Basic accommodation within easy walking distance of city centre. Good if you want to explore York for one or two nights

Well positioned and clean

Basic, sofa and bed not particularly comfortable. Mattress was thin, cheap foam. Sofa was a very basic ‘clic clac’ sofa bed type more suited to a waiting room than a sitting room. WiFi gave out for most of second day. The unit was also overly hot and the heat could not be controlled by the thermostat, only remotely by the agent. Described as ‘dog friendly’ but is in fact only ‘dog tolerant.’ You have to leave £25 cash if you have a dog with you and on arrival you’re sent a text warning that your dog isn’t allowed on the sofa or bed or you will incur an extra cleaning charge. Which rather begs the question - what is the £25 for? Surely if the dog is only allowed on the floor and the floor is going to be mopped anyway, the £25 is a bit unnecessary.

Well located studio apartment

Lovely studio apartment close to the centre of York. Conveniently located between the city and the University campus and perfect for the marathon route. Comes with it's own parking space which is great. Nicely furnished and well equipped.

The sofa bed was not as comfortable as a proper mattress but that's probably to be expected.

The constant upselling messages offering early checking for a cost, asking to leave money in the property for pets - which we don't have and needing to chase check-in details was very off putting

the key code collection of keys made arrival easy as i wasn't having to worry about traffic delays not having to check in at a set place time to collect keys and ability to leave in code box meant less time wasted departing . I did look at the reviews prior to the visit (that had negatively impacted my choice ) I didn't actually think reflected fairly as they clearly did not reflect my experience I arrived on a very hot day rain by early evening so the beer garden at rear was in use I heard zero noise and I was in on a Friday night/ Sat night. the tv worked i used my phone internet so not sure about wi fi service the house keeping was great as I forgot toilet roll and plenty toilet roll towels washing up liquid tea towels were available none i expected but all i had forgot except towels so that was all great . the size was perfect for two people and the parking was allocated right next to the property and always free given how close to the city wall this property was it was great to stroll out on arrival and explore . for the price comparative to a room this property is a gem find because no sharing bathrooms facilities etc and the cost is well below most available. I chose it specifically as i wanted to avoid on street parking that might not be available even if listed , i was attending a Saturday 10 am graduation and this was easily walkable to York uni although we went by uber due to early arrival to get gown etc so being able to leave a car parked safely this was a massive plus to the property as I dread think cost of 48 hr parking in York alone the blinds are double so you get privacy but light and second blind i didn't experience too much light, the shower is brilliant. given the amount of people that must take up the property it was clean and in good state of repair . very pretty & homely . i didn't notice the bed being particularly hard either .

I am not stating a negative as personal choices or preferences don't really add to another persons choice when selecting personally I think this was a gem find and for the price actually exceptional space & facilities

Well appointed property close to York

The property was clean and comfortable and well located, it was small but was plenty for two of us and had everything we needed. There were plenty of places to eat and drink nearby as well as a large supermarket around the corner. The centre of York was a short stroll away. On site parking was also a plus.

It seemed that the tv could only be viewed if you had your own streaming account, we couldn’t watch free to air. Also contact over the weekend was non existent. We were provided with an alternative contact should we really need it but our queries were not important enough, we just wanted some local information.

York Mouse House

Fabulous location just 2 minutes walk outside the city walls. Nicely decorated, warm, cosy space, which was well equipped. The accommodation is part of a conversion, so you can hear other people moving around, coming in and out. Also, it backs onto a pub garden, so there is the associated noise that goes with that. But it was a perfect spot to explore the city, safe and accessible with a convenient bus stop direct from the station at the pub.

Great location, good standard of cleanliness

Really good location with the bonus of on-site parking, 10 mins walk from the city centre. Lots of local options for eating, drinking and supermarkets.

I had read previous reviews about the light coming through the door window and noise from neighbouring properties/vehicles so went prepared with eye mask and earplugs. I’m also an early riser so wasn’t so much of an issue for me but a curtain across the door would help with the light issue.
