Very nice hotel and super location, walking distance to the city centre. Big room with a nice bathroom. We could leave our suitcases to go explore after check-out.
The floor was very creaky in our room on the 2nd floor, which must have been noisy for the guests in rooms below us. We arrived late, and it was not possible to be quiet in the room due to this. Also, the mattress was a bit hard /springy, and seemed ready for a replacement. For the price we would have expected a better quality mattress as a good night sleep is really the most important thing when staying in a hotel.

Quite beautiful establishment, in excellent location (close to the train station). Large room, nicely furnished. Decent check in process. Overall, decent price/quality ratio. Recommendable.
Limited room service (limited food options).

Only because of my health condition, struggling with stairs was an issue

Unbelievably spacious room with small but functional refrigerator (I can keep 3 litters of milk, juice etc, plus some veggies and cheese), a microwave.
I think our rooms used to be apartments. So it has separate kitchen room (but not functional except microwave /electric kettle/ nespresso machine/ sink), big living room, corridor, separate toilet, bath tub room with 2 sinks ( no toilet), and end of corridor was master’s bedroom. My 2 daughters had similar settings too.
Spotless clean, friendly & helpful staff, and my daughters enjoyed using gym.
Location was in between Royal art museum (on top of hill) and old town, and Gran Place is just behind the hotel (that’s how I felt it).
So we went around without any transportation.

Only had breakfast one morning, it was fine. There was work going on outside of our window during the weekdays, this did disturb us a bit, especially first thing in the morning but it wasnt something we wanted to make a fuss about.

Location is excellent, very close to Grand Place, just a few minutes from Central Station. Despite being so central, the hotel is very peaceful and no intruding noise. Staff were very friendly at check-in/check-out and the processes were smooth. The room was good, bed comfortable, plenty of wardrobe space. The bathroom was spacious. It only had a bath with shower head, I know for the next time to request in advance a room with shower.

Location was excellent, walking distance to train station and square. Room was large and very comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Building is bigger than it looks from the street!
Possible to get lost inside the building!

The room was amazing - it was very spacious, with a cosy den which incorporated a sitting area and the bathroom. Great location, just steps from the central train station, in a busy area but very quiet inside the hotel.

Great location. Beautiful old building very tastefully decorated throughout with art works, ceramics and paintings. Very comfortable bed, quality linen. Easy access within a few min walk from Brussels Central station.
We could not make air conditioning unit working as there was no operating instructions in the room but staff offered to come to room and to sort it out.

The location was great, in the center of Brussels but peaceful and quiet inside. The room was very comfortable too, spacious and beautiful, and the AC worked great during a very hot weekend. Metro/train station was also quite close We did not try the breakfast.
Nothing really

The room was very spacious and the location was excellent.
The staff were indifferent. The ambiance was cold and unfriendly. The room felt old but not in a charming way, in an uncomfortable way. Just a bit drab and sad.

Great location and good room
Tea, coffee and milk was one of each which was no where near what I would call sufficient

The design was great and the suites named after famous Belgian painters were certainly a nice touch. The room we stayed in was very spacious, authentic and the same time very fresh with minimal signs of wear and tear. Despite having a very boutique feel the hotel still offered such facilities like a small gym with an elliptical and running mill as well as some light weights.
Only if I’m being very scrupulous, the hotel felt slightly understaffed and a simple request like bringing an extra set of shower gel and shampoo took half an hour to fulfil. Me and my wife went out so we didn’t feel the delay, but should we have needed it quickly that could have been an issue.

Lovely hotel very close to the train station (5 minutes walk with luggage) and within a few minutes walk to all the shops and restaurants.

To be fair, I will start with the positives. The hotel is located in a very central area of Brussels, just a few meters from Place Central and a short distance from the main train station, which is very convenient when arriving or departing from the city to the airport by train. The area is incredibly touristy, and you generally feel safe despite the crowds. You have the option to leave your luggage there after checking out and collect it when you need to catch the metro to the airport. It has a beautiful lounge where you can sit and enjoy a coffee while preparing for your outings. Overall, it is clean and well-maintained.
The problem started with the listing of the various bedrooms on Booking and the location of the rooms in the building. On Booking, there was the option to book a standard double garden room and a deluxe room or a junior suite. Each of these rooms had specific photos on Booking, so you knew what to expect, at least based on my previous experiences since I travel frequently and use it often.
We had booked a deluxe double room with specific photos, but upon our arrival, we found that this was not the case. We booked it at a higher price than the standard room. When we arrived at the room, we were surprised to find that it was the last room in a long corridor on the ground floor, and from its window, you couldn’t see much at all, with almost no natural light, which created a feeling of claustrophobia and was not at all pleasant for us. It did not resemble the room we had booked based on the photos we had seen.
When I complained at the reception, I was told that the hotel has no deluxe rooms at all; there are either standard rooms or suites. They claimed that the photos in the listing were uploaded by Booking( for the different categories) , not by them, and that they pay a high commission to Booking,... and therefore, i felt as a guest who didn’t book directly, I was considered “unwelcome.” Unfortunately, they couldn’t do anything about it since there were no other available rooms and ALL the standard doubles are on the ground floor.
We had a discussion about this topic, which I understood was a frequent issue with Booking customers, as guests often expect one thing and receive another. However, since it made no sense to continue the argument, and after all, it was not the fault of that particular employee, we stopped.

Perfect location in beautiful building. Historic. Very tasteful and calming for a such a central hotel. Good value too. We loved it.

Proximity to the old part of the city: convenient for sightseeing.
Proximity to Central Station.
Attractively decorated rooms.
Too many stairs - but this is due to the construction of the buildings that make up the hotel, so impossible to do anything about them.

Very central location, but quiet within, we had a junior suite, stylish, king size comfy bed, enjoyed the breakfast, helpful staff, we had a bottle of house champagne before going out one evening, ice cold & very nice/reasonable, looked after our suitcases for a few hours after checkout

I didn’t have the breakfast. My husband and I are vegan and generally paid breakfasts don’t work for us because of limited vegan choices
The first time we stayed there July 7-9, we got a fabulous room in the newer section. Large room, comfy large bed, coffee machine, big shower etc. The second time we were there just a few days later we initially got a really tiny room (I was told later it was because we had requested twin beds…), no coffee machine, small bathroom (I was touching the heating radiator while using the toilet!!, and the person above us kept stomping around all night long! But they did move us to another room when I asked but it ended up being a queen bed which creaked a bit…. We had paid almost the same as we had the first time, (the difference was only a few euros per night), I would have expected a better room like the first one we had. But the staff is very helpful and obliging and you really can’t beat the location!

Absolutely everything. The service was attentive but unobtrusive, the building and decor itself is beautiful, and the location is ideal.
I have been to Bruxelles four times and this will be the place I return to.

Outstanding place. Booked a suite and very much met expectations throughout. Excellent breakfast, great location, would stay again. The staff were excellent - even asked if we were travelling by plane because of disruption at the airport (we weren't thankfully) but they were good enough to enquire so they could assist us if needed. Really good service.
Nothing really, was a bit on the pricey side but got the value out of the suite. Can't fault it!
