Taigh Dolag is a traditional croft house that offers modern comfort in a secluded location with exceptional views. Situated in an elevated position in Eyre on the eastern shore of Loch Snizort Beag on the northern coast of Skye, the location commands outstanding views out to the Minch and the Outer Hebrides in the distance.

With only a 7 minute drive to Portree, the island capital, and a 10 minute drive to the Western Isles ferry terminal, the house is ideally located for those wishing to tour the island, and further afield.

With modern furnishings throughout, the two bedroom house offers a comfortable base to explore Skye, or just to relax and take in the magical scenery. There is a comfortable living room with a wood burning stove, one double bedroom, one kingsize bedroom, bathroom and a large fully equipped Kitchen diner with french doors. The house has central heating and a private garden with seating area.

Located on a working croft, we will be tending to livestock daily and are unable to accommodate pets. Private parking is available. The house can accommodate a maximum of 4 people.

The croft was clean and well appointed, with a breath taking view! Being at the end of the road, it was very private. We did lose power one night, but Joan was very communicative throughout the outage. Our wuestions were answered promptly and the location was perfect for our site seeing itinerary.

We had an amazing time visiting the Isle of Skye and the Taigh Dolag house was an amazing place to come back to after a day of hiking and exploring! It was just so cozy and felt like home as soon as we walked in! The views were incredible, sunsets at night, fires in the morning to warm up the house - I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay! Don't hesitate to book this house!

Our stay in Taigh Dolag was an exhilarating experience.The picturesque view from room was always refreshing along with the comfortable warm cozy rooms and beds .The dining room was very spacious and lovely.We loved playing scrabble and card games.The informative books, travel magazines on Skye were lovely to refer for the hikes and explore various places in Skye. Dailag Tolag was an excellent place to call home for 5 days. The Croft was well equiped and very clean. Even had egg cups!! It was very easy to access and really quiet.The views very amazing. Will definitely recommend to my friends.

Our family of 4 ( parents with 2 adult children ) had the privilege to stay at this most amazing cottage for 4 days this last week. We can’t recommend enough to anyone who is planning on traveling to Isle of Skye. The house is perfectly situated on a hillside with amazing view of herds of sheep glazing in the pasture fields right outside of your door. The house is super clean and the bedding is extremely comfortable. I need to get the same bedding for my own house no need to think twice, book this house for your upcoming stay in the Isle of Skye and thank me later !

We thought the accommodation was very clean and comfortable. Views were beautiful. It was centrally located which made it easy to go around the island. There was a small water issue the first day where more proactive communication would have helped, but otherwise everything was smooth. One quick tip is to make sure you bring your own toiletries since other than soap and towels, nothing was provided.

We stayed five nights to explore and hike the island. The cottage was located perfectly to quickly access the walks we chose; the Fairy Pools, The Quiraing, various beaches, etc.We were also close to Portree for shopping, dining and groceries. The cottage was spotless and comfortable. The bedding and towels were luxurious. I can’t say enough about the view from every window, and of course standing outside. The sunsets were spectacular as we were blessed with gorgeous weather. The welcome chocolates and gourmet coffee were nice touches.

My daughter and I stayed at Joan’s while exploring Skye. It’s the perfect location, just 15 minutes or so from Portree and right on the Trotterish loop. But we could also have just stayed at the house and enjoyed the view! Everything about the listing was as advertised and Joan was easy to communicate with. We were sorry we had to leave!

We had a lovely stay in Taigh Dolag. The house is at the end of a cul-de-sac, meaning only the occasional sheep or cow is walking past the house. The house is comfortable and nicely furnished, with lovely touches such as soap made on Skye. We enjoyed the welcome pack consisting of shortbread biscuits, jams and coffee. The kitchen is well equipped but a few more plates, mugs and glasses would have been appreciated, to avoid having to wash up by hand or avoid running a half-empty dishwasher. That said this wasn't a big issue; just mentioning here as a suggestion. Beds were comfortable and duvets nice and warm. There's a log burner in the lounge, we didn't use it though because it was warm enough when we stayed. Portree is only a short drive away and has a large supermarket. All in a wonderful stay!

We so enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage. It was so thoughtfully and beautifully decorated with local Skye art and crafts - not another IKEA cottage! And it was very comfortable and clean. Everything we needed was thought of from cooking meals to providing lots of maps and walking books for walking. It was easy to get to Portree and to explore the Trotternish penninsula and beyond. This was one of my favourite places to stay amongst all my travels. Such a well taken care of property with absolutely stunning views. The host Joan was very welcoming and informative. The check in process was so simple and easy. The location was great, very close to Portree (10min drive) but at the end of a quiet road so there was no traffic noises. I hope I can come back!

In a whirlwind 2 week tour of Scotland: this house was so inviting and beautiful we instantly felt at home in it. Even though it rained nearly every day and we did not get to see a sunset the views from every window were still breathtaking. We had everything we needed and then some! Our stay here was fantastic! (Our GPS said we’d arrived a few houses too early - the place is at the very end of the road). The house was very comfortable for 4 adults - the kitchen and sitting area were large and comfortable. There were gorgeous views from every window and the place was central to everything we did - grocery store was a few minutes drive and some of the classic hikes were close as well (Old Man of Storr, Quiraing). I definitely recommend staying here - it’s quiet and away from the crowds but still close enough to everything

This house is the perfect accommodation for a stay on the Isle of Skye if you are traveling in a group of not more than 4 persons. The house is equipped with absolutely everything you need. It is lovingly decorated and the view from the living room and the master bedroom is breathtaking. Speaking of beds they are so comfy. We would really like to come back some day.
