This is the one, pristine kiwi bach by the water!

The location is absolutely beautiful. The bach itself could do with a good spruce up. But the spot is so gorgeous that most of the time you don't notice the living space.

This is an amazing space looking right up the harbour!! Always somethjng to see and the kids were so excited to see the fish jumpimg in the water!!!I will definately come back!!!

What are beautiful location just looking out the windows and seeing that water and within meters you can walk in it we totally enjoyed our few days that we were there and couldn't believe that everything was supplied right down to tea and coffee.Thank

a wonderful place, right on the harbour, great hosts- went to extra lengths to make our stay memorable. Wonderfully private- could be better advertised in that regard. No wifi. Excellent chaacter place, well maintained.

We arrived to a beautiful property, exactly as described. Place had a very old cottage "look" which added to the experience. Thanks Paul n Linda for giving us the opportunity to enjoy your bach. We hope to be visiting your place more regularly.

Beautiful position on the water

Stunning location on the water, very privileged to catch a couple of Stingrays gliding by at high tide.

We had a fantastic stay couldn't believe how close to the water and so warm and cozy for early spring it was quite windy but house was lovley and warm

Nice small batch. Great toilet lots of room. Very private, absolute beach front. Fireplace works well. Sleepout gets a bit noisy in the rain ! Must go back in the summer.

Great spot bach as advertised had all the bits and pieces - along with the cobwebs !!!- needs some tlc but comfortable enough. Only gripe would be bed linen was not very nice - my sheets looked dirty and i changed them, and pillows need renewing.. we could not access the kayak as none of the keys seemed to fit,

Amazing location, watching the birds on the tidal flat, and the beautiful landscape. Cabin is very rustic, but we enjoyed our stay and had a very relaxing holiday.

The bach is awesome, views and stars are something to see, went out fishing and caught well enough to bring some home, pipis are plentiful.. Thanks Linda and Paul .. by the way we cooked the pork but I’d look at the oven burner We will return as I didn’t get enough time there . Cheers

This is a wee gem of a bach. We absolutely loved our stay. Amazing location literally on the beach, super private and secure. Loved everything about it! Thanks so much for allowing our fur kids to join us, we had such a memorable and much needed family holiday.

I personally think the previous reviews are either bought or bots , because my dealings with Linda has been nothing but a bowl of spew . I stayed at her batch with my wife and 3 kids, unforthcoming property looks like hasn’t had a hug in a century , could easily be casted in a scary movie.. it was raining and it leaked , I was up all night emptying out the buckets.. the amenities were all worned out , bikes , kayak, fishing gear , no wifi and no rubbish disposal. We were there for 5 days. I have travels around the world with and without my family this place by faR WAS THe worst stay.. soon as we left she accused us of breaking the equipments , said we left the place in a mess , like hell Nooo .. we cleaned up the best we could , definitely better than the state we entered in.. she then sent me numerous abuse messages and even threatened to come to my work , as if I couldn’t track her down too if I wanted too .. all in all she was a nightmare and the place is so worned down , view is decent , but it’s not worth the hassle .. . Will keep you all posted if she shows up to my work .. Hope the bloody place burns down . Literally.. How do you let people stay there knowing it’s leaky ?? Especially with kids , Damm coward !! And you knew the kayak was broken , it’s even noted in the previous reviews and your neighbour confirmed it , We were nothing but transparent.. and I hope we meet someday . Creepy B !!

What a beautiful place to unwind and take in the surroundings that this bach provides it its abundance. It was great that phone contact was limited to having to go outside to gain reception. The bach was located which offered you views of stars at night and a panoramic ocean view right from the main bedroom or from the lounge. We went kyaking although their was a slow leak in the kyak. It didnt effect the experience as you felt safe and it made it a most fun time with our small family of 3 We would certainly recommend this bach and have no hesitation to book again Thankyou to Linda the host

Instructions for location, turning on water pump and gas were very easy to follow. Lovely private, quiet place, nothing fancy but everything needed was there. Loved the outside area and would be a great place for families with children. Excellent place to relax and would really like to spend the whole weekend just staying in. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

This is a quaint seaside property, absolute waterfront, full of character and ideal for a relaxing stay with friends or family. Situated in mid-Hokianga, so not far to Rawene, Opononi, Omapere or Kauri forest.

We absolutely LOVED this little bach. It has everything we needed and the location was absolutely perfect. Its basic, yes, but it was cozy with the fire during a cold rainy day and Opononi township is a few minutes drive for a hot meal or icecream. Safe swimming, fishing and floundering. The kids loved it and so did we. Linda was a great host with fast responses to questions and was always available if we needed anything. It was the best 4 day break on the coast we've had in years. We would love to come back.

We had the best time. This beautiful little place is so private right on the water. We felt like we were on a tropical island in the middle of winter -especially with the fire going made it super cosy! Everything we needed was available and we had really clear instructions and communication from the hosts. Thanks so much for allowing us to share you special place! ♥️

wow ! we had an amazing time here at this quiet ,secluded and gorgeous wee house right on the water.Dog loved it ! we loved it! explored some incredible beaches and kauri forest nearby and walked the estuary at low tide right on front door step .Even in May it was heaven ! fireplace kept us warm too.Linda was great with communication too.we will definitely be back !! Highly recommend !!

Our group of friends have stayed in the Hokianga many times. This time we went out on a cruise on the Ranui, highly recommend, but this bach in Koutu is now our favorite place. Loved the location, the vibe and facilities suited us perfectly. Already booking next trip
