We greatly enjoyed our stay at Ai Cherubini. This property is not a hotel nor an AirBNB...it is something in between--a residenzia. There is someone on the front desk during the day, the room was cleaned daily and we had a front door key. Our room and bathroom were both very nice and spacious. The staff was wonderful--positive and helpful at every encounter. The location was outstanding...very close to the "bus"(boat) stop plus, easy to walk to all key attractions. Good restaurants nearby. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Our recent stay at this hotel in Venice was, unfortunately, the worst we’ve experienced—and we travel often. What was promised on the website did not reflect the reality at all, and it made for an uncomfortable few days that left us frustrated and disappointed. To start, the listing advertised that the room had central air, which played a big role in our decision to book. However, when we arrived, we found that the air conditioning in the room did not work at all. With no staff on-site at night and no way to contact anyone (unless we had WhatsApp), there was absolutely nothing we could do about it. We tried opening the windows, but that only let in small bugs, and the room quickly became hot and stuffy. It made for a very unpleasant night.The condition of the hotel itself was far from ideal. We understand that Venice is a very old city and that charm often comes with age—but this place felt more neglected than charming. The floors in our room were noticeably uneven, and even the bed was slanted. I ended up sleeping on my husband’s side because the bed tilted in that direction. It was genuinely uncomfortable and unlike anything we’ve experienced in other older European hotels. Overall, this stay was not at all what we expected. We can deal with older accommodations and modest settings, but basic comfort and communication should never be optional. This hotel fell short on too many fronts, and we would not stay here again or recommend it to others.

Had a great 3 days. The hotel is well located - easy access to all attractions and great coffee shops and restaurants - clean and decorated in Venetian style. Staff were helpful and friendly. It is not disable friendly - no lift - steep stairs - banisters a bit wobberly. This did not spoil our enjoyment. Thank you! X

The hotel is quite old and in need or repair. Perhaps this is common in Venice hotels but I was not aware as this was my first time. The staff were excellent, courteous, helpful and the location was walkable to many sights. There was no elevator and my room was on the fourth floor. If you have mobility issues please select another hotel. The hotel was kind enough to send me a message the day before with instructions for which water ferry stop to take and how to reach the hotel from the ferry.

Beautiful small traditional hotel away from the crowds but within walking distance of main attractions. There is a little Bakery a few minutes walk away which serves delicious pastries and coffee for breakfast. Hotel was very clean and in classic Venetian style. You could see the property was well maintained. A short walk from the Water Taxi so very convenient. Our room was situated on the 3rd floor and was really warm, bearing in mind it was early April. Air Conditioning worked but did not cool the room adequately so would be a sauna in the summer. Would definitely stay again but would ask for a room on a lower floor.

The one thing positive was the cleaning lady. She was amazing and the room was very well clean. Anything was done to hell. I was a Gold VIP customer and the hotel, even though they had rooms available to upgrade, they did not. I only booked the hotel because they advertised VIP access, which in reality, according to their front desk, “they don’t offer it.” I felt a bit betrayed. That was strike one. Next, they didn’t have any even a lobby, bar or coffee machine on the room. Even for a drink you had to pay $10 Euros. I don’t recommend this hotel at all. They promise what they don’t offer. And you can do a lot better for your money in Venice. Do yourself a favor, book a real hotel, because this felt like a room front a house. Nice in pictures, not but a hotel at all!
