About this house rental

Beautiful summer sunsets enjoying a glass of wine or two from the deck. Perfect spot to observe action on the beach with safe swimming and lots of outdoor adventure. Boats can be launched from the beach with great fishing or surf casting off the rocks.
Great place to stay and explore Karikari Peninsula with some of the best beaches in NZ, Matai Bay, Rangiputa, Karikari and Tokerau beach. Carrington Estate winery is very nearby with a championship golf course, this is well worth a visit. Also the short drive to the famous Mangonui Fish Shop and quaint local village is a treat.
Bach is compact, comfortable and clean, real Kiwi bach!.

Older home overlooking a delightful bay. Good place for 4 to 8 travelers, but be advised that there is no WiFi (which was clearly not listed in the amenities so this was my mistake), you are required to bring your own linens and towels - which I'm learning is very common in NZ but very uncommon for us spoiled Americans 8-} - and the expectation is that you will perform a solid cleaning before departing.

Great location for Karikari exploring. Beautiful views from deck. Simple bach with lots of beds. Steep gravel driveway so check your vehicle can do it before you whizz up. Quiet spot.

We loved our stay in Whatuwhiwhi. The house was a lovely typical kiwi bach and the view of the bay was awesome. The bay was perfect for our 3 year old to play and swim in! Our hosts were super easy to communicate with. Hopefully we'll be back!

Was perfect for our family of four. There is a gate that can be pulled across the top of the deck stairs for those that may need to contain a toddler. Lovely deck that was sheltered from the wind, perfect for a relaxing read, and partially covered for wet days - you can still chill outside with the sound of the waves. Perfect base for a Cape Rianga and giant sand dune visit. Just a note if travelling in covid times - Iwi have blocked access to Karikari beach and Matai Bay. We found out too late, just prior to our departure, that you can access the same stretch of coast by going to Puhuke beach. You can experience the very fine white sand and clear waters here. And for a bit of surf, Tokerau beach. So a little taste of everything is at hand! TV there and a large freezer which aren't mentioned on amenities list. Overall, a most enjoyable escape. Recommend at least a five night stay as its quite a hike up, and when you get there you wont want to leave!

The property was everything it promised, loved the proximity to the beach, it was so close, fantastic swimming too. Watching the sunset while sitting on the East Coast was a first, and what an amazing sight. Everything was easy to get to for site seeing and shopping and exploring. Also a really nice bach to chill out in at the end of the day. Loved this holiday, we all did, thank you.
