs cleaning and the bedside and bathroom mats needed washing. The kitchen sink and cooker area had lovely copper fitting that were sticky and would look beautiful polished. We also thought the stairs would be better with a handrail and the 2 bedrooms needed plug outlets that you could get to for your hairdryer and cell and laptops.

Nice but small for 2 couples.

The location was lovely and very close to the beach although there is not much of a sea view. It is a quaint unit. The dishwasher was a real bonus! When we reported the lights not working and the downstairs shower drain was blocked, it was dealt with very efficiently for which we were very grateful.

Although it is a self catering unit, we found it slightly ill equipped for self catering. We found the pots and pans available for self catering were not adequate - to make some Jungle Oats or to keep the meat in with a braai. There was no real space to store groceries and the kettle area to keep tea and coffee etc was very small. We only spent 2 nights there so we could manage but if you were to stay longer it would be a real challenge.
