The Ranald Apartments

The location was great. Generally speaking the apartment was clean and comfortable. Decent for a short stay. The cost was reasonable in comparison to others in the area. The lady at check-in was helpful and friendly.

The back windows and french doors were bogging.

Central location, clean and well equipped.

It would benefit from a fan. The weather was warm and the apartment was stuffy.

The apartment is central to all amenities and ferries. It was quiet and very clean & tidy! Highly recommend!

The bed was incredibly comfortable, probably the best night's sleep I've had in a while. The location is perfect.

I have visited Ranald Apartments every year for the last 5 years and I'd say this was the most disappointing stay. Initially walking into the room, there was an overwhelmingly stale, musty smell. It didn't smell clean. We had to go out and buy products to get rid of this smell and open the balcony door for a while. -The apartment looked really tired, definitely needing a refurb. -Our fridge was broken inside, only one tray and no door trays, not ideal for milk or fruit juice standing up, disappointing when you're paying for the facilities. -The lamp in the living room was leaning against the couch as it was loose and obviously broken somewhere. -There were 2 long dark hairs in my bath towel, I have red hair so it wasn't mine. -There was a lingering smell in the bathroom, again it didn't smell clean. -The floor was incredibly creaky, this maybe can't be helped but it added to the tired feeling of the flat. - There were burn marks on the carpet. Marks on the wall. -When pouring the kettle, it leaked out the side so was obviously needing replaced. -The couch in the living area was so uncomfortable, it was solid. -The decor is really dark which made the apartment very dark. The whole flat felt like it needed a complete makeover and when you're paying good money to stay somewhere, you'd hope it would be looked after and maintained. Not sure if I'll be returning which is a shame as this was where we'd stay every time we'd come to Oban.
