Worst experience ever

The only good thing about this place was the location

This was by far the worst place I have ever stayed. They call it an “aparthotel” just because they squeezed in a tiny kitchenette with a miniature bar, which is completely misleading. The photos shown on the Booking page are a complete scam and do not reflect reality at all. They also lie about it being suitable for two people. This is not an apartment , it’s an extremely small and uncomfortable room. There is absolutely no space to organize or store your belongings. You can’t even walk comfortably around the bed: the space between the bed and the wall is so narrow that only one person can pass at a time, and even then you have to walk sideways. Due to the extremely limited space and the lack of room to walk comfortably, my partner’s coat was torn after catching on the sharp edge of what they present as a dining bar. If you are traveling with luggage, run away from this place. There is literally no space to open a suitcase. To make things worse, you have to carry your luggage up two floors with many steps, which is completely impractical for anyone traveling with bags. They should change the listing and label this place as a room, not an aparthotel, because the description is deceptive.

Comfortable stay, good location!

The location is great, very close to Republique metro station + a lot of restaurants nearby. Easy access to the building and the room even when it is not manned by any staff. Facilities in the room are good, love the fan built in with the ceiling light in each room - we always like it cooler in a warm room :) Staff are very responsive, even checked in with us when we hadn’t arrived at the apartment (due to a delayed flight).

No lift but understandable as it is a really old building. The size is not an issue, still comfortable for a family of four. Toilet seat is small, even according to my child.

Dear Booking.com,, I am writing regarding my reservation Upon arrival at the accommodation, we encountered serious issues that made it impossible to stay, even for one night. The room had an overwhelming and unbearable smell, and the curtains were torn, allowing light to come in and offering no privacy. The accommodation was completely different from the photos and description shown on Booking.com. Due to these unacceptable conditions, we were forced to leave immediately, in freezing weather and snow, which caused significant inconvenience, stress, and additional expenses. The accommodation was clearly uninhabitable and misleadingly advertised. For this reason, I request immediate cancellation of the reservation, a full refund of the amount paid. I have photo evidence and screenshots of our communication with the property and can provide them upon request. Great apartment in a fantastic location. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely apartment in a great location. This was our first trip to Paris and we weren't sure where exactly this was but it was just a two minute walk from the Place de la Republique. The Eiffel Tower, Louvre and all the major attractions were just 10 minutes on the Metro and Place de la Republique was bustling with a great selection of shops, restaurants and boulangeries. Even though we stayed in December, it was unusually warm and so the ceiling fan was invaluable. The breakfast box was the highlight of the morning though. Bread, pastries, fruit and fresh peach juice which is my all time favourite and so hard to find in the UK. Had all the amenities we needed for a long weekend.

It took me a little while to figure out how to turn the heating on, although we only needed it once. However, the hosts were super responsive and so if I hadn't have worked it out myself, they were easily contactable by phone, text or email.

Just across the street you god good bakery and market too. Apartment was clean and very cozy. We had bed linen and towels change during our stay.. We didnt know that we have soap, body shower which is great.

the location is good but the over all stay is below average as the pain of going up amd down the steep stairs. this acco

there is no elevator. I was close to have a heart attack in carrying all our luggages up in the top floor. the might have mentioned it but I did not realized that the stairs were so steep and put us in the top floor and there is no assistance provided. they need to tell that this accomodation is only intended for back packers or couples with no large luggages. this is not ideal for family especially if you have all these big luggages to carry on top of the floor.

Great location. The bathroom and kitchen were proper clean and the bed was very comfortable. The area was fairly quiet during nighttime although there is lots of nightlife nearby

The towels seemed a bit old and worn. To get to the room, you have to get through multiple doors with multiple codes. There are barely any signs, so you definitely need to follow the instructions sent to you carefully.

Great location. Bit fiddly in advance not knowing when the code would arrive. Well equipped kitchen which would have been useful had we stayed longer. Good shower.

The air conditioning was a law unto itself. So we opened the windows instead, on what was quite a warm night and thank goodness had a good night's sleep. No mosquitos.

Location was fantastic, I liked that the shower and toilet were separate. Beds were comfy. Had an iron. We didn’t meet any staff however we didn’t have an aircon remote the first night and it was sorted the next day very efficiently

Very poor recommendation from Booking.com

Nothing at all

we were disappointed by the condition of the apartment. We have booked 2 2-bedroom apartment, but the apartment is just two beds separated by a wall with no privacy. We were a mix of male and females, and there was no space for changing clothes. We have lost our privacy completely, and comfort is nowhere. I have asked the property regarding the size of the apartment and the price they have collected, and they said it matches the description when we booked. I can see that Booking.com has no mention of the sizes of the rooms they provide in the booking confirmation. It is truly disappointing that Booking.com supports this kind of misleading of guests on their website. The rating should be even lower so that other people will not fall into this trap. I will submit a review with photos to prove this. I can see that why their cancellation policy is this strict, as they know they can't get enough guests if they publish real details. The cost is a complete rip-off to book here for 3 nights, and when we asked the property if they could arrange another room for at least 2 of us, they refused, stating we can book somewhere else again. The bed linen was dusty, and the internet was way too slow. truly disappointed at Booking.com for supporting this kind of business

It was okay, but could've been better.

Thanks for the whole stay, at the beginning everything was very good. The communication was well and the staff was helpful but after check-in we started to have problems starting with the cleaning. Our room pretty much looked like how it was shown in the pictures. Yes the rooms are small but if you are not gonna stay all day it is okay. Overall, it was okay and the location is really nice since it was close to metro and so on.

We were informed that due to cleaning staff running behind their schedule we had to check in 2 hours late. Luckily, we agreed on checking in an hour late. But since we checked in late we were promised to leave before 12 pm not 11 am. So we went for a last minute shopping, when we came back around 10:30 we could not enter our room with the code and all of our luggages got locked inside the room. We tried to reach out to facility but got nothing luckily we communicated with the cleaning lady through google translate and she opened our room. Still it wasnt a good experience and the hallway was so hot we could melt. Cleanliness of the rooms were questionable but we didnt mind too much since we werent in the room all day. Shower is a problem as stated in the previous comments from other guests.

Worst accommodation in Paris

Nothing.

To begin with, this isn't a hotel, but rather a lodging within an old building with poor finishes, which was refurbished to accommodate several rooms within the apartment. It's not a 3-star accommodation either; I can probably only give it 1 star because of the "pool" that forms in the shower after showering, as the water overflows on one side because it has no curtain or door. The hard bed is like a cot that creaks when you move, and there are only 2 pillows and 2 towels provided for the 4 nights of our stay. We weren't given the room shown in the booking photos; instead, I was given a 3x2 room, and I struggled to get into the bed on one side, as the wall on the other side is 10 cm from the bed. This is a complete scam, and I was a victim of clickbait. Had I known the terrible conditions of the room, with no air conditioner either, I wouldn't have rented it, especially not for the price I paid. The photos you show in the post of smiling people in a room that looks like a breakfast nook and a studio, and others showing pool cues hanging on the wall, DO NOT EXIST. It's a terrible place to stay in Paris. Please be careful and look for other REAL options.

Building structure old, smelly. Facilities inside the apartment was limited beyond expectation. No space for suitcases, dinning area is hardly an area and cannot be considered to sit, overly limited space wrt kitchen. Cannot wash anything at all, no AC, no bathroom fans…Not suitable for family. Will be just enough if one has backpack as provided cupboard shelf is small.

There wasn't any space to put luggage, we had to move the beds towards the wall so we could leave our suitcase on the floor and have enough space to walk. The WC sink didn't work properly and the water stayed in the sink. There was lots of dust on the surfaces of furniture. The extra toilet paper was dirty.

The property was clean and efficient, had everything we needed for a 2 night stay in Paris. There was 4 of us and we were comfortable, had enough room and didn’t feel on top of each other

The directions were misleading, but we found access quickly after reading a previous review left. Once entering from the main entrance on the street, go through the door on the right and up the staircase.

Generally good apartment block but could use some tweaks

Generally good and Comfortable apartment in a good location needed for work. I’ve stayed in this block twice and this time the toilet didn’t smell of sewage, like most other apartments in the Marais area. Though the first apt did.

WiFi good but not great. No password so probably being used by many people. The full details for entry have not been given either time I’ve stayed. Three different codes are required to enter the building, the apartment block and the room. The block code was not given correctly. I had to contact management to give it. Also, underneath the toilet clearly hadn’t been cleaned - dried urine was left. Heating is constantly on in the apartments, so if it is cold but not freezing temperature outside it is impossible to cool the apt. Fans are provided but these are next to useless. Heat not a problem this time as it was -4 outside so turning off heating in my room was sufficient to cool.

No breakfast. The shower head didn’t mount to the wall as the bracket was broken. And the bathroom smelt quite disgusting as there’s clearly a leak from the shower that has been going on a a while. The property doesn’t feel that secure. The door to WS can easily be pushed open and once or twice our apartment door opened when we were there. Luckily we were as I shouted ‘hey’. It doesn’t feel that secure and I worried about leaving things there while we were out.

Disappointing

Location wasn't too bad and most of the facilities were passable for a short stay. A little small for 4 people but alright for using as a base for exploring Paris. Didn't spend much time in the apartment.

The bathroom had no ventilation - no window or extractor fan - and smelled awful throughout the stay. Couldn't tell whether it was sewage or damp due to lack of ventilation. Everytime we showered the floor would also get soaked.

The location was great in a quiet neighbourhood but with lots of transport options. It was small but handy and the beds were very comfortable.

The staff wasn’t in the property, but we didn’t have any problems and they asked very quickly to all our questions.
