Gezellig

The property was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable for a group getaway. We loved the different entertainment and outdoor areas, especially having multiple spaces to braai and enjoy a fire. It was a great place to spend a weekend with friends and had everything we needed for a relaxed stay in Paternoster.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but there were a few small things that could have made the experience a bit better. The braai had unfortunately not been properly cleaned after the previous guests and was still full of ash, and there were also cigarette butts left in the fire pit. We also found that the key from the garage into the house wasn’t correctly labelled, which caused a bit of confusion when we arrived. It would also be helpful to mention in the listing that there is a Nespresso machine available. We weren’t aware of this beforehand, and there were no pods provided, so we weren’t able to make use of it. Even just a couple of complimentary pods on arrival would be a nice touch. There are also three different areas where guests can make a fire, but no wood or firelighters were provided. Even a small starter supply would have been a really nice touch, particularly given how much the house lends itself to braais and fires. Lastly, there weren’t really any basic kitchen staples such as salt and pepper. These are all relatively small things individually, but having a few of these basics taken care of would make the house feel considerably better equipped and make the overall guest experience that much more seamless.

We struggled to find the right keys for shutters/doors. The tags abbreviations was not clear.

Very well equipped and good location

The place is in serious need of maintenance…it doesn’t look like the pictures anymore. Floors, walls & windows are damaged. Parts of the house were not clean and unusable. The braai is damaged and inconveniently located behind the house.
