The ultimate Isle of Skye experience

Everything you need and more inside a cozy shepherds hut staight out of a fairy tale. It is furnished with attention to every detail- it felt like home away from home. We still remember the delicious tea, lovely smell of natural cosmetics and super comfy bed. And as a bonus we could observe a little bit of the everyday life on a sheep farm.

Absolutely the best stay on our Scotland adventure. Incredible hut with cosy fireplace, comfortable bed & pillows, slept soundly. Peaceful & quiet location. Piping hot shower & heated towel racks. Hosts went above & beyond with supplies such as milk, eggs & bread provided. Loved every minute of our Hut stay.

A lovely small home with everything you could ask for (small kitchen with stovetop, one fridge plus another in the shed attached to the cabin). Very comfortable bed, quiet at night, right beside a bunch of friendly sheep 🙂 great position to explore Skye

Great stay in Shepherds Hut

We spent 3 nights at the end of May here and had a fantastic stay. Shepherds Hut is set in a beautiful location, looking over the rolling green hills and you can also walk to the sea. Rachel was a fantastic host with really fast communication and picking up the keys was straight forward. The hut was immaculately clean and the hosts had kindly left out bread, butter, jam and eggs. There is a big co-op only a 10 minute drive away so we cooked each night, as there is a fridge, 2 hobs and plenty of kitchen utensils. The nights are very short here in summer but fortunately there Hut has proper curtains all around so the light never affected our sleep.

An authentic experience being in a shepherds hut on a sheep farm!

Very easy. Rachael knew when to expect us so left the shepherds door unlocked and keys on the counter.

I didn’t realise it would be on a working sheep farm. We had a bit of a shock when we arrived and they were in the midst of shearing sheep and the sheep being separated from the flock in field and barn made them all rather noisy for part of the day. Luckily this was only momentary.

Perfect, cozy wee hut.

The hut was the best part of our holiday. We don't drive so public transport was difficult and prevented us from going too far but the immaculately clean and beautifully presented hut made our trip. Hosts were very friendly and accessable but left us to our holiday in peace. Couldn't fault it.

Having your own transport was a necessity.

I really don’t know where to start this review. I love going on holiday , but I’m normally ready for home by the end of it. Not the case here. I could have stayed in this hut forever! It was just perfect. The hut itself was so beautiful and spotlessly clean and so tastefully decorated. The bed was comfy, the bedding was cozy, there was a little shelf to put my cup of tea on by the bed whilst I was watching the sun rise in the morning. Rachel had left all sorts of goodies to snack on - which was also enough to last for breakfast for my stay. There’s a little log burner and a lovely bathroom as well as a table outside. The view from the hut is beautiful and I can’t wait to return! Thank you :) x

Perfectly Cute & Comfy

I loved firstly the hosts who were incredibly understanding when we arrived extremely late due to problems with our travel to the island. Secondly the uniqueness of being able to stay in a shepherds hut, which despite being tiny the hosts had managed to use all the space so perfectly that there was more than enough room for the 2 of us. Thirdly the views were wonderful!

I can not think of a single thing to say that was bad. Everything was exceptional.

Cute and quaint hut!

The hut was in a great location for all the main sights and just a short drive to Portree. The hut itself was cosy with a lovely fire which kept us warm when the wind was howling. The hut has everything you needed for your stay and the additional biscuits, bread and milk were a lovely sentiment. We will recommend this to anyone heading to Skye.

The perfect base to explore Skye!

Location was excellent for all main attractions by car. The hut was extremely clean, cosy and surprisingly so spacious with loads of clever storage for bags! Rachael couldn’t have done more to make sure our stay was perfect - quick responses to messages and little touches like milk/eggs in the fridge on arrival!

Perfect Retreat

Perfect little hide away just a short drive from Portree. The hut was beautiful and had everything you need, lots of nice touches with milk and jams in the fridge. The little log fire was amazing and more wood was available if required. Very cosy and romantic, we'll be back. The host was lovely and was very happy to help with anything you could need.

Ubytování byli naprosto výjimečné. V minimalistickém provedení salašnické boudy v nádherné přírodě ostrova Skye. Idylka bez TV a internetu a přitom plně vybavené pro komfort cestovatelů. Majitelka zajistila perfektní čistotu a poskytla nad rámec našeho očekávání potraviny na snídaně.

Vše bylo perfektní.
