Staff lovely. Food very nice.

Noisy room, bar to small not enough seating areas.

Lovely clean room with an excellent bed and modern shower. Lovely staff as well, and the hotel ideally placed for exploring the City

Overall, a poor experience and certainly not the claimed Boutique Luxury. We paid for a 2 category room upgrade and got a room (223) that was very tired. Wallpaper peeling off the wall, stained furniture. The was no view at all due to textured toilet style windows and because it was an internal facing room of some metal bracing. There was just 1 chair that had arms! 1 person had to sit on a small stool or the bed. We should have stayed at the Hotel Du Vin for £40 less per night. We wouldn’t have needed to order bathrobes as some special treat. Not worth £100, let alone £160. The only positive was that it was close to better hotels and restaurants.

The room felt tired and needs an upgrade. The hotel is charging a premium and the room did not reflect that. Christmas parties were ongoing so there was loud music. Feel that if they wish to host parties, the rooms should be soundproofed. Loud music from nearby bars/hotels too. Not ideal when you have an early start!

All 3 rooms were very clean and the hotel had overall, a very pleasant mix of classy but unstuffy decor, soft furnishings and and fittings. Some areas, like reception could do with a degree of upgrading, but the Xmas decorations were fabulous

Lovely feel to a place that has been tastefully refreshed. Only downside was the young gentleman behind the bar who made you feel decidedly uncomfortable with his surly/rude demeanour.

The hotel itself is perfect. Beautiful rooms, gorgeous big bed, great breakfast and great were vwry friendly. However, it was one nigt away for my husband birthday. Child free. What we were not informed is that a very loud, very bassy party was going on in the event room below us. We could not sleep. We went to complain but we just had to put up with it until midnight. It would have been nice to be informed as we would have asked to switch rooms.

No heating in room. Air con heating not working, radiators switched on for short time after 24 hours. Following some hassle, provided with electric radiators. Breakfast chaotic first morning (short staffed?). Pity as nice building and location. To be fair requested a received a discount.

We were obviously given the worst room because we booked through expedia. The room was noisy they offered a different room which was the Same. The third room was a 'suite' but Had no heating. And we had to sleep in dressing gowns and socks. Breakfast was dire. Porridge wasn't cooked and the omelette was grey and inedible. Avoid at all costs had

Breakfast was good quality ingredients but ruined by being under the hot plate so very dry when served. The decor needs to be refreshed, but overall room was clean and cosy

A very warm welcome from the reception for a first time stay

The staff were very welcoming on reception upon arrival. The hotel is beautiful and we were able to park in the hotel car park. The overnight charge for this was reasonable at £15.00 and we also had the option to leave the car there after checking out, if we wanted to have a look around the area, at no extra cost. The room was beautifully clean with a large bed and a lovely bathroom with toiletries/towels. We did have a small issue with the control panel for the shower, which had fallen off the wall into the bath. We reported this to reception, as we were not sure if this would present an issue when using the shower, but after pushing it back on the wall, all appeared to be okay. My husband could see that there was tape on the back of the panel, so obviously an ongoing issue and it had fallen off again, when returning to the room after a night out! Reception advised us that no-one was available to look at the shower until Monday, however, if we needed to change rooms, they would organise this for us. A small thing, but a bit annoying was that the glass shower panel was quite small and water leaked over the side and down onto the floor. This was an ongoing issue as water had begun to rot a small section of the wooden bath panel, which is a bit of a shame. One of the bedside lamps was also not working in the room, but this was not an issue for us as there were reading lights above the bed. Overall, we were very impressed with the hotel and the staff and would stay again.

Lovely hotel in a great location.

The room was very clean and confortable. The staff were all very friendly. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious. The only negative was that breakfast was served on very hot plates and my poached egg had a gel like consistency - very unusual.
