Top spot, great cabin, kind people.

The cabin has a stunning view out over Loch Snizort and is a perfect base for exploring Skye. Even when the weather’s a bit dreich, the surroundings are beautiful and the cabin itself provides a welcoming and comfortable retreat. The owners were very helpful and provided an iron when I needed one.

Keys were waiting at checkin. Easy to find, amazing location and view! The cabin photos don’t do it justice, lovely place!!

Wood fired hot tub is not convenient when want to take a quick dip but we knew this when reserving it.

Great place to stay - highly recommend!

This was our best stay in 3+ weeks in Scotland. The Rotunda is a super comfortable room - light and airy with views of the sheep pasture leading down to the loch and the hills on the other side. The very private hot tub was a wonderful feature - make sure to go light on the amount of wood - it can easily get too hot. The location is also excellent - it's very close to Portree but you're far enough away enough to really enjoy being in rural Skye. Talkative sheep as neighbors, as well as cows and a friendly horse. Willie and Marlene are very helpful hosts - nice people and fun to talk with.

The scenery and cabin were both beautiful, and the cabin is in an excellent location. We traveled to a variety of attractions which only required a small amount of travel time. We also enjoyed the use of the hot tub and seeing the sheep around the property.

Fantastic stay

Perfect getaway to be close to Portree but also far enough away that you are a bit secluded. The room is very clean and presented well. You don't see anyone else so have lots of privacy. Lots of natural light. Everything was provided for the hot tub and lots of recommendations of things to do are in the cabin. It was just the loveliest time away.

This wasn't an issue more of an fyi but the window in the roof doesn't have a blind or cover - lovely for seeing the stars etc - but it does me it gets light in the room very early during summer.

We absolutely loved the location and even though the owner is close by, it feels very secluded! The owner would also be very helpful if you would need them!!

Honestly we loved everything about the place! The wood fire hot tub was fun to use! Only thing to know is the Edinbane inn sadly does not do live Scottish music anymore!

The photos of the cabin do not do it justice... it is absolutely beautiful, completely private and secluded but also safe. The views of the sea and the mountains were second to none! Fantastic

The kitchenette could do with a few more dishes, some oven dishes etc. An iron and ironing board would be handy too. However the host did say if we needed anything we could ask, and we didn't, so maybe they would have provided if we had?

Beautiful Views and friendly hosts!

The Rotunda is a cozy cabin with a beautiful view. The room is clean and comfortable and the perfect size for a quiet get away. It is very private and the Woodburner jacuzzi is brilliant. The owners were very helpful and were quick to respond to requests. The location is excellent for getting around the island. We couldn't have expected anything more from this place. Didn't want to leave. Will hopefully find time to return!

Really lovely experience

We really liked the cabin (rotunda) and how remote it was. It's not too far from the other houses, but a little hill hides it well and on the other side you have the water and a lot of sheep! The view is really something and the place is very quiet. The little porch with the chairs and the hot tub is really nice, we enjoyed a few meals there. The hot water tub was great (once we got it going, you need a bit of knowledge of how to start and maintain a food fire, but even 2 city people managed it easily). Kitchen was ok - don't expect to find everything you'd have at home but it was more than enough for heating up a bunch of meals and preparing sandwiches. Bathroom was good size and the water had good pressure and temperature (I like hot showers). I was surprised how good the phone signal was in the area/cabin (you do get wifi anyway). There are signs to the cabin from the main road and a sign of where the parking is. If you can't see them keep going (past the massive hill and houses). The host sent us an email with a lot of information both about the cabin and about where you can get things (dinners, supermarkets); we didn't really need any help with anything but they seemed very nice and responsive.

No big issues for us, just some things to consider: the roads aren't the best in the area (lots of potholes, gravel roads), there is a little walking up and down from the car park to the cabin entrance (if you have mobility issues), toiletries & kitchen washing up stuff provided could be a little better. There are blinds for all of the windows but not for the skylight in the ceiling so in more summer times it can get quite bright.

A little piece of paradise.

Location, location, location. This cabin is in the perfect place to completely escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. We sat out on the deck to watch the sun rise and it was completely worth the 4am start. We were shocked that the cabin actually appeared bigger in real life than it looked from the photos online. It is equipped with everything you could need for the perfect getaway - we would definitely stay here again!

The only downside for us was the wood fired hot tub which we found difficult to master (in all honestly, we didn’t quite get the hang of it in the 5 days that we were there with the water either being too hot or too cold at all times). Some clearer instructions re timings and a temperature control/monitor would be helpful.

Beautiful, private, peaceful

We stayed in the Rotunda, a beautiful cabin with the comfiest bed we had ever slept on and everything you would need. The outdoor hot tub was amazing and the hosts provided plenty of wood. Quiet, peaceful location and very private, not overlooked by the road, other houses or cabins. Good distance from most of the main attractions on Skye.

Had a bit of a false start with the hot tub as it was so cold - it took over 4 hours to heat up on the first attempt! Not a problem though, we'll know for next time.

Exceptional

We didn’t have a single complaint the entire time we were there - the cabin was absolutely beautiful! The hot tub was amazing and super easy to use. Owners were on hand to help with anything; however, you’re left to it the time you’re there which we thought was great - William greeted us and helped us set up the hot tub when we first arrived which was appreciated. The cabin has plenty of facilities. We mostly ate out or brought our own snacks anyway, but the kitchen is fully equipped if you fancy cooking your own meal. Beautiful views (even at night when the moon is out!) and we were greeted by some horse and sheep friends which we loved! It was super convenient being within driving distance of pretty much all of the usual sights we wanted to see. The owners also send an email as part of your booking recommending places to eat, things to do etc. which was great help since it was our first visit to Skye, though, unfortunately some of the places we fancied from this list didn’t end up being open. That isn’t to be helped! We’re planning on returning in summer anyway so the email will be on hand then. All in all, we would 100% book to stay here again. The entire trip was brilliant and it was made extra special with knowing we were returning to such a beautiful cabin in the evenings after a long day out.

The location offers beautiful views, the rotunda is adorable and the hot tub is perfect after a day of exploring! The kitchenette was very well stocked and the owners left us milk and a welcome basket which was a lovely touch. The owners leave you to it but are contactable and friendly!

Nothing we didn't like, but for others to be aware you need to walk down a small hill from the car to the rotunda.

Both interior and exterior loooked amazing, it was all clean, they provide oil, salt and pepper in their kitchen, along with coffee and tea. I so appreciate when someone provides also an oil! :) Love how there’s lots of power sockets. the views from the outside are gorgeous! the sheep everywhere… and we also met a horse, I don’t know his name but this happened: there was a rainbow above the loch, I went out to the garden to check it out and I look to the left and see a beautiful horse that looks like a unicorn haha unbelievable… we loved our stay so much. thank you

If we had known there shoulda been provided slippers we woulda asked for them, it’s kinda painful to put shoes on every time we go out to the patio. They probably forgot and that happens, but shame we didn’t have them, it’d been perfect. We were staying for three nights and right after the first night and morning, we run out of wood as you need to burn a lot to get the hot tub hot. Just make sure you ask for it in advance as it may take a while to get more or maybe the owners will add more wood when they know someone stays longer… but it was amazing and make sure to swirl it from time to time :D as the cold water stays at the bottom.

The perfect stay on the Isle of Skye, an absolute must!

The rotunda cabin is incredible. So much bigger than we expected, and the facilities were amazing. Perfectly stocked kitchen area, we ate in every night (unplanned) because the space was so nice. Expected the shower/water to be weak, but it was possibly the most powerful/nicest shower we've ever had! Phenomenal views across the river/loch (rise early to see a beautiful sunrise!), super easy check-in, and the wood-fired hot tub an awesome bonus! Loved every minute.

Couldn’t fault it.

Everything about this place was great. It was clean and stocked with any item you may need in the kitchen. The owners were both lovely and were very helpful, they even came down to show us how to start the fire for the hot tub! We really enjoyed the hot tub, it was clean and easy to use. The views around the area are incredible, you truly can’t complain, with plenty of company from the sheep and cows that are near the cabin. We stayed in the superior chalet (the rotunda) and it was well worth the money for a good quiet get away.

Stunning little property!

The inside if the hut was super cosy with just about everything you need for a few days. The hot tub was really hot (caution: it got super hot) with a great view. The tub was hot enough the day after and needed a little stoke on the third day. The host was responsive and really friendly - would definitely return! : )

It was ideal so nothing we didn’t like.
