Not much!
location was fine, the bathroom smelled strongly of damp, the bed was uncomfortable and the room was very hot! No opening Windows. The noise from the pub on the Friday and Saturday night unbearable with very loud music till 1am!
The landlord was unresponsive to a polite question about the house when asked if the downstairs door could be closed to reduce the noise!

Close to shops, beach and harbour.
Given a parking permit to park for free outside the pub. Comfortable bed even though we hardly slept.
We read that some rooms may be affected by noise from the pub so was expecting some noise but didnt expect it to be quite as bad as it was! The rooms are single glazed sash windows and you could here everything inside and outside. We were given the room directly above the bar and after the very loud karaoke finished after 12, the pub customers spilled outside smoking and shouting until gone 1.30.
Finally managed to fall asleep around 2 am but then woken up by seagulls at 3.
It had been raining most of the day and there were puddles of water on the window sills where the windows were leaking. The curtain pole was hanging out the wall on one side. Lots of big spiders on the net curtains. Very small bathroom, shower door hits the sink when you get in. When you opened the wardrobe door, the top drawer opens too as the door isn't on properly.
Cold room as heating wasn't working. Had to ask to get it working and after a couple of hours was still only luke warm.
Shower was only luke warm too and bathroom radiator didnt work so not nice getting out of the shower.
Bed sheets were old and bobbly so not nice to lay on.
Right outside our door there was a big damp patch with crumbling plaster. Booked this place for a cheap weekend away after reading very good reviews but think they must all be from the places they have across the road from the pub.
We booked for 2 nights but went home after the first as we needed to get some sleep!

No housekeeping throughout stay but ran out of uht milk. WiFi and tv's internet did not work. Occasional odour from toilet, likely plumbing related. No extras.

the location was great, very close to everything. staff were helpful with sorting parking for us which was much appreciated. the bed was comfy and the room was a decent size
it was very noisy. understandable as the room is above the pub but there was absolutely no noise cancellation, felt like we were in the pub itself. as it was warm in the room we had to have the window open which made it a lot louder as people were shouting outside. i think if a fan was provided as an alternative to having the window open that would have been great. it also felt as if the floor above us was going to fall through the ceiling. you could heat everything that the people above were doing.

Comfy, quiet, very conveniently located for town/beach/train station. Room (no.5) smallish but the space is well-arranged. Hot powerful shower, good TV, bed was comfy and I slept well. Easy to get in and out - I'm a very early riser so it was good to know I could go out at dawn without disturbing others.
A desk would have been useful, also a shower mat as shower floor was slippery.

Will definitely book again next year.

Great value for money. Staff were extremely friendly and the location was a stones throw from the beach. The owner even upgraded my 2 elderly sisters to a downstairs self contained flat at no extra cost as she finds the stairs difficult

We arrived later than expected due to traffic and we were told that they were expecting us earlier,we asked for 2 rooms near each other and one was further up the stairs than the other one
Rooms were tiny and noisy due to the floor moving when you walked, beds were metal frames and made a noise when you moved about, we were told that there were no music during the week only weekends and we had music on Monday and Wednesday,as we were just above the bar it was very noisy

The room was very clean with a fridge and tea and coffee facilities in there for our convenience, there was also a smoking/vape terrace with tables and chairs on the same floor as the rooms so we didn’t have to go all the way down to the street outside. Location was amazing, train station is right at the end of the road in one direction, beach at the end of the road in another direction and marina at the end of another road. Had an amazing time pub was friendly and not too noisy, karaoke on the Wednesday night but all quiet by midnight. John the owner was very friendly and accommodating even managed to sort us a permit to park on the street right outside the pub. We will definitely be returning.
Steep stairs to the room

Lovely little local pub with rooms above. John the owner is a lovely friendly guy, as are the bar staff and the few locals we got talking to. And it's one of the cheapest pubs in town - only £7 for 2 pints! 👍 Our room was really clean, nothing fancy (which we wouldn't expect for only £58 a night!) but it had a nice compact en suite shower room, a kettle with tea and coffee, plenty of storage and a mini fridge. There's a separate entrance so you can come and go as you please without having to go through the pub. We were really fortunate that John was able to save us a parking space right outside, which was really handy and we were able to park there all weekend. It's a very short walk to the main hub of the town centre and the beach. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again
We'd have preferred a thicker firmer mattress - but we still slept well and felt rested in the morning. The bathroom is very compact, but it's what we would expect and they've done a great job of squeezing a decent shower, a WC and a small hand basin into such a small space. This isn't a criticism, I'm just trying to help manage other visitors expectations 👍

Very clean staff were lovely and helpful and rooms were very value for money and very well located near both beach and parking
If your going on the weekend be warned its loud the windows are paper thin and you will have music well after midnight into early hours which is not ideal if your looking for sleep on the weekend.

Comfortable beds, good room , great staff and pub below, location absolutely brilliant. Great entertainment.
Having to leave.
Tv only 2 channels working but hey we wasn't there to watch tv the entertainment in the bar was far better.

The location was very close to the train station and central to beach and attractions in Weymouth.
The room was not the one advertised in the photographs on booking.com. it was small and not in the best condition. Being a pub it was very noisy until late. Both evenings had live music including karaoke. Not for those who enjoy peace and quiet.

Great location.. close to the station and beachfront. I was well looked after during my stay and I would recommend having a drink or two down in the bar as the locals are just great and interesting to chat with.
