Very welcoming staff and very helpful, we advised we have two small dogs with us and were informed there was a fee, which was no problem. In the room there were two dog beds, 4 dog bowls and a small doggy bag which included treats, a ball and poo bags.
Amazing room with the world's longest bathroom!
Main lights in the room did not work, staff looked at it and no explanation given. Also lift was not working but didn't affect us in anyway

Was given a dirty room that hadn’t been made up.
Changed rooms and this one didnt have any shower gel (the bottle was completely empty).
Only one staff member was around for check-in but was not there permanently so had to wait.
Was quite noisy in the early morning (possibly due to building works)

The location was perfect
Waiting to check in due to one member of staff only on reception. Having to find someone on several occasions to serve us at the bar. The rooms were very dimly lit and the side lights were flickering, staff said it was a wall switch issue. I also don't usually stay were dogs are allowed. Dogs and nice hotels is a big no for me

Great hotel, stylish, clean & great location. Staff were lovely & extremely helpful. We had our little pup with us & they were super accommodating & even set up a little table for us just to the side of the bar area so we could dine in for dinner & breakfast & have our pup sit with us.

Wonderful breakfasts both days in a beautiful spacious downstairs area. But these were extra and very expensive. Staff were always friendly and very helpful. Lift not working. Lovely spacious shower, but for safety a grab rail woud be a useful improvement. Draft through one window. No toilet brush. But lovely soaps, hand creams, etc. Luxurious and spacious bed with excellent TV and reasonable lighting. Towel rail didn't get hot, but powerful radiator in bathroom did. Excellent meal in th Bistro in the evening, but it was seriously expensive, Great location for walking into town and to catching busses, etc. We had a particularly good trip to Nature in Art to see the Michael Fairbairn memorial exhibition of glass engraving, Crystal Clear.
Some costs were ecessive but races that weekend limited choices and inflated prices. Awful for staff, as we saw them carrying very heavy suitcases upstairs because lift not work. A prestigious and expensive hotel should maintain its lift!

We were greated by friendly, helpful staff. The bedroom was beautifully decorated and our sizeable bathroom had a roll top bath. We had the dinner, bed and breakfast offer, which was good value.
Nothing.

Both the evening meal and the breakfast were excellent. The room was ok, bed very comfortable and toiletries were lovely.
I would say that the hotel pays a lot of attention to detail and I cannot fault it, it was a fantastic stay.
Although the rain shower was very good, I would have preferred it it was in an enclosed cubicle as opposed to a bath with a shower curtain, as it was difficult to stop the water from soaking the floor.

Breakfast was very nice
Check in was very slow even though I have supposedly Checked in on line.
Lots of stairs, both up and down to get to our room, which had not been in the hotel information
Dinner in the bistro had a very limited menu and one of the beef dishes had a very high fat content. Whilst they offered to replace it, that was going to take a long time and disrupt our time.
It's a shame about these issues as the hotel seemed to have a lot of character

Excellent location,easy parking,nice decor
The property needs secondry double glazing throughout, the rooms are cold and when it is very cold outside they never get warm enough even with the extra radiators supplied. The lift is STILL unserviceable! It was unserviceable two months ago! This is not acceptable.

Even though we had booked the cheapest room available, we found out that the room was quite spacious - which enabled us to move comfortably in it. The room and the bathroom were spotless clean. The curtains allowed us to fully darken the room for a good sleep, which was exciting at the beginning of our intended sleep.
Because the building was kind of ancient (but renovated), we kept hearing noises from the heating pipe the whole night although we had turned off the A/C hours ago. Moreover, much noise came from the outside, too. Therefore, we couldn’t sleep for several hours.

Beautiful building with individual rooms having own style and feel.
Front of house staff are very helpful.
Peaceful environment.
Signage to rooms is confusing as they’re called after wines which is nice and also tricky to work out as a guest.

Staff were welcoming on arrival to the hotel which is very near the center of the city. Clean, tidy and well equipped room. The shower has to the largest I can remember and there was even a bath as well ! Excellent breakfast.
Parking could have been included, but then again then again all the local roads were pay and display. Might check to see if the races were occurring as that added to the popularity on the day.

Well placed for amenities and quirky
Absurd not to have a mirror over the bath room sink. Way too hot in all corridors and public areas

Central location, great staff and excellent service. We ate in the Bistro and everything was very good
Getting lost each time I tried to find my room.

The room was lovely, the bed was extremely comfortable and the staff were all lovely.
The heated towel rail didn't work in my bathroom which meant my towels didn't dry properly and the bathroom felt cold (I was offered fresh towels, so can't complain).

Everything, our fifth stay.
We had problems with the heating and towel rail in the bathroom. Seemed to just be on one side of the hotel.

The decor inside is beautiful. And the rooms are very clean and comfy. The bar is excellent. A great place for a quiet drink or meeting. Also the location is beautiful and very handy for Cheltenham shopping and festivals.
My room did not have a proper walk in shower, it was a shower fitting on a bath which is more uncomfortable. I had to bend down and it was difficult getting in and out. Also the water temperature was not constant.

Breakfast not so good for us. First my eggs weren’t cooked, then came back and were solid. Bacon was dehydrated. Ended up eating 1 slice of toast and half a cup of bad coffee. They did agree to deduct the cost from our bill

Great location girl who served us breakfast was fantastic so friendly and helpful and the food was outstanding so tasty
the lift was not working and this hotel has a lot of stairs, we ended up and ground floor first room had a blacked out window which i was not happy to stay in and then offered an alternative looking into the garden which was lovely

The standard of room. Tge way we were greeted by staff. The friendliness of staff.
There were no bar staff when we got back to the hotel.. someone who'd obviously never worked in a bar was trying to serve everyone.

Our second stay and it didn’t disappoint. Love the grand building and beautiful bar. The room was large and the bathroom was huge!
Only one minor issue we found which was that there was no surface to sit the kettle on where the plug would reach the socket.
