A great base for Cheltenham visits.

We have stayed at the Clarence on several occasions and find it comfortable and convenient for Cheltenham's centre. The private parking is also a bonus. The breakfasts are very good with an excellent choice available.

Expensive for what it was

The staff were friendly. It was in a quiet location walkable to the centre. Parking available.

The room was absolutely freezing. It was very dusty and smelt of food. The rooms need seriously updating and cleaning. The chairs in the restaurant were filthy and it just felt unclean. It was so cold in the room and the bathroom, we couldn’t even have a shower!

Spacious, clean and comfortable room with large bathroom with a lovely view over the neighbouring Square and Green. Fantastic breakfast.

During a quiet, midweek in Nov, the Bar closed early and was not open when we returned from the theatre at 2200. A minor but frustrating gripe. Be careful with the steep steps to/from reception to the Car Park.

My stay was perfect for my visit to Cheltenham with due above minor provisos.

Clean. Comfortable. Parking. Lovely staff, very accommodating to a late dinner. Great dining area and super breakfast.

Huge potholes in car park. Although not personally affected, the top rooms are up 4 flights of stairs which would be a problem for the less mobile.

Excellent breakfast, very friendly staff, warm and comfortable throughout,. Prime location for the race course and the shopping centre, yet set in a quiet Regency square

only one small comment, our room had two large mirrors but no convenient socket for the hairdryer-we found one beneath a heavy table and had to stretch the cord to full length, using it while standing

Beautiful Grade ll listed building, in pristine condition.

We had ground floor room and it was absolutely gorgeous and in keeping with the period of the property. We overlooked the gardens across the road and it was a very peaceful and quiet place to stay just off the town centre.

Great location, tired decor.

The location was brilliant, just a short walk into the centre of Cheltenham with access to all the shops, bars and restaurants

The hotel is looking tired and could do with some tlc. The paint work is quite scruffy, and the carpets are old fashioned and look quite worn in places. The bed wasn't the most comfortable as it was 2 singles zipped together and didn't have a mattress topper. We did ask for this to be rectified and somebody said they would resolve it, but didn't.

Everything, it was lovely inside and out. Location wise for town centre perfect a lovely enclosed park on the opposite side of the road. Inside was really well appointed. Staff were really helpful and very friendly. Room was clean, spacious and well appointed. Best breakfast in ages.

Nice size room although I wouldn't call it executve, just Deluxe. Twi.n beds, brilliant. Plenty of storage space Staff were very polite and helpful.

Hotel was difficult to find as there was no signage, Difficult to park as cars were big and over parking lines, High steps to front door. Room was hot, couldn't cool it with the fan, Unable to open windows as bits were falling off and needed restoration, Breakfast was downstairs, steep ones again, For a 'free' breakfast the amount was minimal, ie one rasher of bacon, thin black pudding, thimble full of baked beans, hard small sausage etc

My wife and I spent four lovely days at the hotel and felt a little sad when we left.

The breakfasts at Clarence Court are perfectly adequate. If you wish to have a full English breakfast it is freshly cooked to order. Fruit, pastries, cereals, yoghurt, juices, tea and coffee. The staff serving breakfast are extremely polite and friendly. The location of the hotel is superb. Situated in a very elegant and quiet area opposite a small park. Lovely to sit in or stroll through after breakfast. All this but just a few minutes walk to restaurants and shops. Absolutely ideal.

It's difficult to find anything not to like about Clarence Court. If we are fortunate enough to visit again we may book a larger room but although on the small side the room we had was very comfortable.

It’s located in a quiet, clean and pretty neighbourhood next to a park and 15 mins walk to Pittville Park and high street.

We went there during heatwave and the room was very hot at night although fans were provided.

Stayed in a charming old style hotel in a great location - slightly spoiled by a heat wave.

Nice old style hotel very close to the centre of Cheltenham - walking distance to shops, restaurants, pubs and entertainment. Good bathroom, high standard of cleanliness, parking right outside the door (but limited spaces). High quality cooked breakfast

Water pressure in the bathroom was quite poor, almost no pressure on the shower head. Room temperature was uncomfortably high in hot summer weather - (notices were posted to explain the grade 2 listed status of the building, ruling out fitting of an integral AC system, but would advise the hotel to invest in some portable AC units to make available to the rooms on hotter days - room temperature reached between 27 and 29 degrees for most of our stay). Although good quality food (especially the cooked breakfast) the in-house restaurant had a very limited breakfast choice and very limited dinner menu (which was also a bit pricy).

Exceptional Accommodation!

Every member of staff was very friendly & welcoming. Especially when we asked for an early breakfast on the Saturday as we were attending RIAT, they left breakfast for us in the room fridge. The evening meals are amazing, as is the cooked breakfast. We will definitely be back & would recommend Clarence Court Hotel to anyone!

That the hotel stung me for £5 to pay for my car in their own car park. Just felt greedy would stop me staying again. They just need to add this cost to their overnight stay price and stop this policy.

Fantastic location

The hotel is gorgeous and right by a beautiful square, surrounded by similar houses. The location was great for the main shopping area, bars/restaurants and Pittville Park.

We stayed during a heatwave. Our rooms were on the top floor, and although fans were provided, they had little/no effect. It was stifling day and night. Breakfast was a little chaotic. We had to keep asking for items we'd requested.

Wasp nest in bedroom window frame, death trap shower, pitiful breakfast offering

Health and safety hazard. Booked 2 rooms and requesting a refund. Room 22 had a wasp nest in the rotten window frame so the window had to remain shut during a heat wave. Despite fans provided by staff, the room was a furnace making sleep impossible. In addition, the shower faucet was stuck and released scorching hot water, scalding my young son’s scalp, shoulders and hands. The temperature gauge was stuck. Luckily he jumped back but if it had been an elderly person, it could have caused serious injury. Breakfast was very sad. Recommend avoid this hotel. Shockingly tired hotel charging four star prices.
