I had a lovely stay at the Cumberland Hotel. Mike, the owner, was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The attention to detail throughout the hotel was impressive—everything was thoughtfully arranged, from the plentiful extra towels to the little surprises like sweet treats, drinkable bottled water, and even a pair of binoculars in the drawer! The breakfast was delicious and well-prepared, and the hot shower was just what I needed after a long day. The only downsides were things outside the hotel's control. There was some road noise between 10:00 and midnight due to the busy seafront location, and the beds could have been more comfortable. Still, these were minor issues compared to the overall experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a warm, welcoming stay with great attention to detail.

Great breakfast, great location and host. We chose not to have our room made up. When we came back after a day out a bag on our door with coffee, toilet rolls, biscuits etc left. Not had that before but a great idea. Only downside was the shower. 1 out of 4 attempts over 2 days did we get it to work. Either so hot or so cold couldn’t use it. Room 12.

Great find in Weymouth.Very clean modern room with a very comfortable bed.Very quiet no noise from other rooms.Very welcoming hosts.Loved the balcony great views,close to the train station and bus station.Great breakfast selection and really appreciated the use of the hotel parking permit! Great located bed and breakfast in Weymouth. The hosts are really good and very attentive. We stayed 3 nights and got to see Weymouth and enjoy the town! Oh and the Full English Breakfast they provide is so delicious!

Really really impressed with this hotel, the owners were really friendly when we arrived and showed us to our room which was really nice and clean, with lots of added touches that were unexpected. The view was amazing from the room. Breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and the cooked breakfast was cooked fresh and was really tasty. Could not fault the hotel at all

Great stay at The Cumberland, couldn’t have asked for more. The location is spot on for a weekend in Weymouth with plenty of parking around. Hosts were very welcoming and friendly from the get go. We had a clean, modern and comfortable room. The breakfast and service was brilliant. All in all, ticks all the boxes.

Nice Small Classic English hotel, very welcoming, right on the beach front. Nice room , tastefully done. Was concerned that parking was at the rear of the property on a pay and display car park, but turned out to not be an issue. Had room on top floor, you need good legs to get up the stairs . Excellent breakfast .

This hotel standards proudly in the row on the esplanade overlooking the sea. It is bright and airy inside, and even smells lovely. We had a room at the back of the hotel which was fine as we never requested a sea view. The decor was classy bit art deco all new looking furniture. Bed was comfortable clean white cotton bedsheets. Lovely towels, hair dryer, and a fully stocked tea and coffee tray. Bathroom with shower, and added toiletries beautifully clean. The breakfast was outstanding, cereals, fruit yoghurt etc and cooked breakfast tasty and good quality ingredients. We will definitely be back!

The property was as if it was a five star hotel I did note that it was rated 9.6/10 but I personally would give them a full rate of 10/10 the property is clean the room and breakfast was EXCELLENT I can not false anything and I recommend the property to anyone who wants to stay and take a break in Weymouth

Hotel location was ideal - right on Weymouth beach, close to the town. Staff were friendly and warm in person, though we were disappointed to have had a phone conversation with a very moody member of staff before our arrival, who unhelpfully told us we couldn't use the parking permits advertised when we booked. Disappointing, as nearby parking was one of the key reasons we selected the hotel. As luck would have it, the public car park behind the hotel, though small, was cheaper than the hotel permits! Still not chuffed to have been let down by the hotel. The room was 3rd floor, and small but sweet. Clean other than some flies trapped and dead in the lampshades. Beautiful sea view though - really stunning, even without a veranda. The room was well stocked, and cosy. The main physical downside was our shower was v v small - my 6ft boyfriend had to bend down to wash his hair. It was the little things that let it down a bit - bed was odd, it kept puffing up, lifting our legs in the air? The tv remote rattled and had to be hit on the hand to make it work. One bedside lamp didnt work. The bedside clock didn't work. The sink sometimes didn't clear, and only flushing the v loud masticating toilet cleared it. Very bizarre. Breakfast smelt great but was served a bit too early - we kept missing it!! Would maybe consider coming again if passing through, and the room was a good price.

Very clean & spacious room with great little extras such as body lotion, cotton wool/buds and plenty of tea/coffee etc. Fabulous selection of breakfast options, both hot & cold. The hosts were extremely friendly & welcoming. Great location on the seafront and approximately 5 minute walk from the train station. It might be worthwhile getting the hotel to confirm your room type if booking through Hotels.com as I'd booked a twin room but the hotel advised that they didn’t have visibility of this, so was given a double room instead. This is no fault of the hotel and they were very apologetic but I thought it was worth mentioning. I've stayed here twice now and wouldn't hesitate to return and if you're lucky enough to get a room with a sea view, you honestly won't be disappointed!!
