This cosy and welcoming apartment is light and airy with a central location giving you stunning views over the bonnie Oban Bay and the Islands beyond of Kerrera, Mull & Lismore.
This apartment boasts an open plan kitchen, dining, and sitting area with traditional stonework to highlight its true character and bay windows to highlight the views. The bedroom decorated to a high standard with a separate dressing area to complement its copious space. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, basin, and a WC with a lovely boat theme to match the location.
Situated in the heart of Oban, known as the “Sea food capital of Scotland” Imperial Apartment has a lot to offer, with restaurants, bars, an abundance of curio shops, and our very own famous Oban distillery all on your doorstep, you will be spoilt with choice. Only a two-minute walk to the ferry terminal gives you the perfect start for touring the Islands and for the outdoor enthusiasts there are numerous walks, cycles and sea safari trips that give you a glimpse of the abundance of wildlife and the famous Correvrekan Whirlpools.

An apartment in an outstanding Oban waterfront location with wonderful views. Comfortably furnished but be aware it is up two flights of stairs. It did have a sightly overwhelming cupboard full of cleaning materials, and the instructions and various booklets and brochures were a little over the top and could do with editing. Overall a positive experience because of the location.

We were extremely disappointed to discover that the apartment which was, and continues to be, advertised as non-smoking reeked of tobacco. This was exacerbated by the inability of the windows to open more than a few inches. It took six days to air the apartment with both windows open almost all the time. Immediately upon arrival we emailed cottages.com on the emergency email address provided in the apartment’s instructions. We have never received a reply.

We had a wonderful stay in Oban at this property. Beautifully furnished and absolutely amazing views. It could be a little noisy outside of an evening but it always settled down. We were in walking distance of everything. And the restaurant downstairs was fabulous.

Well situated in the middle of Oban. We hit a bit of a heat wave in the area and it was difficult to get the apartment to cool at night but it sounds like this was an atypical weather aberration. Two notes for others - this unit is on the 2nd floor and we did not see a lift so you’ll want to pack accordingly or plan to get a good workout bringing your luggage up. And the king bed noted is likely a UK king, not a US king, if that matters to you. We enjoyed our time and would gladly stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay in Oban. The apartment is located right in the center of town. Very close to the train, bus, and ferry stations. The apt was spacious, the bed comfortable, and overlooks the harbor. Minor street noise. The host provided lots of information about Oban and activities. The apartment and bathroom was clean. The shower water controls are touchy. But, there is hot water.

Ideal location on the harbour by the shops and restaurants. Close to the railway station and the ferries. 30 steps up to the apartment in a well lit and well kept stairway. Once inside the view's are amazing, mixture of old with the stone wall and modern and warm. Very clean and bright.

A most welcome surprise after a disastrous hire of cottage in Tenby earlier in the year. Imperial Apartment is very spacious, clean, very well appointed with a lovely view over the bay. Most convenient for the excellent restaurants ie Coast (five stars!) EE-Usk and Waterfront Fishouse with Cuan Mor just downstairs. Excellent for breakfast.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Oban, it more than met our expectations! The apartment was in a first class location with spectacular views…we enjoyed sitting watching the ferries and all the other activities in the harbour. Plenty places to eat out especially the Piazza and the seafood restaurant. We would definitely recommend the Imperial Apartment, we would stay there again.

The apartment is in a wonderful location. Walking distance from train station and close to everything. It’s a large place, very well stocked, and overall fairly comfortable. The shower has an on demand water heater which if you’re not careful with the setting can get extremely hot. The pressure is also not the best. The living room furniture is not super comfortable but decent. The apartment checkin instructions state there’s a sign on the actual apartment door which is not there. The biggest downsides are the street noise and the fact that there’s not a fan. You can’t sleep with the windows open because it would be way too loud from the street. Being able to walk to the ferries to explore the islands is a very big plus. Overall a wonderful stay in a great city!

This is an outstanding apartment in a first class location. The Imperial Apartment is everything as advertised in the VRBO summary. It is extremely convenient to downtown shopping and dining and the harbor views from the suite, both sitting room and bedroom are extraordinary. Communications with the ownership team (Gemma and Sandie) were flawless. They were both very responsive, and considerate in ensuring it was a great experience (it was). I sincerely hope to be back to Oban with a return visit to the Imperial Apartment.

The apartment is located in the heart of Oban and has a wonderful view of the harbor. It is well laid out with all of the amenities of a few days’ stay. While we were there we had great weather and went on one of the local boat excursions. The tour of the distillery, which is only a block away, was wonderful as were the local restaurants we ate at. Thank you for the wonderful memories of Oban!

An enjoyable break in Oban staying in a lovely apartment. Ideally situated on the harbour front close to restaurants and bars. We were advised there were steps to the flat but did not expect such a narrow staircase which made carrying luggage awkward. Also one or two items missing on the kitchen front eg corkscrew (very important) and a bit of a mishmash of glasses. However, overall we would thoroughly recommend Imperial Apartment.

This property is perfectly situated to explore Oban and surrounds. Located on the second floor, there is easy stair access and it is quiet. The views of Oban harbour from both the lounge and bedroom are fantastic. Parking in the Tweedale car park is close by (in May we had no problem with getting a spot but suspect parking will be at a premium in summer months-also recommend getting the weekly parking permit). The welcome tea/coffee/biscuits was appreciated. The property is well equipped. Only disappointing aspect is the type of hot water system for the shower - water pressure. We enjoyed our stay in the unit and recommend it as a place for the Oban area. Tips: if you want to take your car on any ferry, book well in advance; explore Easdale and Seil islands if want to avoid crowds; the Coast restaurant is fantastic but will need to book.
