Wasnt clear that 2nd room was in a separate building and that it s toilet was yet a third construction (u have go outside to go to the toilet, for one of the rooms). Or maybe i didnt read properly. Also there was a view picture that was misleading, there is no view.

Overall great stay. Was just passing through town and had everything we needed.

Great host; friendly and available. Clean and tidy; with all provisions for the kitchen and linens etc were provided. The room even had games in it and we were provided some lovely toys for our little kids, which was much appreciated. We arrived days after a major storm but despite this the property was tidy and provisions were made in case of ongoing power cuts, but none occurred. Prepared and well equiped space.

Not sure I was aware of the layout when I booked, or perhaps I just over looked it. The bunk room is an unattached sleep out and thus not suitable for our little kids. But plenty of beds in the main room, just meant it was lights out for all at the same time.

We’re very pleased we picked Quail’s Nest to stay at for our girls’ weekend!

Lorraine is a wonderful host! The accomodation was very clean, the beds were extra comfy, the wifi worked, it was quiet and peaceful all night, the kitchen was well equipped to cook for ourselves, and the shower pressure is out of this world! A great place to stay, close to amenities and Mangawhai Heads Cliff Walk, for a very reasonable price. Our group highly recommends Quail’s Nest!

The location was great, a short drive to the shops and beach. Very homely and clean with everything necessary for a short stay. We were able to bring our dog which was a huge factor in our decision to stay at Quails Nest

The beds were very comfortable and the host was very welcoming. We were nice and warm and cosy.The shower had good pressure as well.

Friendly and simple . Fresh milk in the fridge really welcoming. Local eateries closeby. Lovely quiet neighbourhood. Wifi good, and plenty of board games and books to while away the rainy times.

Some of the bed pillows could be improved, but we slept well anyway !

Although we had a comfortable stay, we thought it was slightly overpriced.

The unit was spacious, quiet and warm. The host was friendly.

More attention could be paid to cleaning, especially window sills, behind the tv, and around light switches. The refrigerator and jug needed wiping. Some shower soap and a small paring knife would have been useful.

Lots of attractive art work on the walls and furnishings. Spacious. Pleasantly old fashioned - a real teapot and loose tea provided! Host lovely. Bathroom very clean.

I had to wash a couple of the kitchen items before use - dusty rather than dirty.

Quiet and easy to find

The property could have been cleaner especially the bathroom. No soap in the shower (when mentioned the next morning I was told “I dont believe in soap because of the environment “) This was in contrast to what we were told was on the website. One of us had to sleep on the sofa bed, it was like sleeping on an uneven wooden deck. Tea and coffee provided but the instant coffee was so hard we had to stab with a knife to break it up.It is just as well we didn’t need to cook as only one hot plate worked and use the oven whilst using a hot plate. This is not a two bedroom apartment it is one large room and a sleep out.

The big drums have water in them so everytime they went to the bathroom there was a big noise. So hence very little sleep. The washing machine is in the main house.ì
