Happy Boutique Hotel - Grand Place

It was a pleasure to stay there. Thank you Sophie! We felt welcomed. Our hostess met us and shared good places nearby. Room was clean. Location also very good. Breakfast was good but I personally would add some meat to sweet stuff :-)

Nice breakfast and good service when we took breakfast. Good location for sightseeing and citywalk at Brux. Also, it's easy to use train if we want to travel to other cities.

1st, it's not so good for the guests who has heavy luggage, while this house has no lift. And the stair was too nallow to climb，if you took 28feet case with you. 2nd, it's noise in night as the room at street side. Hard to take good sleep for relax. 3rd, almost no service except breakfast: i sent message to the house manager to complain the problem of lights in my room. But no feedback at all.

Staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed for our stay. They communicated well and ensure we had all the information we need to ensure a smooth check i . Breakfast included bread and croissants with home made jam and marmalade which was delicious. Location was good, close to the Central Station.

A fabulous friendly host and delicious breakfast. The room was full of light delightfully put together. The feel of the spaces was modern but warm, with just a dash of tradition. The collection of bande desinee downstairs in multiple languages was great fun.

Clean and comfortable. Very good location for easy access to the Central station and attractions. Sophie, the host is very nice and provides us many good advice in my visit. The breakfast she prepared for us is delicious.

Sophie was exceptional. Wonderful bed. Perfect location by the Grand Place and the Brussels Centraal train station. Great breakfast for 15 euros.

No air conditioning and stuffy but we could open the windows and run a fan. With the windows open, it was very noisy.. Tight stairs and no elevator.

The guesthouse was situated a short easy walk from all the main attractions in Brussels, was very comfortable and our host, Sophie, was very friendly and helpful and gave us excellent recommendations for local restaurants.

Overall excellent value for money for a night in central Brussels. Great location close to train station and key land marks. Communication ahead of check in from host was excellent. Clean modern room and facilities exactly as pictured, liked the minimalist design and wood, it’s a clever use of space.

Stairs. we were tired when we arrived after 12 days already in Europe. Nothing that the place could do. It was part of the charm.

Sophie is extremely generous, with outstanding suggestions and directions for enjoying the city. Her breakfasts are exceptional- delicious, with a wide range of choices of local and homemade products. The place is extremely well located.

Sophie is exceptional. She is courteous, helpful, communicates effectively, has wonderful patience, and is a consummate hostess/manager and people person. She was VERY responsive when we texted her before, during and after our visit. She gets a 10+ for all her help. We stayed 2 nights. The morning we left for an early train, Sophie had a limited but substantial breakfast made and brought it to our room the night before. We told her about our awful UBER experience arriving and the high cost of setting up an UBER pickup appointment for the next day. She made us aware that UBER charges significantly more for appointments; and instead, to call in the morning for an UBER for better rates. We did this and saved 16 euros. She also tried to help us use a better route to get to the guesthouse, before meeting her. Breakfast was very good. Bed was very comfortable. Cleanliness was good, as was the WIFI. Location was also very good, conveniently close to so many things, but away from touristy areas with noise.

The spiral staircase is issue to be dealt with, depending on your health, or expectations for a effortless trip to your room. For us particularly, this, as well as a very small bathroom had a negative impact on our stay and our overall rating. As many others have noted in their reviews, older or handicapped people, and even people who have a problem with physical exertion may have a problem with the staircase. We certalnly did. We are hikers, and pretty healthy for our ages, lower and upper 60's. We travelled with two backpacks and two bags we have to check at airports. We stayed on the 3rd floor (60 steps up and 60 steps down). As narrow and steep as it is, and as shallow as the steps are (I wear a size 12.5 shoe), going up and down took a lot of effort and focus. It was certainly a workout we didn't look forward to coming and going, even without the effort required in maneuvering suitcases. During our vacation, we managed many spiral staircases without the level of strength and effort required here. We simply shouldn't have to work that hard to get to our room, and leave from it. Concern and caution to those who don't have the ability to do so. The bathroom is TINY. The sink is the smallest, shallowest sink I think I've ever seen. It holds little water and even washing your hands can spray water on the floor. My wife would occasionally hit her brush on the wall behind her when brushing her hair. Taking a shower requires putting towels on the floor to avoid getting most of the bathroom floor wet. A tiny bathroom, may not be a deal breaker for most. But for us, both our expectations and needs require a bathroom size more comfortable and effortless to use. I think this place is best suited to fit, agile travelers with minimal luggage … which would have been me, once upon a time. Everthing else about the Happy Guesthouse was very good, with Sophie being exceptional.

wonderful Host and homemade breakfast each morning

The breakfast was excellent and suited my individual taste.

The stairs were a problem for anyone with knee, age related or mobility issues, and unfortunately I couldn't see any indication of this in the advertising material on booking.com. The road noise was a massive problem also, which took several nights for me to adjust to, therefore my 7 night stay was devoid of much sleep. Other than that, it was a clean, delightful property suitable for the 20 - 30's age group, who were not very tall. Unfortunately, too uncomfortable for tall men, and people who have problems with stairs. The host, Sophie was a delightful and helpful person. I met Matilde also, who was lovely.

The room was very nice and the hotel was centrally located. It's a smaller boutique hotel with only three guestrooms, which was very nice. Breakfast was incredible!

Since this hotel is centrally located and Brussels is a fun nightlife city, you may hear people out and about through the evening.
