Ledaig Apartment No 11

A really nice apartment in a great location in centre of town, with some lovely partial water views of the harbour and town views from multiple rooms. There were toiletries, welcome biscuits, good quality bedlinen. The apartment was very clean and well set up that you could easily stay for a longer period. A few people mentioned the four flights of stairs - we had very heavy, large bags due length/type of our travels so were a bit concerned but found the stairs to be okay actually. As it's a newer block, the stair well has plenty of space and no carpet or tight turns so we found it easier to carry the bags up these stairs than others in older buildings we stayed in. We appreciated that there were two lounges as we are a 3 adult group and many apartments have multiple bedrooms but inadequate seating and dining space/furniture for when you want to relax at home. We really enjoyed our stay here and would book again. We managed to easily find street parking outside or in next door car park throughout our stay.

There were a few maintenance/management issues. The heat sensor alarm in the kitchen went off multiple times when we tried to cook, it was incredibly loud and unpleasant. The team was responsive to communications (and the maintenance guy who attended was great), the alarm was replaced the next day. But safety/emergency equipment should be functioning properly to start with. The apartment was incorrectly advertised with a dishwasher which it didn't actually have and they didn't seem to realise until I asked about it. There was a diabolically bad ammonia or urine smell in the entrance area on the ground floor that persisted for days and others have noted.

The location was fantastic, close to ferry/train and town. The apartment was spacious and clean.

Strong odor in the lobby of the building, 4-5 flight walk up apartment, construction first thing in the morning.

I loved the apartment, very smart and modern. I could live there full time! Tea, coffee etc provided and nice Arran toiletries. Crisp fresh bedding, so comfy!

Five flights of stairs, but nothing can be done to improve that! The view from the lounge made it worthwhile!

Location and two bedrooms

Broken fridge, poor location directions (incl. wrong floor of apartment building), dirty and unusable oven that set off smoke detectors, no soap in shower for arrival after long night flight, and dragging suitcases up 5 floors.
