Clean, comfortable reasonably well equipped

No hanging space

The location is nice, right across from the park and close to the canal. The apartment has been renovated in an interesting way that gave us spaces to be together and apart. The beds were very comfortable.

Communication with the owner was poor. We were told that checking in earlier than 4PM was "impossible" but that we "might" be able to store our bags there starting at 2PM. When I asked where I would find the keys to do that, I received no response. We arrived at 2PM to find that the place was empty and had been cleaned, so it was possible to check in early. There were only 4 towels in the whole place for 4 people for 4 days - no hand towels for the bathroom, no dish towel to dry dishes. My husband and I shared a towel so that a towel could be kept in the bathroom for washing hands. When I contacted the owner, they didn't reply until the next day, and only to ask which property we were staying in. After I replied with the address, I never heard from them again. I later discovered that there were towels left in the washing machine, then smelly having been left damp for several days. There was no detergent to re-wash them. There are several things that need attention in the apartment. The entertainment console is not securely fastened to the wall so much that we were afraid to put anything on it for fear of it falling off. The drain and stopper in the ground floor bath won't stay open and drains very slow. The door handle to this bathroom is broken and stays shut only by the tight fit of the door in the frame. The curtains on the living room windows have largely been torn from their rings. After repairing these items, there are suggestions for making this place great. There is no place to hang coats, so hooks between the front door and the bathroom door would be helpful. The floor looks like wood but is actually tile and is very cold for stocking feet. The tiny rug under the coffee table could be replaced with a larger area rug so that dirty shoes can be shed and feet can be warm. The two chairs in the living room are simply kitchen chairs and not comfortable for sitting very long, better chairs with arms would be better.
