Super stay in the most charming, cosy and well-stocked self-catered accommodation!

Everything about our stay at Chateau Clemency was just right. The comfort and quality of room and its facilities, to the shared spaces, especially the lovely kitchen which had everything we needed to self-cater. We thoroughly enjoyed using the wood fire in the secret space across from the castle.

Can't really think of anything to improve our stay, except for slightly more reliable wifi (dropping in/out a little bit over our time there).

this mini castle and the room look exactly as they are presented in the photos in the description on the website, which by the way, is extraordinarily well done and where you can find all the information you need for a surprise-free stay. if you are the type of person looking for fluffy carpets on the floor, a massage tub or other modern amenities, look for another accommodation. on the other hand, if you are looking for a different and special accommodation, a place that combines the old and the new, and a place that you will definitely remember, this is the perfect choice. for those who are extremely sensitive to noise, I would mention that the location is right next to a church, and the daily bell at 7 am will ring your alarm, which at the same time can also be interpreted as part of the story you are part of. Also for people who are extra sensitive to sounds, any conversation in the hallway can be heard in the room (those doors are a few hundred years old though) and not all people know how to speak in a whisper 😅 In fact, the peace and comfort of the room are superlative, it must be recommended and tried. The fact that there is a free parking space near the property is a big plus.

Really nice host and a beautiful restored castle makes a great stay

The castle has been beautifully restored, and the rooms are designed with great taste. The host is very welcoming and knows how to share the castle’s mysterious atmosphere with the guests in a charming way. There’s a well-stocked fridge in the shared kitchen, which was a real treat. It’s filled with drinks and snacks you can purchase if you get thirsty. Parking was easy (though one Belgian guest with an oversized car could definitely use a refresher on how to park considerately).

The Wi-Fi wasn’t always perfect, but it generally worked well enough. There were quite a few spiders and old webs, which I had to bravely shield my partner from 😁. A bit more cleaning in that regard would be nice—though admittedly, it does add to the authentic castle atmosphere.

Superb Chateau experience.

Lovely old Chateau tastefully renovated with spectacular artwork and yet retaining lots of the original features. Great care taken to my booking by the owner, lovely large room, comfortable bed, efficient washing facilities, honesty bar, great communal kitchen. This was a great find for us and well worth a return visit, loved our two days.

A quirky one off!

The chateau is very quirky and a fascinating place to stay. The kitchen was well equipped and it was great to have our own fridge and an honesty system for drinks and snacks (although we didn’t actually use them). We liked having plenty of space and a living room area.

Nice Historic Building Stay in Southern Luxembourg

Nice historic structure in southern Luxembourg. Parking was easy by the church just behind the building. The building itself is interesting with a good renovation. The room was nice, large, and well-lit. The bed was comfortable, though a bit low to the floor. Our room was themed after mining that historically occurred presumably nearby. The art on the wall of the room is a bit specific and may not be to everyone’s taste, though not bad by any means. The bathroom is large and worked fine; there is a caution of hot water volume, but for us and most should not be an issue. There is shared kitchen space and lounge on the first floor that we really did not use, but looked like a good setup. It is a bit dark on this floor due to fewer windows and landscaping on the outside, but lighting keeps it reasonably lit. Do note, if you want to have tea, you have to use the kettle in the kitchen, but coffee pods with maker are in the room. Area is a bit suburban in feel being about 30 minutes from central Luxembourg City. The walk to the nearby restaurants is easy and the nearby bakery works well. We went to the food truck that is described as being there 1x/week - it worked fine. Otherwise, there are not a lot of things to do nearby - so a good base, but really need a car.

Be aware that the steps to the second floor are uneven - think of the type you find in old churches. There is no elevator - expected - but could pose a problem if you do not have reasonable balance when hauling luggage up and down.

Château de Clemency hotel was very interesting and amazing, ancient stone staircase, creaking floorboards, very unique decor. We stayed in the Sherlock room and it was like sleeping in a history lesson - brilliant. The rooms were very clean, the communal kitchen. Pets are welcome, two nights cost 20 euros. Great hosts, lots of information was given to us before our arrival. One of the most interesting places I've stayed!!! Thank you

Charming and original place. A cosy and nice atmosphere and very friendly staff

I loved the decor and the vibe of the place. Each room is different and with its own personality, all are arranged in very good taste. I particularly loved my room called roaring 20's; it felt cosy and had an "at home" feel. The staff was helpful and friendly, provided lots of useful information and tips. would love to go back for a longer stay

It was really quirky, the owner was so friendly and the information provided was excellent. It was an excellent place to explore Luxembourg from and was good value compared to staying closer to the city. The bakery opposite made for an excellent breakfast. Parking facilities were good too. We absolutely adored Luxembourg so will definately be back to explore some more

A beautifully presented castle full of character and charm. Self catering with use of kitchen for breakfast. Our host was very helpful during check-in and with finding a restaurant for dinner.

Looking for a quiet and clean stay with a lot of character? This is the place to be!

We had a wonderful stay in the Tribute room. I don't think I ever took so many pictures of the interiour as I did at Château de Clemency. Friendly and helpful owners, nice hidden quiet places to have a rest (indoors and outdoors), a very clean and very bright room. When we arrived after a full day on our motorcycle we had a rest in the garden and in the morning we had breakfast on the terrace in the sun. Just perfect to charge up our battery again for another day on the road.

A truly outstanding place for anyone who values creativity and warm hostpitality.

What a fantastic place! We really enjoyed the love and creativity that went into the concept of the different rooms, as we did the welcoming hospitality of our host Mayke. Overall the hotel features a very unusual concept which resembles more a personal visit to a private house as opposed to a classic hotel concept. So not much of traditional services expected from a hotel. But more than compensated by a sense of traditional warm hospitality and options to cater for yourself, if wanted.

Nothing really to complain. As sometimes with fancy interior decoration concepts, its not utmost practicality what was looked at. But well, trading between standard functionality of an ordinary bathroom vs. the inspiring concepts found here, it was no tough choice for us to make!

Wouldn't recommend this place.

Weird smell in the bathroom. Told to buy my own milk when they ran out. For the price I paid, I'd expect milk to be included. And told to use soap for my hair when there was no shampoo. I think there was a lack of attention to the little things - and that bathroom really smelled bad. It's on a busy road and it's really really small.

Shampoo, or lack there off, we washed with the soap available and that did not agree with our hair at all. Its a minor complaint and not a showstopper at all.

Superb!

Wow what a place and what a pair of hosts! From the moment we pulled up Maykes smiley welcoming, we knew we had found a gem of a place. The rooms are all fantastically decorated and complete homage to Pascals unique eye for making a space look special and his pure passion for the Chateau and his vision. We loved the Chateau and the it’s hosts so much we stayed an extra night (and could have quite happily stayed for much longer). We will certainly be back and are already planing our return trip!

Spectacular, theatrical property that also gets all the fundamentals right

Incredibly characterful accommodation - a stylish and evocative mixture of the ancient and the modern. Lots of wonderful details and unusual features. Great.variety to the rooms. We stayed in the Tribute room on the way down and in the Sherlock room on the way back, having enjoyed our stay so much the first time. Both were great. All in all a comfortable and exciting place to stay. Communication from the host (Mayke) was excellent and the warmth of her welcome was also exceptional.

WiFi was occasionally a bit hit and miss but not a big problem.

The perfect venue to visit Luxembourg!

Hospitality of hostess Mayke amazing! Really cool venue, each room is totally unique. Greeted with Glühwein and coffee which made us feel very welcome and settled.

A little bit cold as it's a castle and isn't totally heated everywhere. Applies to the shower which can take a bit of time to warm up.
