Family cabin

Nice outside seating area outside kitchen. They looked after our car when we rode the twin coast which was fabulous.

We stayed in a family cabin which was very basic. Sliding windows, and you could not leave them open at night as someone could climb in. No insect screens, loud large? family group up till well after midnight.

Worth the price, but just understand how basic, basic is!

We really liked the location. It was so handy to Paihia and its local attractions.

We did like the price, however our basic cabins where unbearably hot. Yes, it was summer but given their composition, the cinder blocks locked in the heat something terrible! The only source of heating/air movement was a fan but given the location of the only power points this was ineffective, even with the windows open (despite the security concerns this opened up) and fan going 24/7. The majority of other basic cabins users even left their doors open when sleeping because of the heat, this was not an option for us as we had a toddler with us.

We definitely will be back again. Our children didn’t wanna leave and I’m already looking at booking for September

Our family had never stayed or some of us had never been to paihia before. It was a family oriented place, our babies enjoyed it. The pool, park making new friends to play with. The play room it had everything the kids could want they never got board. We had family come visit and have a bbq with us. The bbq pizza cooking area was so cool and heaps of room for everyone at the camp site.

The laundry wait was ages.

A lovely spot with cabins that needed some upgrading in terms of aesthetics, parking and security.

I liked the holiday park overall. It was safe and pleasant. The staff were nice.

The cabin was old and hadn't been significantly renovated. One of the windows didn't lock in cabin 2 which was a security concern and the carpark in front of the unit had quite a dip in front of it which led to us parking further down which then led to a disagreement with the occupants of cabin 1 about parking.

A break from it all without the boredom…

This property was amazing ! We stayed in the Yurt for two nights, fabulous views the river is relaxing even with a mix of weather over the weekend, friendly staff and helpful updates on Facebook over conditions after the storm… we will definitely be back… heaps of amenities and things for kids to do. All the pictures on the website are exactly how it looks. Great location

Relaxing stay at great family campsite

Excellent cabin accommodation in campsite with outside deck to relax on after a days sightseeing. Large rooms with everything you needed. Great facilities.

If looking for a budget place its ok

Staff was friendly and helpful

Room was very small and right next to the main road so you hear the vehicle noise. During the day its very hot inside and no AC provided. Shared toilets and shower facilities are dated and smelly, and some are not clean properly.

The kids liked the pool and the playground

The showers were cold and unfortunately there was someone there that decided to spray paint racist comments on the walls. The staff did however clean it up quickly but it did make me feel a little uncomfortable.

Clean cabin, but sleepless night

It was clean.

I stayed in the cabin only for one night and barely had a sleep. The constant ongoing noise from the utility room (washing machine?) in next door to our cabin was hard to sleep. The residents or guests on the other side of this joint cabin were too noisy from 11pm till 2AM (load speaking & kind of loud banging noises on the floor--- unloading stuff ? ). We left around 7am. Out of 3 light bulbs on the wall near the top of the window, 2 was not working. Because of it, there was not enough light in the cabin. A little fan on the floor was not efficient & needed to open the window in the evening (mosquitoes were coming). The Wi-fi was too slow to use it. Somehow we expected better condition from a 4 star holiday park. However, I do acknowledge we did not use any other facilities at this holiday park.

Unresponsive Management

The beauty of the location by the creek. Very pretty

The noise in the courtyard unit. We initially queried the water pump outside the bedroom window which went constantly. It couldn't be turned off or there would be no water. They were aware of the problem and had plans to fix it. Then we had the noise from upstairs (managers accommodation) that was excessive and which recurred at 3am. Then on our last evening the managers dog upstairs urinated on the deck which dripped through onto our courtyard. We tried calling out and knocking on their door with no response, yet the female manager was upstairs all the time and only responded when the male manager returned.

We stayed in the Kauri 2bdrm cabin it was awesome, nice and spacious, has a TV we used our Netflix at night for the little children, Pillows were amazing, cooking facilities were a bonus having a beautiful view of the river was great, we utilised the BBQ and pizza oven that area is lovely. This whole place is AWESOME and we highly recommend

No majors but…our family members who were tenting utilised the ovens in the shared kitchen area which need attention and the dryer in the laundry wasn’t great 40min but it didn’t really dry your clothes.

Exceeded our expectations

Great facilities, awesome new covered BBQ area, we even used the pizza oven, swimming pool, volleyball net, felt very safe, we didn’t need to use it but the place has a cool convenient store, highly recommend and loved the place.

Playground was a hit with the kids. Theres a cool swing on a tree by the river which we took some cool photos on. BBQ area was so nice and spacious . Theres two massive bbq's that looked pretty flash. Another family were cooking their dinner and using the outdoor pizza oven that was cool to see. Didn't get a chance to use it ourselves but will def remember to take pizza ingredients on our next stay. Would love to stay in the Kauri Room next time for more space. Great friendly staff.

Toilet cubicles in shared bathroom were small so it was hard to enter and close the doors had to squeeze in. The Room we stayed in had concrete floors so i would recommend taking a playmat for your lil ones to sit and play with their toys on as it was cold.

Perfect for a group booking

We were taking a bunch of girls to a netball tournament. The rooms had 6 beds so they could sleep together and we used the shared kitchen facilities which thankfully had some crockery and cutlery for breakfast. Rooms clean and warm. Great location, easy to find and friendly check in.
