We liked absolutely everything about our stay at kai iwi lakes resort, the team super helpful, very clean accommodation, very relaxing, peaceful and comfortable also prime location only few minutes from kai iwi lakes and also a short drive to omamari Beach. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful to come back to after a full day at the lakes, to relax and rest up

Centrally located near the lakes, was 5mins away by car. Cabin/house was well appointed with kitchen, enough plates, cups, cutlery, pots n pans, liked the wine/ beer fridge, very handy.

Hearing the cabins are up for sale, very sad news, as only a few places available to rent near the lakes.

More a camping site with NO power for tents than a resort

The property is very clean, the kitchen well equipped, and the staff very polite and smiley.

I chose the tent based on the information provided, and there was nothing indicating that it did not have power. That’s an important detail that should be clearly stated in the listing. The area around the tent is completely dark as well at night. There’s no single light outside if you want to go to the toilet in the middle of the night. I’m not sure how “resort” is being defined here, but the experience feels much closer to a basic camping site than a resort. The mattress is very soft which caused me sore back, the wifi has very bad service, but the kitchen fully equipped.

An excellent experience

It was a lovely stayed. We all love the Mongolian style tent and it has a playground that my kids love. It get everything needed. Close to Kai Iwi lake

Great place, clean and very quiet with good kitchen, comfortable beds, big lounge good for a big family and kids. A playground for children was a bonus. Great location, 10 minutes away from the lakes

The charge of $20 a night each for children i had 4 grandchildren stay 1- 7yrs and 3- 5 yrs Old all slept in sleeping bags and there own pillows on pull out couchs didnt mind $20 for extra adults but fir children very expensive only slept there were out all day 😢

It was a lovely weekend away and we had fun glamping with our toddler for the first time!

The space is well set out with easy access to the bathrooms/kitchen. It was awesome having the playground, play house and alpaca for our little one to play!

I felt the place was generally a little run down/needing a deep clean. Our tent had black mould (or black mould staining) over half the roof and 2 of 4 net windows had rips so we couldn't keep them open. The kitchen was unclean and each morning was full dead (and alive) of bugs etc. From overnight which is understandablebut not quick to be rectified. The lounge sofas were musty/mouldy smelling and there was visible dirt in crevices etc. Same in general with the floors.

Proximity to Kai Iwi lakes. Julie and Rod were great. Private enough and peaceful.

Difficult to fix but I’m a big girl with a back injury and the toilet area was extremely confined for me. I had to use the loo down at the lakes, particularly for No. 2s.

I love that the staff gave us a house instead of the Glamper tent due to a storm that was coming. There were cleaning products for us to use (it was clean) and all we had to bring were clothes and food. Kai Iwi lake wasn’t too far away. It was peaceful and quite and the staff were lovely too 😁

Just the pressure of the shower, but that didn’t really matter we absolutely enjoyed our stay 😁
