Very recommendable!

The boutique hotel, very clean and quiet. We enjoyed this peaceful atmosphere away from the city hustle and bustle. The staff were very polite and friendly. Despite a fair distance from the very city centre (4.5 km) we enjoyed refreshing walk along the seashore on the promenade stretching to the centre of Malaga.

Our room was a bit too Small to stay fully comfortably.

Pretty good stay, but

It was nice looking house with the pool.

but the room walls was letting the noise through. I was hearing the singing of the reception, some water noise sewage noise and people movement on top came from the ceiling. The windows was with wooden frames that was opened inside next to the pillows near to my bed and it was really uncomfortable to sleep like this. The bathroom door was swollen due to moisture. Overall it was quite modern.

Great place, but we were unlucky

The place was great, nice rooms, nice personel and great localisation close to the beach.

When we came to apartment it was really hot in it and we could not breathe there so we asked the personel to turn on the air conditioning while we went for a dinner and walk around. After we came back the reception was already closed and the air conditioning broke in a way we could not turn it off so with only blankets to cover yourself in the night and airconditioning set to 16-18 degrees celcius we felt like we were sleeping naked in an igloo.

Charming, beautiful and comfortable boutique hotel

Absolutely adored this gem of a boutique hotel and I will be back. The reception team is so lovely and gave genuinely warm hospitality. The grounds are beautiful, it's a gorgeous villa with nice gardens in a beautiful area near the beach. The room was stunningly decorated and very comfortable. I had a great rest there. I loved lounging by the pool.

A perfect stay!

Excellent location - only one block away from the beach with bars and restaurants, my favourite being Las Acasias. Is on the main road into the centre of Malaga for taxis and straight bus route - easy to get to the action in town, but easy to get back to the relative quiet of the Pedregalejo neighbourhood. The hotel was a calm oasis behind an admittedly noisy road! Friendly and helpful staff - thank you! The room was small but perfect for my needs - comfortable bed, useful aircon, powerful shower in the en-suite. Would definitely stay here again!

A nice place if pre planned

Very good beds.

Booking.com lists this property on its hotel filter. IT IS NOT a hotel. We were allowed to make a booking at 11PM on Booking.com, but there was no access to the property when we arrived 20 minutes later. Very difficult to contact the manager. Very difficult to check in. Many calls including to Booking.com itself which was of no use.

Fun pool.

The staff was very nice. The pool was great with nice options for refreshments. Easy walking to a very and active part of the town with many restaurants. Lots of small beaches to choose from if you get there early enough.

Our original room's AC wasn't working so they changed our room. This was very nice of them. AC was essential for our stay. Parking was very difficult. Street was super busy, just to be aware of.

Exceptional hotel with lovely swimming pool and gardens in a central location.

This amazing hotel recently opened in the Pedregalejo district of Malaga and is just outstanding. Ten minutes walk from the beach front and conveniently located on the main road through the town. Free parking can be found in the residential streets nearby if you're lucky. Originally a mansion built in 1914, the hotel has been lovingly restored. Pleasant and informative real human-being at reception making a welcome change from door codes and empty buildings. The swimming pool is a good size and the gardens are gorgeous. The beds were really comfortable too. One of the best hotel stays we've ever had and would definitely book again.

La Moderna is a fantastic hotel that far exceeded expectations!

La Moderna far exceeded our expectations - it's a fantastic hotel! Our room was well designed, bright, and airy. The pool was ideal and never too busy, with plenty of loungers and seating to choose from. The staff were lovely, always helpful and willing to recommend places to visit and some great restaurants nearby. The location is spot on: just 20 minutes by taxi from the airport, a short bus ride into town, and only a 5–10 minute walk to the beach.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like, we had a fantastic stay, but a couple of things to be aware of. The hotel sits next to a road, so you’ll hear traffic noise when you're by the pool. It didn’t bother us at all, especially with headphones in. As it’s an older building, the walls are a little thin. We could hear the neighbour’s alarm clock, for example. That said, the hotel encourages quiet in a really friendly way, and during our stay it was very peaceful.

May trip

Staff at this hotel are so accommodating and friendly. They are a big asset! Offered a kettle for the room, and pool towels are available to hire. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here. The location is ideal for the beach and the bus into Malaga town centre. A taxi from the airport was approximately €25 with Uber. The grounds of the hotel are lovely. It is spotless! I liked the fact that the hotel is only small. I am not keen on huge complexes. We used the pool facilities and the sun loungers were very comfy. The pool was cool but nice and refreshing when the weather was warm. I stayed with my mum for 4 nights, and we made use of complementary tea and coffee, water, and ice.

The location of the hotel is good, but you should note it's on a busy road, so there is a lot of traffic noise almost all day. There is air conditioning at the hotel, but the duplex suite that we stayed in was still warm, especially the bedroom upstairs.

Nothing short of excellent!

The staff were so kind and helpful but also left us to ourselves, we had a late flight home and they left us stay on the grounds all day! Provided facilities such as showers etc too if wanted The room was perfect, very clean, massive bed and comfy. Pool was small, but perfect for a dip! Spacious area out back also by our bungalo

Easter week getaway

The rooms were lovely and clean, little coffee nook upstairs you can help yourself too which we didn't know prior to check in. The colleagues were so friendly and helpful, gave recommendations or directions when we asked and were very encouraging of us speaking Spanish to them (we were practicing, so not perfect) the location was amazing, 5 mins from the beach. The loungers and canopy were so comfortable. Never tried the pool as it wasn't heated and was quite cold in the shade but it's a decent size.

The only thing I didn't like that i didn't know before booking, maybe I misread when booking, but this is a silent hotel. Signs everywhere saying be silent. We're pretty quiet guests, not big drinkers or party-goers but we had a speaker on volume 5 when getting ready to go out at 4pm and was told we needed to turn it off so that was a little annoying as it wasn't loud and was a reasonable time of day.

Perfect, little hotel for a relaxing stay in Malaga!

The property was wonderful! Gorgeous room, relaxing pool and tea/coffee area was a great plus! It is slightly out of the centre but there are buses on your doorstep which a quick and cheap! The staff were lovely and with only a handful of rooms this hotel feels like a boutique, tailored holiday! Thank you - I will definitely return in the future!

Buena ubicación en Pedregalejo. Diseñado con muchísimo estilo. La piscina es una enorme ventaja en la zona. Habitación amplia, cómoda y muy limpia. Un hotel boutique ideal en la zona.

Supuestamente el desayuno empezaba a las 8am. Me he ido del hotel a las 8:10am y no había absolutamente nadie del personal y la zona de desayuno cerrada. En las FAQ aparece que hay una máquina de café pero me ha sido imposible encontrarla. Si llego a saber que no puedo ni si quiera tomar un café hasta 10 minutos de distancia del hotel, no habría reservado.

Muy recomendable

Lo recomiendo para pasar unos días de descanso y conocer la ciudad. Buena ubicación a 5 minutos caminando a la playa del Pedrajejo, bien conectado con autobús al centro 15 min. El alojamiento es fantástico, muy bonito, confortable y nuevo. En cuanto a la atención del personal un 10, el señor que atiende el desayuno muy atento y agradable, nos hizo los huevos revueltos al momento y no paró de sacarnos embutidos, dulces... después nos indicó que ver de la ciudad, igualmente con el personal de limpieza, pedimos una mantita y la chica no tardó nada en dejarlas en la habitación. Lo recomiendo 💯

Por mejorar, nosotros tuvimos una habitación familiar para 4 y el sofá cama, donde dormían dos personas adultas, era bastante incómodo, duro y pequeño, quizás bien para niños pequeños.

Las habitaciones que dan a la entrada: se oye un poco de ruido de la gente que entra y sale, está claro que depende mucho de cada persona que abre, si es más o menos respetuosa con el resto del hotel (a la hora de abrir y hablar, arrastrar la maleta… )

Cogimos la habitación de 4 y estuvimos super agusto. El personal super amable en todo momento, nos facilitaron muchísimo el check-in y el check-out y son super agradables. El desayuno nos encanto, la chica que lo preparaba muy simpática y servicial...todo un 10 la verdad! Muy recomendable!

We kregen gratis upgrade naar een hele luxe suite met bad. Het was schoon en fris en medewerkers waren vriendelijk.

De badkamer was in een soort aanbouw waar tape op de ramen zit tegen de inkijk. Dit maakte het wat onafgewerkt.

De medewerkers doen hun best om alles naar je zin te maken maar ik zou helaas niet meer terugkomen.

Het is een prachtig gebouw wat is omgetoverd tot hotelkamers. Het hotel ligt ongeveer 12 minuten rijden vanaf Malaga centrum. Het ligt aan de rand van Malaga vlakbij een strand. De accomodatie ligt aan een drukke weg. Het zwembad bevindt zich aan de voorkant en daardoor is het erg lawaaiig. Je kan niet zo lekker liggen in de zon want er staan voor veel hoge bomen. De tuin aan de achterkant is prachtig, mooi bijgehouden en een fijne plek om te zitten. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk!!

De kamer was niet heel hygienisch. Er was een groot bed aanwezig. We hebben een upgrade gekregen. De kamer ‘junior suite’ wat je op booking kan boeken bestaat niet onder de kamers van moderna, dit bleek namelijk de standaard kamer te zijn.
