The location was great for getting to town . Easy to walk there

Room was not very clean dust all over the wardrobes bed was not very Comfy. Also change you for parking in there car park crazy. The breakfast was the terrible ! Sausage tasted like plastic the scrambled eggs I had had added milk or something looked like prison food really was bad . The carpet in the dining area was black with dirt should get rid of it looks disgusting. We had drink in there bar which was 17 pounds for 2 drinks way to expensive for hotel like this go pub or restaurant in town same drinks 12 pound or under . If the hotel lowered there price people would use the bar more . Never got asked how was your stay or breakfast or anything left over all disappointed

Clarence Court Hotel, charming hotel near city

Very accommodating staff, I arrived late from London, they put a courtsey call that was going beyond most hotels. Room was very very comfortable as well, heating was on and had a lot of amenties in the room/ensuite. Breakfast was nice as well. Will come again soon.

Adequate for a mid week stay

The hotel is in an ideal location with a nice bar setting.

The room was very small, it was fine for 1 person, but if you were to have 2 people in their with luggage it would be a bit pokey.

Excellent location but shame about the lack of a pool.

The presentation and position of the hotel was lovely and very convenient for the town centre of Cheltenham. The staff were really helpful regarding parking and at breakfast. The room was comfortable, clean and well presented. However, we booked the hotel hoping to have a swim and to our surprise there was no pool at the hotel. On bookings.com it says the hotel has a pool but, this is not actually the case. When I asked about the pool, I was told it was a 3 minute walk away and didn't I read the email I was sent 'after' I made my booking. I clearly didn't as I wouldn't have been asking! Now that I have read more reviews, it seems that other people hadn't read the email either. The lack of a pool was a shame as, other than that, the stay was excellent. I feel sorry for the staff. They must have to keep defending the decision to list a pool. It must be very frustrating for them.

Comfortable hotel with the advantage of off road parking and restaurant.

Quiet & beautiful location with private parking. Convenient to have a good restaurant at the hotel. The evening meal was excellent. The Bedroom was warm & well decorated & appointed. Within walking distance of the lower end of the Promenade and shopping

There wasn’t a ‘period’ sitting room for guests to enjoy, which was a great disappointment to us and the only area for relaxation was a small room jokingly called a library in the basement opposite the entrance to a noisy bar and also the dining room, which thankfully was nicely designed. Pity about all the laminate flooring in a listed building which is a shame.

Overnight stay in cheltenham

Lovely spacious room stayed in the suite. Perfect location 5 min walk into town and small hotel car park was great. There is an ncp right around the corner too. Breakfast and service was fabulous 👌 cosy little bar underneath the hotel tastefully decorated and great if too tired to go out. Staff friendly and the hotel has lovely period features. Would definately recommend.

Lovely location and common areas

Location is great . The fact that they ate dog friendly is amazing and the park in front is great for walking the dog.

My room was located at the reception level besides the toilets for the restaurant. Some noise from the people going to the toilet and also noise from pipes or HVAC was a bit annoying. Pillows were just ok. Good that they felt like new but still they were a bit rigid.

Location, perfect. Staff helpful. Room comfortable, but a bit tired.

Very cold-no radiators on anywhere in hotel. radiator in room 21 didnt work, and the restaurant was freezing. Nice evening meal, but turkey & stuffing lukewarm at best. At reception we were told we didn't need to book for evening meal. The looks on the restaurant staff faces when we said that, said otherwise! Slow evening meal service and 1 breakfast served long before the other persons toast came out. No glass in bedrooms, had to use a teacup for a glass of water. A box of tissues would have been useful too. Wifi password in the bedroom guest book is wrong!

The room (1) was on the ground floor next to the office and where you could hear everything people coming and going on their phones long conversations outside the door The room was very small and the beds were very small .we were meant to stay for two nights but left and cut our trip short

A great base for Cheltenham visits.

We have stayed at the Clarence on several occasions and find it comfortable and convenient for Cheltenham's centre. The private parking is also a bonus. The breakfasts are very good with an excellent choice available.

Expensive for what it was

The staff were friendly. It was in a quiet location walkable to the centre. Parking available.

The room was absolutely freezing. It was very dusty and smelt of food. The rooms need seriously updating and cleaning. The chairs in the restaurant were filthy and it just felt unclean. It was so cold in the room and the bathroom, we couldn’t even have a shower!
