Not a 5 Star feel

The location was directly across from the beach, and the accommodation was clean, cozy.

Negative aspects: There were no laundry facilities just in case you want to book for a couple of days. Take your care pack(bodywash), I was suggested to use shampoo and hand wash as bodywash when these stuff are formulated differently. Shampoo sachets were not 2in1 as most hotels have. Also make note you will have to Use, wash and put away things to it's respective place. Which also conflicts with check out time. Also due to this rule please make sure to wash all your dishes and cups before use for hygiene reason. All dishes outer layers were dirty and had power built-ups. Check-out: The 9:30 AM check-out time felt rushed.

Beautiful Location

The location was incredible - across the road from the beach. Loved listening to the sound of the beach and watching the rolling waves. Clean, cosy, comfy beds, great shower. The sunset horse trek was magical.

No laundry facilities (one should never assume) and did not check this. Had to go to Kaitaia to do washing, was a bit of a mission oh well. Was required to bring own beach towels (not always possible when you’re on multiple flights). Check out at 930am 😢 morning was a bit rushed.

Home away from home

The location was amazing, the home was beautiful, and the host was great. The home provided everything we needed and was situated directly across from the beach. It was clean and tidy, truly feeling like a home away from home. This space allowed my family and me to relax after our travels around the North Island. We thoroughly enjoyed the sound of the ocean and the opportunity to disconnect from the city's hustle and bustle. Should we find ourselves in the area again, we would certainly book this accommodation. We highly recommend it.

Nice location spoilt by the rule book

The location, had a lovely view, it also had comfy beds

Rules there’s so many of them it makes you feel like you can’t relax and enjoy the place. The rules around having visitors is far to stringent they are not to dine there but we did have visitors (daughter her hubby and our Grandson) we had takeaways for dinner and they stayed and dined with us but we felt uncomfortable them being there at dinner time. Actually the owner turned up unannounced about an hour or so after we arrived and came to the lounge ranchslider where the four of us were sitting around talking we feel he should’ve come to the front door and knocked. He supposedly came to pick up a glass that had a crack in it which he could have picked up after we had left, and to explain why the bedroom door had no key, which he could have done via txt, we feel he was just coming to check us out. Also the couches are old and uncomfortable. As much as we liked the location we would not stay there again because you are just not made to feel welcome.

Absolutely stunning location with great views especially at sunset. Unfortunately the list of house rules (more donts than dos) included in the check in instructions didn't make us feel at all welcome. Appreciate this has already been covered off in previous reviews, together with the host's explanation, but I do feel this would be better left for the welcome book and not the check in instructions on the app. Apartment was very basic and functional with no personal touches at all. Furniture and beds uncomfortable. We had to wash the glasses before we could use them. Despite this, when we messaged the host regarding the shortage of towels they responded extremely promptly bringing some round within minutes along with bottles of fresh water

Awesome location, beautiful views of the ocean, falling asleep listening to the waves crashing on the shores. Just what we needed before our kids go back to school. A little R & R and family time!
