Having read some awfully unfair reviews,I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of my little ensuite room.On a low budget ,it was basic but a wee warm haven of personal space and comfort.My breakfast was delicious- eaten with a sea view.The staff were so so friendly and welcoming, it felt very homely.

I cant usually afford to stay in hotels,so I liked everything! It was very much value for money ..but so homely and safe for a lone traveller.

Disappointing

I had been told before travelling to the hotel I could get a continental breakfast to take to my room. On arrival I asked the lady in bar/reception and she said she would speak to her manager. No-one got back to me to let me know either way. Luckily I had taken some food in case there was a problem.

Disappointing and quite basic everywhere.

The young lady on the reception was welcoming and helpful.

The bedroom was in poor repair. The decorations were poor and there were cracks in the ceiling. Also the coving around the ceiling/wall showed signs of water ingress. The shower and toilet were in a small cupboard whereas the wash basin was in the bedroom. There was no lift and the stairs were steep with a door between the top step and the landing.

Breakfast staff were really friendly. Reasonable prices in the bar.

Having stayed several times in the past I thought I knew what to expect. The non cleaning of the room, unless you asked for tea, coffee, bin to be emptied etc due to covid really was a joke as we never saw the sign until our return on the 2nd evening. Shower was also a joke very little water pressure.

Great base with great facilities and staff very helpful and accommodating. On site parking on th front of an amazing base In Oban with access to all the islands. Great weekend made even better with the weather. Will DEFINITELY be back

We only stayed one night but that was enough. The room smelt like perfume to mask smoke smell. The carpets felt dirty and it was very dusty and small.

Location with parking.

Very uncomfortable bed. Room smell. No shower water pressure. Venue live music started 1030pm on Saturday night. No wifi. TV didn’t work. Little ventilation and had to shut window due to people smoking on street outside. Otherwise place was great!! Would not recommend staying here.

Friendly welcome, dog friendly, clean, good location about 5 mins walk to town, great view over the bay. Bed was comfortable and clean. Budget.

Its all a little bit tired and old fashioned, portable heaters in bedroom, breakfast was ok but not great, car parking limited, immediate area a little down at heel, hated the smell of stale fags at the main entrance where the ashtray has been put. No tv control. Slamming corridor doors needed adjusting.

This could be a really nice hotel with a lot of investment

The staff were lovely and the breakfast was one of the best we have ever had. They recommended somewhere for us to eat that evening which was good. This hotel has a lot of potential because of the size and position but it needs a lot of investment in it. It was the breakfast and the staff that made our stay

There were lots of stairs and corridors at this property and no lift, so for elderly and disabled people, particularly carrying luggage, it was very difficult. One of the staff did give a hand when we arrived by taking one of the cases up for us. The beds were not comfortable at all and the one in the single room was more like an old fashioned stuffed mattress with no support/springs. The Tv in the single room was not watchable from the bed, which was the only place to watch it from because of the angle - the picture was blackened. If you had a drink in the bar downstairs, the toilets were also up stairs. The smoking area was right by the entrance to the hotel and we had to pass through each time we left the hotel and also where we were sitting having drinks, which was the only place we could sit at the time, meant every time the door was opened we were hit with a blast of smoke
