The hotel is like a museum, it is in dire need of renovation, and we were in the hotel over the weekend, on the first floor, room 102, and the noise from the bar was completely disturbing us until midnight.

The bathroom was a very decent size but in need of updating. Badly fitted shower curtain in a bath meant water everywhere that had to be mopped up. Time for separate enclosed shower please.

Wish I had booked more than two days at your perfect hotel and absolutely wonderful country!

Extremely well maintained and clean hotel. The Christmas decorations all over the hotel were so beautiful. Perfect location. The entire staff from front desk, room attendants, bar/lounge servers and breakfast servers were so friendly and welcoming.

Only a suggestion, but a larger shower curtain to cover the entire tub so less water gets on floor.

Location was perfect

The location is fabulous we were opposite the Christmas market. If you go out of the hotel and turn left and walk 5 mins to the white court buildings you can get the lift down to the Grund well worth a visit. The town centre is at the back of the hotel. The hotel is very quirky it has a very old lift alongside the more modern one I loved it. The decor is in keeping with the age of the hotel some on here say it’s dated but I disagree it adds to the charm of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and their English was perfect. One last thing and most important it was spotlessly clean.

iDiSCi-TRAVEL REVIEW: Hotel Over Rated! The hotel is over priced and everything is old and smelly. I’ve stayed in old hotels before that have been renovated in its original time, but I feel that here, everything has been used and needed to be renovated (fresh). 1) ROOMS: - No AC and STUFFY (No air conditioner) Still no fresh air due to the widow only opens to a dusty, dirty area. So I opened the window anyway and I could hear the people in the bar downstairs. - Has OLD CARPET and the BED was too hard. - SHEETS: We’re so hard, it was like I was sleeping with sheets made out of News-Paper. - PILLOWS were just like not having one ( Flat). - STUFFY SMELL and LOUD: I couldn’t sleep because of the noise and no fresh air. - TV was so small and all doors could not close properly. They got stuck either on the floor or just did not fit. 2) FRONT DESK - RUDE: The guy at the desk said that I was not allowed to use the towel to dry my face because if my makeup or mascara on the towel, they will charge me for cleaning or a new towel (REALLY?) I have never had this in any hotel 😳 ALL in ALL - Not worth the money and should be rated as a 3 star, definitely not a 4 star.

Excellent, unique and full of character

The hotel is perfectly located and within walking distance of everything in the city centre. We had a fabulous view from our 6th floor room. The staff were attentive when we needed anti-allergy bedding and then checked with us afterwards to ensure we were happy. A lovely touch! The decor is really delightful! They've kept items everywhere from the past, even if obsolete. There's such a nostalgic feel. The breakfast is served in a beautiful room and there's an extensive choice! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, we loved it. We will definitely stay here when back in Luxembourg.

I thought this hotel was perfect for me. The bed, pillows and duvet were the best.

It was perfectly located for me. I had never been to Luxembourg so I was guessing at where I would like Eto stay and this hotel was perfect for me.

I thought the breakfast was either cold or tepid. No really hot food and all teh breadstuffs came out of a refrigerator. There was only white bread for toast.

Old world charm in a prime location

Old world charm in a prime location. For this price this is definitely a hotel to recommend in Luxemburg! Our room was big and even though the bathroom was very retro it was spotlessly clean and very functional. The staff was very friendly and the fresh apples brought to our room was a lovely touch! A small but a very nice gesture. Breakfast was good and the location could not be better in this city!

Beautiful old style hotel. Breakfast room was presented amazingly with table cloths & nice cutlery etc. Good selection of food which was very tasty. Front facing room had a beautiful view & all was going well until….

The temperature was unbearable to sleep in. I knew there was no air con, what I didn’t expect was no fan in the room. You have to ask for a fan in reception & they had run out! Please put fans in the wardrobe, it shouldn’t be pot luck if you get one. Have flannels in the room so they can be used to wet in extreme heat. Don’t price small bottles of cold water in the mini bar at 4.50 each

Sleepless in Luxembourg- Good view, shame about the rest

Location & view

The room was smaller than represented by the photos in your system. The beds were too soft and the room was too hot & uncomfortable. We knew there was no ac however due to external shutters, curtains not closing, a busy road and noisy environment outside plus the rainy weather it was not possible to open windows or have any ventilation. The breakfast was ok however if you didn’t arrive one hour before close you only had what was left over and items were not replenished

Great retro style hotel

This retro style hotel was perfect for a weekend getaway to Luxembourg. The location was perfect - I don’t think you could beat it. A view of the golden lady from our room and all attractions a couple of minutes walk away. Tram and bus services are nearby too. A decent breakfast added to the experience. Overall the staff were excellent. A warm welcome at all times of day, especially at night with the gentleman on the desk. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

It was quite warm and it was hard to cool the room without AC but I guess that’s what you get for a retro hotel. There have been some renovations but it’s still dated in places. It all adds to the char, though.

Expectations exceeded

Over grand hotels can suffer from faded grandeur, this one didn't. Everything was clean, comfortable and well maintained. Bedroom lovely and the bathroom huge.

Perfect location but some issues which could have been avoided

Location Staff particularly the daytime concierge who helped with advice on sightseeing/ transport to Coque and very concerned about my very bruised finger Bar staff member who helped with mobile when the boarding pass disappeared

Room difficult to unlock damaged my finger to the extent I had to ask the concierge to send someone every time I went to my room. Room of on 6th floor when there were obviously better rooms available The room was very small, noisy at night Ventilationsystem /heating but I had to keep the window open as this small room was very hot. No bath plug

Nice hotel, officially has a policy of taking a deposit but this did not actually happen

Great location in the centre. Comfortable room Was told on arrival that a deposit of 250 euro would be taken but despite presenting my card this was never taken, and hence never needed to be refunded, therefore don't worry about it. Perhaps they just take the card details? Breakfast was very good and varied Despite some reviews mentioning high charges for WiFi it was free and reliable during our stay, so again nothing to worry about there

According to booking.com our room was supposed to have a view of the valley but it had no such thing. When I asked at reception I was just told sorry there are none currently available... The room was a bit on the small side, in fact the bathroom seemed bigger than the bedroom

Hotel Cravat located on the best corner of the city! It’s close to every attraction, transportation, restaurants, town entertainment. The staff is great! The breakfast area above expectations, the food was delicious! The only thing the hotel doesn’t have air conditioning but administration notified immediately while I was booking this hotel. It was not a surprise for us, and we truly didn’t need one. Thank you for providing us with the best service!
