The stay was very good, and the location was excellent.

The utensils were not properly cleaned, and the towels were placed under the duvet in an inappropriate manner. Additionally, there were not enough toilet rolls provided for four people, and essential items such as washing liquid and sponges were missing, which required us to purchase them ourselves. Other than these issues, the stay was very good, and the location was excellent.

Best choice for the area! A hidden gem!

Super helpful communication from the get-go and amazingly comfortable accomodations and stellar location, this has been my favorite lodging on my trip so far. Hosts have thought of everything and we were completely at ease. Definitely wish we'd stayed longer! Thank you for having everything that a guest would need!!! Loved the drying rack and the bunnies out front. ;)

Maybe a little musty upstairs? Could have some hanging charcoal odor bags or a small air purifier? That's all I can think of!

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting.

Property was just as advertised. Beautiful country cottage that was perfect for a small family. The children loved the garden and watching the baby rabbits out of the windows.

Nothing to call out. WiFi was a bit slow but if your on Skye for the internet then you are doing it wrong 😊

The Heatherland Cottage is tucked away in the country side but conveniently located to nearby attractions. The cottage is cozy with comfortable beds. The rain shower and soaking tub was wonderful.

Very cute and well-appointed cottage in a pastoral setting. Would have loved to stay longer! We were welcomed by a small committee of sweet farm animals in the driveway. It was a highlight of our trip. : )

Peaceful, relaxing, stunning location with a quaint, beautifully restored cottage.

The view was stunning. Surrounded by hills and sheep, even saw a robin red breast in the garden. All the little things like washing powder and snacks were provided.

We had some unusual warm weather, so upstairs was a little warmer than we would have liked. Apart from that everything was just perfect.

Lovely country cottage

The property was as described. I liked the sunshades over the sunlights in the bedrooms and the towel warmer in the bath.

The stairs to the bedrooms were a bit tricky to navigate, especially if you’re older, so take caution when booking.

We were told not to alter the heating at all but the property was too hot for our liking. We were lucky enough to have fantastic weather during our stay and could have done with turning the heat off at times. Also dishwasher tablet box was empty so we just hand washed everything. Pizza cutter would be a handy addition.

Cottage is fitting for area. Decor nice. Bathroom was good, great shower.

Smoke detector going off in the middle of the night (host did respond promptly) and remoteness from Portree was a bit disappointing. Price was high in hindsight.

Cute little cottage in a great location

Great location - close to Portree which has restaurants, pubs, cafes, Coop supermarket, service station, and on the Trotternish tourist loop. Cute little cottage with all you need for a little family get away and such beautiful views. So glad we chose to stay here rather than in town.

We were too busy sight seeing that we didn’t get to enjoy the surroundings we had right at our front door!

The home away from home.

This cottage is a gem. It has everything you need from a self catering accommodation and more. It gives the impression of an old, rural and secluded place while providing every modern comfort. We definitely recommend a stay there!

Just be careful on the steep staircase leading to the bedrooms!

Fantastic location and comfortable, stylish stay.

The keys were left on the table in the living room - very easy to pick up and we did the same when we left. There was no need to wait for anyone which made it very convenient for us. House is in a really peaceful and lovely location. We could see clouds descend on the mountains viewed from the front of the property and kids loved saying hello to the neighbour's sheep whom they named Fluffy and Pompom. Facilities were great - the bathtub and water pressure were fantastic. Super clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable, self-catering stay. The Co-op is < 10 mins drive away and pretty well equipped so it was easy - particularly as we had a car. Nice bonus was the Pictish stone visit just up the road - one of 2 found on the Isle of Skye!

The hot water ran out after one shower or one kids combined bath. We just planned it such that there was an hour break between each of us showering and this meant we could all have a hot shower. If you plan to do laundry, take your own detergent as this isn't available at the property. If you are here in the summer, beware of midges - keep the windows closed and stay inside at sundown and sunrise as they are abundant and if you are susceptible to their bites, it can be brutal. The bins are at the end of the drive way in case you are wondering where they are to clean up at the end of your stay. Turn around from the gate and walk back to where it meets the road and you will see it. If you are from England, please note that you cannot recycle glass in the recycle bin.

perfectly presented little cottage in the middle of Skye. away from it all. great view of hills. not too far from town. warm and cosy. had everything we needed for our 2 nights as a family of 4. could have easily stayed longer.

as they mention, the water pressure is lousy. but the location makes up for it. stairs to upstairs bedrooms and bathroom downstairs may bother some people?…

Exceptional

We traveled with our family. Two kids, 5-year-old and 18 month old. The cottage was perfect size for our family and the perfect location to have a base on Skye. We really enjoyed the snacks left by the host, helped brighten our spirits after a longe travel day to the Island. The hosts were exceptional in providing local recommendations and idea for exploration. Really appreciated the efforts they put in to make it a wonderful stay.

Amazing little cottage on Isle of Skye.

This place was special. Our favorite place in our 10 day adventure all over Scotland and Ireland. Sheep welcoming commitee at front door entrance was the best! Cottage is amazingly clean and comfortable and kitchen though small is totally stocked with every utenzil you will need, and I've rented many cottages/condos over the years. We only rented it for 2 nights and I hope to next time rent it for a week or more so I hope its available. I almost didnt want to write this review and have more peopel rent it...I just loved it. It was three of us on our trip but this cottage could have easily hosted 4 people very compfortably.

it’s good for being totally relaxed if you drive a car, otherwise it would be very difficult to find the place. it located on the mountain top, with hundreds of years history. if you gonna spend several days here it would be so great to chill.
