We enjoyed the views from the home. The location near Uig and the Fairy Glen were nice.
The grounds are not kept up, overgrowth in the front and back which takes away from some enjoyable patio spaces.
We arrived late at night and the house looked abandoned. We weren’t even sure if we had arrived at the correct location. There isn’t a front porch light, so finding the key in the lockbox was a bit challenging in the dark.
The facilities are alright. For a family of six adults, there is limited space to sit together outside of the dining table. The beds were alright as far as comfort. It meets very basic needs, with beds in the bedrooms and some furniture that is barely hanging on. We found ourselves staying away from the home and exploring the Isle more than relaxing there due to the lack of couches/chairs.

Second toilet in the upstairs had the window broken.

Location was convenient and house was clean and cute.
Fridge was in the living room.

No coffee maker; couldn’t figure out how to use oven/cooktop; heat and showers were programmed so not enough hot water; no paper towels ; although self catering, there was nothing extra about the property at all. They had a Nescafé pod machine but not everyone has these pods.We had our own coffee but no French press or similar. Contacted host at 6 pm about oven but didn’t get a response until 10 pm. Too much money for this. Needs to have warning about driveway, which is also a busy road. Dangerous.

It was very spacious and had great natural light!
Figuring out the heating was a bit of a struggle, but we did get it on eventually.

Location and view from the front of the cottage was amazing. Plenty of room for the six of us. A few pubs/restaurants for eating near by but we didn't book early enough so had to travel to Portree, so recommend booking your meals asap. Great little supermarket 5 minute walk away if you want to cook for yourselves too.
The microwave kept beeping at us and we couldn't figure out why haha! But that is minor.

Plenty of room, beautiful views and close to the fantastic Ferry Inn. We also had a really delicious meal at the The Uig Hotel up the road.
Bit of a hick up with the hot water and heating but was sorted as soon as I called the owner 😊 Just be careful in the downstairs bathroom if you are getting out of the bathshower- the heated towel rack is right there and my daughter burnt her hand when she was getting out. The pillows were really uncomfortable.

Location
Very musty smell inside, no power points in bathrooms and bill maintenance on the outside.

The property was a good size for party of 5. Good views. As a base property worked well
The only place all 5 could sit together was at the dining table. Not enough seating in lounge areas. Bottom oven didn’t work. Outside areas were overgrown
Not comfortable enough to spend much time in

Location is excellent for exploring Uig and all of Skye. Very spacious and comfortable
Ability to cook and relax after a day out walking in Skye.
TV in sitting room didn't work.
Outside the property, the garden is unkempt which was a shame as it has great potential and lovely views

Location was great, and the house could have been really nice. Living spaces were comfortable, and brand new bathroom mats were lovely.
Unfortunately, the dryer was broken and no drying racks/clotheslines were provided; did not provide enough toilet paper; no hand towels for the bathrooms; the upstairs shower leaks down into the main floor bathroom through the potlights; the large bed in the main bedroom was two twin beds pushed together; and the property is so overgrown - we couldn't approach the house from any side without being brushed by weeds and thorny plants, and the laundry I washed and air dried on chairs in the house had to be rewashed at our next destination because they stunk like mildew from in the house. With a little bit of care, it could be wonderful.

Location is good. The house is big and comfortable with sea view. Well equipped kitchen and have clothes washing and drying machine.
The upper floor toilet is uncomfortable with insects. The microwave and the lower part oven is out of order. The garden grass grew too high without trimming.

This was self-catering. We liked the cleanliness, the well-supplied kitchen, the gracious use of the laundry, the views from the upper floor, the wifi, and the nearby restaurants.
The lawns, walkways and patios are horribly neglected, full of weeds and overgrown -- so much so that the view is obscured from the lower floor. The hosts were unresponsive to our questions and comments about the condition of the exterior property, as it offers a most dismal welcome.

We loved the space and the quiet view. Location was ideal for us and what we wanted to do. loved having breakfast in the garden looking at the view and hearing the nearby sheep.
The garden was overgrown and didn’t seem to be to the standard of the home. Would have loved to have a bit of grass to let the kiddo play on. Also the stairs were very squeaky but that’s to be expected.

The house is very well positioned, you can enjoy a nice view over the port and the landscapes. There are three very large bedrooms, two living rooms, the kitchen is spacious and equipped with everything you need to cook a meal. The house was clean and warm when we arrived, the bedding comfortable. Definitely recommended!

The garden could be better and clean but understood for the weather

The view was amazing. nice space in the house. decently comfortable beds. the projector movie screen
not cleaned well, bathroom window does not lock and it’s not secure, floors are not properly installed and shake the whole house while walking around upstairs. it also makes a lot of noise with the closet doors opening and closing with every step. upstairs shower is out of order, garden is not maintained

There were a lot of spiders and a leak in the bathroom on the second floor

Lovely house and great location
Garden area is a mess. Such a shame as it’s a lovely property.
Also problems with showers which should have been fixed with the price of the property

The location was good. The beds were comfortable
The house and garden were neglected. Uncomfortable furniture. TV impossible to watch. Refurbishment not High end it was basic. Builders rubble in overgrown garden. Builders materials on worktops, discarded fridge freezer with rotting food in utility room. Kitchen poorly equipped and smelt mouldy. Shower on ground floor not working and smelt of drainage upstairs shower room tiny. Glass units in lounge windows cloudy and misty interrupting views. Second TV & IT equip. not connected just full of cabling. Lots of snagging jobs to do. Garden dangerous for children.

Very nice home for a family. Great view.
The yard needed maintenance. We would have loved to use the patio to take advantage of the beautiful sea view

Great location near to where other family were staying in Uig. Located closely to the Rha waterfall which is beautiful. Great views from the property. Uig Hotel is great place to eat at and just down the road.
The property wasn’t as clean as I would expect. Lots of dust- which was found in the twin room when we had to move from downstairs double. Unfortunately mattress too soft in downstairs double so had to occupy twin.
upstairs bathroom in need of updating and unfortunately water leaked through ceiling into bathroom below. Owner good at getting someone out to it though.
Compared to other holiday properties we have stayed at in Skye, this falls below the standard we have become used to and the property feels half finished.
Freezer in back utility area not switched on- looked inside to find mouldy food.
Upstairs banister broken with long nails exposed. Plug out of the wall in the twin so avoided using. couldn’t work the TV in the lounge. shelving area in middle sitting room looked untidy with wiring and items discarded. Could be an amazing place to stay, I can see the potential as it is a large and spacious property. hopefully with some further investment it will reach its potential but in the meantime we would not be returning which is sad to say as we always like to spread the word on great finds.

Property is in a great location with fantastic views of the bay. The layout of the house is great with separate living areas. Bedroom was also very comfy. Some renovation has been carried out which is great - would be beneficial for patio area to be regularly maintained for use by guests. A picnic bench would be perfect and would also provide a good selling point for future guests.
Property has great potential if relevant updates are carried out - bathroom shower not working, cooker hob temperamental, garden overgrown, general cleanliness etc

Ground floor toilet seat was shaking..

Overall decor had been upgraded and was good. It was warm and comfortable. Kitchen was good (needs and electric toaster though). Bathrooms were modern and clean. Location and view were good. Good modern TV which worked well over internet only (iplayer, ITV hub, NEtflix etc all good). Bedrooms very good and comfortable - slept very well.
The collection of electrical (wifi) stuff in 2nd sitting room was untidy and mostly didnt work. Bit frustrating that the TV was internet only so reliant on streaming services. The BT TV box not working as it couldnt connect to the router. No aerial so no freeview terrestrial channels. Biggest minus was that the garden was untidy and could have been such a nice useable space. A few hours spend tidying it up and keeping it that way would make so much difference especially when the weather was as good as it was last week.

The location was great and the cottage has a lot of potential. The beds were very comfy. It has a lot of space and is ideal for a family holiday.
On arrival we found it was not cleaned properly. Which was not acceptable as we had assumed extra care would be take due to Covid. The downstairs bathroom had other guests things left in it and the drawers hadn’t been cleaned. The kitchen cupboards had crumbs in them and the handles and door fronts were still dirty. The window sill was thick of dust and hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. This resulted in us having to clean after our 11 hour journey. The cottage was a little disheveled and was not set up properly for our arrival. My husband and brother in law had to totally set up the tv as it had all been unplugged. The outside of the cottage was overgrown with weeds and the area outside the downstairs bedroom was unsafe to use. The fire blanket was in need of replacing.

Beautiful house not far from Portree. Surrounding area was gorgeous too. Stayed with some friends and it was perfect as there were so many rooms to relax in.
