Travis was welcoming and spent time showing the location of places of interest on the map...very helpful. The room was clean, beds comfortable and lots of hot water. The location was great. Easy walk to beach, sea and boat wharves.

Great small hotel, very friendly

Lovely small hotel, close to the beach, great shared kitchen facility, comfortable room, powerful shower, great hosts - very friendly and helpful. Shops nearby. There were all sorts of other guests, families, couples, single travelers and the opportunity to chat in the communal area was nice.

The room and bed were quite small but perfectly adequate for us.

Friendly, welcoming staff. Paige was lovely. Comfy bed.

The room smelt like rotten socks. It was rudimentary for the price it cost. Sheets that gave off a lot of static electricity. Smelly quilt. Thin walls. Stuffy.

Would recommend the stay to anyone looking to be close to the Paihia Beach

The host was very friendly and we felt the stay was great value for money, with nice facilities and proximity to the beach. There is a kitchen and a TV room which was a bonus :)

I am bit sensitive to dust and we felt the bedding might need a bit of dusting. My partner also experienced something similar. This is a bit of a feedback, otherwise everything else was perfect :)

A good place to stay

This is a quiet location....we were made very welcome on arrival. Parking is free.....on the property or on the street. Easy walk to the wharf and nearby cafes. Lovely bakery. Towels are provided and the rooms are larger than basic. The kitchen is very useful to have on site. We enjoyed our three night stay.

The hosts of the lodge where absolutely adorable, gave great advices. They managed to put out great vibes where travelers both young and older got along with. I'd come back here again.

Overall great stay for the one night as it had all the basic things needed bed and bathroom etc.. great value for money.

Location was great, owners were lovely and gave recommendations of things to do around Paihia. Bed was comfortable, bathroom had all basic ammenities needed.

Surprisingly a very nice lodge

The location was good. An easy walk to the town Center and the ferries. It was my first time trying a hostel-like accommodation and it was excellent. The owners were very friendly and accommodating.

The sink in the bathroom was exceptionally small but other than that, everything was fine.

Very budget. Looked different to the promo photos. An uncomfortable mattress with polyester sheets that made it difficult to sleep. No kettle and the communal kitchen closed at 9.00pm so no cuppa late on. A small fan only. No aircon. I realise that this is budget but it could be improved with a little attention.

Hosts are a lovely couple that manage the place and very friendly. Room was clean although I don't think the bed sheets/doonas/duvets were replaced with new ones since there were a couple of long blonde strands of hair between the folds. Water pressure great and toilet was very clean. Had the 4 bed dorm room to myself which was great although still a little over my budget for a hostel price. Recommend the place as its great for travellers that don't have a car. Location is a good walking distance from the wharf where the buses are and cool bars nearby.

The price was higher than expected for a 4bed dorm that didn't include any breakfast (unsure if any type of breakfast was included) although there was a kitchen with plenty of utensils and pots to make your own food.

It’s been a pleasure to meet Andy , he has been very helpful and professional . Together with his wife they are running a business in a very popular town offering clean , comfortable and affordable accommodation, all you need to enjoy the stay . Having access to a well equipped kitchen was a bonus , thank you for your hospitality

A very restful home away from home.

So close to town and the beach, nicely laid out kitchen with plenty of cooking facilities. Lovely outdoor eating area under cover. Homely lounge area for relaxing. Hosts were so friendly and accommodating, even providing an area for my husband to prepare the fish he caught that day and very welcoming to our 11 year old grandsons 😊

Beautiful location, great hosts, clean and comfortable.

Fab location, parking on site. Access to everything you may need. Well provisioned kitchen. Comfortable bed. Free Wi-Fi. If you want a swanky hotel then this probably isn’t for you but if you want a clean, comfortable and friendly place to lay your head then we highly recommend. Special shout out to the hosts who were amazing-so accommodating; went out of their way to connect with guests and make sure everyone had what was needed. Andy and Lynne were happy to advise/recommend what to see and do and there were discounts available for local activities if you were a guest of the lodge. We had a bit of a problematic start to our stay (airline related) but Andy and Lynne were so helpful. If we get the opportunity to stay again in the future, we’ll definitely be back.
