About this house rental
Only steps to the water, safe for all water activities, this property has amazing views across to the dunes or to the night lights in Opononi, a short five minute drive away. Set on 1/2 acre of flat land with nice easy care gardens with a large deck, your options are endless. Fishing at the point, a 10 minute walk away is a local spot for catching dinner, kayaking right in front of the bach, numerous bushwalks, reading books, watching sunset/sunrises, looking out for seals, orcas, collecting pippi's, cockels or scallops when the tide is out or simple crab hunting to name a few. Koutu Point Boulders are an attraction that most visitors to the area see, learn about Opo the Dolphin who attracted thousands of visitors in the 1950's, visit the monthly Saturday local market, cross the harbour to the Sand Dunes to spend the day sliding down the banks or cross the bar into big game fishing territory! With only one neighbour this property is very quiet with plenty of car parking space too. You will not be disappointed. A Four Square, Bar, Restaurant, Cafe, Information Shop, Garage, RSA, Ice Cream, Fish and Chips Shop and the Copthorne Hotel all close by to cater to every need.

What a beautiful stay we had with my family. Spent the Kings birthday weekend here. Very cozy, comfortable Bach right on the beach. We absolutely loved it here. Very old style Bach and we weren't fussed that it wasn't modern. It has a fire place which I would prefer over a heat pump. Hoping to come back again soon. Thank you for having us.

This is a quaint old cottage with vintage vibes located on the waterfront in a quiet bay. There was a nice fireplace, which we lit, plenty of hot water and views of the ocean. When the tide comes, you can hear it lapping against the bank.

This property was very quintessential- we enjoyed the nod to the past history. It was certainly well equipped with the essentials. Unfortunately we were disappointed to find that the “sleepout” was actually a tin shed with 2 beds, a small window. Would be very hot in the summer & as the temperature dropped on our last night it got quite cold.Write up says 2 bedrooms- in fact the queen bed is in an area off the lounge - no door providing privacy only a louvre screen.We enjoyed being right on the waters edge & the easy drive to Rawene & Opononi. All n all we had a wonderful relaxing time - 3 retired couples. Would I book this property again - if only for 4 people then I would.
