Location, views and property is amazing

Single serve packets of coffee, creamer etc were not fresh. Bin was full and smelly, just next to the property and one bed had broken plank of the base. Chlorine levels of spa were not regulated.

A great getaway

Loved the modern awesome bubbled spa pool..made the whole stay worthwhile especially in the stormy weather.the bed was super comfy..the chalet was very homely yet a bit luxurious at the same time.Very private.. loved our stay..very relaxing.

The spa pool was amazing but the very strict instructions about cleanliness made me a bit paranoid about the quality of the water after each use.. especially when the bubbles seemed to create a bit of froth that left a slight residue.. which was definitely not us the guests.

It was okay...

We enjoyed everything about our stay. The view from our suite (Suite C) was beautiful - we had lovely nights unwinding watching the sun go down over the Whangaroa harbour and early mornings in the spa watching the sunrise while we sat in the spa, which was such a treat to have - we tried to spend as much of our time as possible soaking in the luxuries of it.

The water pressure for both shower heads in our suite were fairly useless. The bathroom door doesn't close properly - once you pull it closed, it slowly starts to slide open. There was a strong mold-like odour coming from the spa pool water each time we closed the cover and then opened it - the smell would last up to 40 minutes after the clean cycle and turning the jets on. The colouring of the water also had a light green tinge to it which I assume might explain the smell and may be due for a clean.

Beautiful stay

Our stay in suite C was absolutely perfect, we arrived alot later than our check in time but Emma (host) had everything set and ready. 😊 Upon our arrival (a long trip back from Auckland) we found a lovely birthday card + extras for my partner, the spa was perfectly heated, super clean and ready for that relaxing soak we were needing👌 House is absolutely beautiful, super clean, lots of privacy, loved the layout. The fireplace was amazing, heated the house in minutes, outdoor seating was perfect for enjoying the beautiful views whilst having breaky + wine down. Alot of beautiful natural landscapes/treks in the area to admire aswell 🏞️⛰️🌄🌅 The directions were well written, found everything with ease. Overall, it was an amazing stay, a weekend was not long enough 😅 Thanks soo much Coastal Chalets, well defs be staying again 😊👌💯

Clean tidy and secure, better than 1 or 2 negative reviews read before travelling. Nice outlook and plenty of great areas to relax in including the spa. Complimentary totes bag a nice touch

Uncomfortable stay in stifling hot chalet.

Location was great close to Tauranga Beach and Whangaroa. Property grounds were well maintained and there was a lovely view.

We arrived in one of the hottest weeks of the year. The property had been closed up and was stifling inside. The ancient cooling fan was not up to the job! This made for an uncomfortable stay and half the property was unusable it was so unbearably hot. This was brought to the attention of the manager who provided another fan to push the hot air around. Not an adequate solution. The layout of this chalet is awkward and one main bed is in the sitting room. It was too hot to stay inside. This is advertised as a luxury chalet but is far from it. The owner cares more about taking your money than the comfort of the guests. Avoid!

Lots of room, lovely tropical gardens and view, well equipped kitchen

No fans or air conditionning - it was unbearably hot especially when we arrived. At least one fan would have been appreciated. The bathroom extractor fan didn't work so the bathroom was very steamy and a bit smelly. The spa pool water was quite murky and had a strong unusual smell - we used it anyway but our kids had a rash the next day, so maybe needs a deep clean.

Beds were good, nice locality, spacious

So hot. We couldn’t cool the house with the very inadequate fans. They were noisy and seemed to be heating the house. The showers surged hot and cold all the time. The key didn’t work in the back door. Not even any salt or pepper provided. Shocked that we had to pay so much for the washing machine. For that price we expected more.
