We are retired and travel is our "hobby," and Almondbank Cottage has been our best accommodation in Scotland BY FAR. Donald and Christina set the gold standard for hosting. They live downstairs and mastered the art of welcoming us, making sure we had everything we needed, then leaving us to enjoy the Isle of Skye. Highlights were great communication, thoughtful kitchen supplies (oil, butter, milk, etc.), quality cookware, clear appliance instructions (so nice not to guess at how to operate appliances), lamps w/ chargers built in, washing machine w/ tablets, spacious on-site parking, and a clean accommodation. As a former 5-star host myself, I know such thoughtful touches go a long way toward making someone feel welcome and comfortable, not just a payment. You will need a car to really see Skye and Almondbank Cottage is located 15 minutes outside of Portree, close enough to run into town and far enough away for peace and quiet. We would gladly stay at Almondbank Cottage again and wish more accommodations were run by such thoughtful and kind people.

Propriétaires très accueillants. Maison très propre avec plein de petites intentions. Nous avons trouvé notre séjour très agréable. La maison est située dans un coin calme, à une dizaine de minutes en voiture de Portree. Je recommande vivement.

The appartment is spacious, very clean and well maintained, better than what you saw from the pictures. The hosts, Donald-John and Christina, are super nice. Very responsive to all our questions, providing good descriptions on the directions, recommendations on shopping and restaurant,😁. It is located next a lake, gas wonderful view.
