Short walk into the centre of town .comfortable bed and bedding. Exceeded my expectations and good value for money. It was quiet no noisey neighbours, except for early morning traffic. Although saying that I would book again if I was in Buxton.

Sparsely decorated. White goods in kitchen old.we had to throw away fresh produce as the fridge had frozen them. Really needs replacing.

The bedroom is at the front of the property, but road noise was not a problem at any point. We weren’t even disturbed by dustcarts on bin day. There is an extremely useful chest of drawers in the bedroom, with lots of smallish drawers, ideal for keeping everything organised during a short stay. There is also a single fitted wardrobe, and most usefully for us, lots of fitted shelves in the second alcove. The mattress is extremely soft and comfortable. The living room includes a two-seater sofa, armchair and a small dining area. As an insomniac, I spent much of two nights on the sofa, and it was very comfortable. As with the bedroom, there were lots of shelves, which were very useful for keeping all of our miscellaneous bits and bobs on. It was really nice to see some cook books provided. So many places don’t seem to expect guests to actually use the self-catering facilities. With regards to the kitchen, we were really happy. It was the best equipped kitchen that we have had in any guest accommodation. There are under counter units, including a fridge, separate freezer and slimline dishwasher. The cooker was easy to use, as was the microwave. The inclusion of an air fryer was an unexpected bonus. Absolutely brilliant. The bathroom is a good size. The only slight issue is that it is down a small step, which we were a bit worried about not falling down for the first day or two, until we got used to it. Nothing that can be done about that I’m sure. It’s the way the building is, and we just had to make sure that we paid attention going into the bathroom for the first couple of days until it became habituated. The bath is really long, and the water temperature easy to manage. My husband assures me that the shower is similarly straight forward. Great to see the inclusion of a non-slip bathmat in the bath. Location wise – Belvedere was perfect for us.

The areas for improvement are really small - for example, we would prefer a pyrex measuring jug in the kitchen. For a summer stay, a lighter duvet would have suited us a little better.
