All i all friendly staff and a good breakfast, however the spiders in the room were very irritating.

Nice beach vibe but hard to sleep with the ongoing noise from the refrigeration unit on the property.

I was offered no charge for a night - which was very kind. Then after I left they charged me - and charged me more than the first night.

Central Location in Neuchatel

Hotel Beaulac is a typical large city hotel in a good, central location on the lakes edge. Our lake view room was well sized, clean and thankfully air conditioned because it was very hot during our stay. Although we had a lake facing room the view of the lake was obstructed unless we stood right next to the window due to a concrete facade which was about a metre away from the actual building. Our first floor room also had a "view" of a flat sheet metal roof which was very unattractive so would suggest asking for a room on one of the higher floors. Hotel parking is limited but there is a public car park very close by. If you are arriving by train you will need to take a taxi as the station is too far from the hotel if you have luggage. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was plentiful and more than adequate. We did not use any of the other facilities except for a drink at the the rooftop bar which had a lovely view of the lake in the evening.

Wonderful hotel. A real favourite

We had a beautifully well appointed room on the second floor overlooking the lake and looking towards the High Alps and the Jungfrau. The marina is adjacent the hotel so you can sit having lunch as we did while watching the comings and goings of the various yachts and boats. The rooftop terrace is well shaded from the sun and has a range of cocktails and snacks on offer. The art museum is right opposite the hotel and it’s an easy walk to other attractions. Car parking is easy and convenient. I must mention the staff who were all unfailingly pleasant, helpful, polite and obliging. They made us feel incredibly welcome. I hope to return for longer next time!

The only thing I can think of is it would be nice if the hotel had its own car park, but this is a minor criticism. The nearby car park is €1 per hour at the time of writing, but free on Sundays. Do look out for the dropped kerb if you’re driving in front of the hotel!

Perfect

A very comfortable and pleasant stay from start to finish. Love the location on the lake front by the harbour, staff were professional but friendly and the breakfast was exceptional.

The location is good and the view is stunning

This property is seriously overrated and overpriced. Maybe some rooms are better than others but ours could definitely use some serious updating - the paint is cracked all over the ceiling, furniture chipped, the bathroom tired and the bed headboard very dirty at the level where one’s head would rub against it. Upon arrival we discovered some small blood stains on the bedsheets - these were promptly changes when we told the staff but it made for a poor first impression. The breakfast is very very basic - no options for freshly cooked eggs and very limited choice. We ended up eating boiled eggs every day (which maybe is not bad but definitely not worth the breakfast price). Service did not exist at breakfast - other than asking for your room number, no welcome, no guidance to where’s what, no coffee or anything else. We’ve also had an issue with the parking as we had asked to reserve a spot but were told one was not available in the lot in front of the hotel, but we did see a spot empty for the entire duration of our stay. We parked in a nearby public garage - very close and cheaper than what the hotel is offering. Overall, very very disappointing experience.

Wonderful location with a welcoming staff and pleasant atmosphere. A good breakfast to start the day with, and the sites to visit at the doorstep.

The restaurant was booked on a Saturday night, so do get reservations.

Strategically located facing the lake and 5 min walk to the city centre

The hotel is strategically located facing the Neuchatel lake, giving the rooms an amazing view over the lake all the way across. It is 5 minutes walk from the centre and one minute to the quay, where at nights there are many bars, restaurants and is lively with locals and tourists.

The fact that I was advised not to open the widows because if the potential presence of mosquitoes. I wish they had mosquito screens on the windows

Lovely hotel and great location. We had a lake facing room that was very clean and a very comfortable bed . Amazing view The roof top bar was very lovely for pre evening drinks We reserved a parking space ahead and we parked just outside the hotel .

Gorgeous location, nice hotel with amazing staff but be careful with parking

The location of the hotel couldn't be better. A really gorgeous port in a really cute city. Of course the Lake view would've been better but even the city view had it's charm. The staff was incredibly nice and very helpful after some misunderstandings and uncomfortable happenings. Everybody tried to make our stay as good as possible. The Rooftop Bar is gorgeous, the view just magnificent and if you book breakfast you definitely get a really yummy and great one just be careful of the little birdies, which want to steel your food :-D. All in all we would recommend staying here!

Be careful with parking, the ticketing people are everywhere and they don't care if you speak french or not! Parking can be super expensive but sometimes you can park for free but be aware you still need to pull a ticket out of the ticket machine, which we didn't know! We only put the parking clock out and got a ticket! The good thing is that parking is free from 9pm-7am so if you are doing daytrips it's not bad. There is a huge parking lot 2min walking from the hotel. The rooms could be a tiny bit bigger, because it is hard to get in and out when the bed is directly "in" the door

The roof top bar is very impressive. However, if it was less formal it would create a warmer atmosphere. Maybe it's just me but I'd love if hotels provided a harder memory foam type pillow. I miss my pillow !!

Neuchâtel is a perfect destination for a short break.

There was a water bowl, dog food and a dog blanket in the room to welcome our dog! This is the first time we have this and it was really highly appreciated. Neuchâtel is a very nice spot for a short break. Additionally, a gift card is offered to hotel guests (any hotel) with free or discount activities, including a 1 hour cruise, public transportation or museums entry for example.

It is hard to comment on "value for money" as Swiss hotels are expensive but we would stay again!

Room size and view; breakfast; dinner; the reception staff and the staff in the restaurant. All very helpful and kind. Also superb mattress and bedding. Great walk in shower and towels of excellent quality.

The toilet seat was loose - very annoying. A fixture on the right hinge is missing causing the problem. Also the rim of the ceramic pan has staining on the right hand side that looks like mould. The staff using the store room next to us (we were in room 30) were having a great time slamming doors and making a lot of noise at night when we were trying to get to sleep - also very annoying.

A beautiful hotel, with a fantastic rooftop restaurant overlooking a fascintating lake Neuchatel

My name is Michael Lucas, Tatyana is my wife, we came to the hotel from Miami to celebrate a New Year's Eve 2023. We had an unbelievable time. Nicolas Muller - the hotel's food and beverage manager, organized for the guest's of the hotel a fantastic, high quality New Year's Eve party in the rooftop hotel restaurant overlooking the magnificent lake Neuchatel! Though we did not have a reservation for the New Year's Eve celebration which had all been sold out, he managed to accommodate us as well. Nicolas Muller's professionalism has no limits or boundaries, Nicolas is a detail-oriented high-professional with top skills in hospitality management. He can make people happy even in unpredictable situations. Thank you Nicolas, you made us happy on the New Year's Eve 2023 and you make this hotel a better place and we will by all means come back to your hotel again to experience a high level food and beverage service. The room which we were given was not exactly the room we paid for. We were supposed to have a king size bed facing the lake view, but our bed was facing a wall with TV and the lake view was from the side, which had some blocks obstructing the lake view and we also were give disrespectfully the lowest floor, though I asked for a higher floor, we made such a long trip to the hotel from the USA and I think this request should have been met, this was very unfortunate I should have complained but I did not have strength to fight the receptionist after a long tiring trip from Miami, all we wanted was just to get rest, so we put up with the room which we did not really like and had to pay top dollar for it.

Very poor

Terrible. I liked nothing

The purpose of our coming to this hotel December 29 to January 2nd was a New Yesr celebration in the rooftop restaurant. Once we got to the hotel we found out that all the seats in the rooftop restaurant were sold and that we could not even get to that restaurant to a bar for a drink. Just imagine our frustration, we flew to thar little town from Miami to celebrate a New Year's Eve and we could not even have a drink. And while booking there was not even an option to reserve a spot in the restaurant for the New Year celebration. The room which we paid for was supposed to have a straight lake view, believe me the view was ugly through some kind of blocks and it was a side view, not straight. We are very disappointed for what we got for the price we paid. And when I was refused a drink at the rooftop restaurant on 31st of December that was the last nail on the coffin I am so sorry to have come to this hotel. The restaurant management does not have a slightest respect to its guests. Do not go there!

Well located hotel

Rooftop bar is lovely with a great view over the lake. The rooms are clean and well appointed. It is a shame more of them don’t have balconies. Good selection at breakfast, nice to be able to sit next to the lake.
