Cottages Lyndale Farm

This stay turned out to be the highlight of our trip in Scotland. The cottages are lovely and being in the middle of the grazing fields surrounded by sheep and cows is just dreamy (we could have sheep-watched all day). On the day we arrived it had rained heavily and we were soaking wet, it was a pleasure to be welcomed by a warm house (literally, the heating was already on when we checked in). We very much appreciated the wee laundry room as well. The cottage is super clean, all new, and private. It’s very nice to walk around the property.

The location was very convenient, not far from the highway but very quiet. The apartment was self catering, coffee, tea , milk , sugar and oil was provided. It was spotless and beautifully decorated. The host Helen was very helpful and gave us great tips on where to eat.

Instructions for the washing machine and dryer would have been helpful. Everything else was great

We had an absolutely wonderful, relaxing, and comfortable holiday at this property! The entire place was spotless, incredibly clean, and beautifully maintained. The fantastic house decorations added a lovely touch to the overall ambiance, making it feel truly special.

We stayed at Lyndale Farm for four nights with my 8-year-old son, and it was honestly one of the highlights of our entire Scotland trip. The cottage had everything we needed and more – fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, spacious rooms, and spotlessly clean throughout. Practically perfect for a family self-catering stay. But what really made it special was the setting. The farm is wonderfully peaceful and calm, a real escape from everything. My son spent a good amount of time glued to the window nook watching the sheep roam around – simple joy, but the kind of memory that sticks. Animals around the property added a lovely, authentic farm atmosphere that you just can't get in a hotel. Flashader is a beautiful, quiet corner of northern Skye, and having a cosy, well-equipped base here made exploring the island so much more enjoyable. We could come back after a long day of hiking and actually feel at home. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking for a proper, relaxing Skye experience.
