Dirty accomodation, no privacy!

The bed was comfortable.

Not even 24 hours before arrival we got the message, that the accomodation was overbooked, but instead he offered us to stay in the staff room, that was separated from the house. That sounded fair, as they promised us a bathroom, a kitchen area and a double bed. When we arrived we found a dirty and unclean accomodation. Kitchen and cleaning stuff and other belongings where not only in the drawers but also on the floors. It wasn’t possible to close the window in the bathroom. the office door was right next to it and could’ve been opened at any time. Naturally we wanted a discount as this was not even close to the accommodation we payed for. He offered us a 10% discount. Unfortunately switching accomodations was not possible for us as we didn’t have enough time because of Waitangi Day. After some more discussion we at least got $50 back. Even though he told us a family booked the whole accomodation , we only saw two people. It was also very quiet. Never again!

Beautiful stay at the Regent Residential House 😊

Staff was very accommodating as I needed to change the booking to an earlier date (from the 21st to the 20th), which I was very grateful for as I had the wrong dates when I booked. I loved having access to a private bathroom & the convenience of the Supermarket nearby. Love staying here when I need a break. It was clean & had everything you need for a great stay in Whangarei. Getting in so late I wasn't able to take photos but the space was very comfortable

It was a little hot in the room I had but was able to open windows. Can do with a fan in the room as the small wall unit was hard to work.

Rooms are nice, beds are extremely comfortable, house is spacious and equipped with everything you need, free laundry as well and the owners had no problem with me checking out late and were super friendly about it!

Enjoyed my stay.its a great place to stay for a reasonable price.

Close to shops, quiet street and comfortable bed. I slept well. It has a well equipped kitchen for cooking and a big fridge freezer. The free wifi was an excellent connection. Living room and kitchen is shared with other guests but not a problem. Everyone respected each other’s space. Plenty of toilet paper, shampoo and body wash provided. Great shower. Laundry use was convenient.

The host startled me entering the room without warning before checkout time of 10:00am before I had handed in the keys. No knock on the door, She said sorry I thought you had gone. I said, I wouldn’t have left the door open and left if I had gone. No harm done but a little more courtesy and awareness of guest movements would go a long way.

Good place, not the best location, value for money.

Property is big, enough beds for plenty.

We encountered a few issues during our stay 1. Hot Water Issue One of the bathrooms lacked hot water, which was quite inconvenient. 2. Host Interaction We were greeted by three individuals, but it was unclear who the actual host was. They entered the property with us, which felt rather odd. Despite our polite acknowledgment, we would have preferred to handle everything ourselves. 3. Privacy Concerns We felt our privacy was compromised as they spent about 10 minutes explaining the kitchen and the keys. We had mentioned that we were simply staying for the night and not planning to cook, so this extended interaction felt unnecessary.

Het is er ontzettend gehorig. Je kunt de kamer ernaast letterlijk verstaan. Mijn kamer zit ook naast de algemene woonkamer, dat is ook erg gehorig als daar mensen praten of tv aanstaat 😢
