Absolutely amazing wee rural spot!! Immaculate cabins, everything you need and the bed was heaven!! Aggi the dog was such a gorgeous friendly wee girl (she will lick you toes) and the animals there really made our stay. Hosts were just lovely and we enjoyed our wee chat. Such a zen, peaceful retreat. 10/10!!

A hot tub on the deck would really be the icing on the cake...hint hint for next time lol!!

Good price with basic amenities.

Location was good and easy access to the town by car. Very clean accommodation. Owner very friendly and engaging.

The breakfast was very basic and not really sufficient. Suggest you plan your own breakfast. The fitout of the room very basic. No where to hang clothes and very little kitchen bench space. No hooks for towels, jackets or other. Many convenient things missing. The bed was not very comfortable over 2 nights. Seemed to be a strong focus on accounting for everything, including limiting the about of food anyone guest could feed the animals (unless you were prepared to pay for it)

Highly recommend Highlander Farm Stay for couples wanting a lovely quiet break.

Close to the central city but so much quieter than being in a motel closer in. The surrounding peacefulness makes for a very good nights sleep. The bed is super comfortable and the shower has good pressure and is a decent size.

It would be good to have a small table and chairs inside for eating breakfast on. An extra bathmat would be handy in the bathroom, as the bathroom is small it seems to easily get wet when showering or using the small sink.

Loved the location, loved being able to feed the animals the host was amazing. He went out of his way to ensure we could see/feed all the animals very friendly & knowledgeable. The cabins were tastefully fitted out, very comfortable. We will definitely be back!

The animals! We stayed just for the uniqueness of the property and access to the Northland. The hosts were great and the animals so fun to watch and interact with. The fact the we got fresh bread each morning with toppings was a great bonus.

Clean, lovely animals to gaze at and separated from your neighbours. Can't ask for more!

Spotlessely clean, beautiful animals to gaze at, quiet and tranquil. No noise whatsoever possible from other guests due to the separation of the cabins. This style of accommodation should be adopted by other providers! Good roomy shower with good water pressure (there is nothing worse than a shower that is little more than a dribble). We will definitely be back!

A small table in the room would be nice, maybe some yoghurt as an addition to the breakfast and a bit more butter (one pack per piece of bread required). The small sink in the bathroom is difficult to use without getting your feet wet when cleaning your teeth but none of this is a big deal.

Nous avons pris ce logement pour l'expérience de passer une nuit dans une ferme avec des animaux. L'endroit est superbe. Et les animaux sont magnifiques. Proximité avec Whangarei à 10minutes de voiture. On peut y passer la soirée et rentrer au calme pour dormir.
