The rooms were lovely and the pool had a stunning view and was the perfect temperature. The staff were really friendly and helpful and even offered us umbrellas
There was no mirror in the room only the bathroom. There were dressing gowns which was a lovely touch but were very very small. The fruit and tea for breakfast was fine but the pancakes and croissants were not very nice at all.

The property was nestled into the hill and was not visible from the street. The units were nice and private. They had someone on staff all night. I was there solo and found it to be safe and quiet. The breakfast was good with no complaints. The pre bottled water I wasn’t too sure about so I bought my own from the store a bit away. The view from the pool is awesome. The staff is very welcoming and nice. The walk to the center of town isn’t too far but far enough away to remember you’re walking back from the bars and clubs. Unless you catch a bike which is very cheap and quick from the center. I would stay here again but there are plenty of options in this area.
The entry was a bit sketch, there were no guard rails and was a bit tricky to get up. There are two entrances both from the Main Street one is more direct with uneven stairs and the other is a bit harder to find but once you find it. It’s hard to forget but a longer walk. I was over packed as this was the tail end of my trip so hauling my luggage in was a bit of a pain.

Property is nice and clean. They only have 4 rooms so it is nice and quiet. The view from the top floor room is very good. The balcony is great. The bathrooms are clean.
The pool is a bit cold. It would be nice to have a heated pool. The entry to the hotel itself is a bit precarious. I think most of Ubud hotels are this way - adds to the charm I guess.

The property is closed to busy Ubud and yet feels very peaceful … room is beautiful, the garden is very well tended and the small infinity pool offers beautiful views . There are two entrances to the property : the back entrance is great . The front entrance from the main road is via steep steps a bit slippery during the rainy season …
I like the property very much .

- It's well located, walking distance to the center and good restaurants,
- beautiful comfortable room and very comfortable bed and bedsheets,
- the place is elevated, so you have the swimming pool with nice views for the sunset and surrounding hills,
- generally quite private and secluded, you don't hear the traffic, or not much.
- well responsive and helpful staff.
-> To enter the place you need to hike up tall Indonesian-made uneven stairs. In the heat it's already tiring by itself. And If you travel with a suitcase, it will be very difficult for you to climb it - wouldn't recommend with heavy luggage.
-> The wifi was not strong enough for video calls and sometimes was breaking fully - it caused me issues during work.
-> My room was above a Koi pond with a waterfall engine that was very loud - I needed to use earplugs to sleep.
-> There was no hangers in the bathroom - no way how to hang your towels. Also no shower hose, only a ceiling waterfall shower that is 3m above - makes it tricky if you want to wash only your hair, or vice versa - only body.

It was a perfect location between rice fields and main road, quiet yet connected. Staff was so sweet. Room was beautiful and clean. The bed heavenly.
We had one day cold water - for me fine but for my partner a problem.

The pool view bedroom was just amazing, spacious room with a comfortable bed and lovely view, bathroom was really nice. It was clean and the pool was great, stairs fairly steep but the staff were so lovely and helped with my luggage I even extended my stay.
Everything was great!

The place is awesome, so as the room and the view.. My family really had an excellent stay and experience in their villa and really met our expectation. The place is very quiet too whoch is really a good place for relaxing.
I woul also like to thanks all the staffs as they were very helpful during our stay, especially in catering our short notice request for breakfast. The preparation of food is really classy and exceptional!
Will surely gonna come back in this villa and stay for more days.

Good location to ricefields and town centre
False advertising. We booked a Superior Room with Balcony and were given a ground floor room with a mini terrace. Balcony implies it is on the first or higher floors.
Had we booked a cheaper room or as they wanted, requested the first floor then we would have had a balcony. This was not clear on booking.com
This property also only takes payment on site and not through Booking.com.
There was lots of construction working going on less than 5m from the pool. We did not fly halfway around the world to be in a construction zone on both days we were there. I strongly suggest avoiding this property until they fix all the issues.
The tap in the bedroom leaked all over the floor.
The shower nozzle was so high and at a bad angle that the bathroom floor would get wet and as its tiled was very slippery, no mats provided.
The stairs leading to the property are all different hights and its easy to misstep. There is no slip proof measures taken either so in the massive downpour we had to be extremely cautious not to fall.
The biggest issue was that even though all these problems were there, had we cancelled and rebooked a few days before we would have the property for over $60 cheaper. Zero communication about there being ongoing construction work. Imagine trying to relax by the pool and all you hear is drilling...

Location was great. Lovely looking small boutique hotel. Received a very nice welcome and room was decorated beautifully. Room was spacious and had everything you needed.
The bedsheets were stained. When i complained about this, the man at reception said they would be changed but it wasn’t until I got into bed that i realised the sheets hadn’t been changed but just turned inside out. The stains were now on the opposing side. The safe didn’t work. The netting around the bed had holes, and there bugs in the room. The steps to get to hotel are very steep, many would struggle especially with luggage and no help was offered to help with bags.

Good location as off the main road, and quiet, although not far from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. Room nice.
The steps leading up to Mahadana, are very deep and dangerous .. no railing or wall to hold onto on first 10 steps, which is difficult when carrying suitcases. No signage on the many steps up to accommodation. If breakfast is required, you have to order the day before. (Nusa Two Face up the road has great breakfast). They don't have any food or drinks on the premises. There was building going on from very early until late each day which was 2 metres from the pool. The cleanliness of the bedroom was nice, but the shower in Room 9 was filthy ... slime and mould on the walls... shower curtains looked like they hadn't been washed ever. I did ask for the shower to be cleaned, but it was still dirty, just less dirty. We had to ask for new towels into the 3rd day as they had not been changed and as only one is issued, it was used in the pool and shower and constantly wet.

Hotel 100/100. Perfect location (5 minutes to the center), super clean, comfortable, kind staff, everywhere flowers, nice pool, delicious breakfast!!! Thank you for your hospitality.

It was quiet
Only 4x rooms so you received personal service and individual cooked breakfast served in your room or the reception area or by the pool.
Not much.
Accessability might be difficult for some people as quite a lot of steps to the accommodation.

Brilliant place- from the location (hidden away), lovely team, clean and beautiful, the warmest welcome I received out of all places I’ve stayed at in Ubud.
Only warning- be careful with the stairs leading to the property on a rainy day.

10/10 stay in a peaceful little corner of Ubud - close enough to walk to the busy main road but just far enough removed to not hear anything except the crowing of chickens and the sounds of frogs on the walk home . The bedrooms are spotless and extremely comfortable and well appointed. The staff friendly and very accommodating. A few minutes walk to the nearby Campuhan ridge walk . I was woken by the sound of chanting from the nearby temple . It was a blissful stay. Thankyou Mahadana !
Nothing at all.

The rooms were clean and spacious. The property is beautiful. It is hidden away but there are to ways to access it from the main road and easy once you know. A hidden gem definitely. There is not car access directly outside the hotel so there is a little walk to it but we managed it fine. The pool area is beautiful and the staff were so friendly and exceptionally helpful.
Traffic can be loud at night and the pillows could be softer but that really did not ruin our stay at all.

The location is perfect. close to shops, restos,
main road,
convenience stores, Ubud Palace and
market. the area is uphill so its very quiet despite being central.
The staff are warm, polite and very helpful. Helped me carry my luggages upstairs in and out of the hotel.
Their Indonesian breakfast is lit and the Indonesian cake is yummy!
My room is so pleasant, spacious, with own balcony with pool and garden view.
During a 45minute power outage, both electricity and water was out.

No access by car, we had to walk in the rain and at night was very dark

The location was great. It was very close to everything in Ubud. It has a nice pool and the bed was comfortable.
The distance to the actual hotel is a bit of a distance from the main street. I would say roughly around 400m - 500m walk if you do not have a scooter.

Breakfast was superb, staff was super friendly and helpful, and room was clean and comfortable. The jungle views from the room was also amazing.
The location of the hotel was not ideal given the long dark alleyway that is shared with motorbikes to access the property.

It was very nice to stay at Mahadana the view from the pool was amazing and the room was comfortable. Also the location was perfect it was on the side of the nature and jungle but also 5 min from the big road where the restaurants and shops where! The staff was always there when you needed them and helpful! So I really recommend it :)
The only thing that could be better is the hygiene in the room but the rest was good!

very close to city centre, but still quiet area. it felt like our own oasis but we were walking distance from amazing temples, cafes and monkey sanctuary. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. They helped us collect bags, the pool and toilet facilities were clean, and they made sure to fulfil small demands like towels , soap, floating breakfast etc can’t wait to stay here again!

the location was peaceful yet close to Ubud central. rooms were cleaned daily with new towels each day!
amazingly helpful staff who are on hand 6 days a week and available on WhatsApp 24/7
the “4 bedroom villa” is actually 4x 1 bedroom villas - which worked great for our group!
the only thing we found difficult about the villa (certainly not a big problem) was the walk to the villa with suitcases for check in and check out as it is not car accessible and alot of scooters use the narrow alleyway.
the only other issue was the hot water cutting in and out but we were advised by staff before checking in that they had been having issues

proximity to centre
- run down..needs major renovations!
- terrible plumbing causing shower flooding in the whole bathroom
- bathroom sink plumbing leaked through the cabinet which also caused flooding on slippery tiles
- we didn’t have hot water for the first 2 days (although we asked the staff multiple times to come fix it).
- toilet had mould all over it, as did all the bathroom walls.
- dirty and stained bedding
- pillow and towels were not cleaned (smelt and were damp with sweat!!)
- poor appliances. our hairdryer was rattling and the cord overheated to burning point during use.
- although close to city centre, not easily accessible from the main road. It literally required a hike to get to and from, especially at night due to poor to no lighting.
- staff were friendly but didn’t know English which made it hard to communicate.
We were very disappointed that no staff were present for checkout at 3am (we had previously discussed checkout time on 4 different occasions and it was confirmed). We were left alone at 3am, carrying all our luggage on the hike back to the main road- which was especially hard especially as we were travelling with young children.

The hotel was excellent. Cleaned everyday. The staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us to make the stay perfect. We had a lovely breakfast each morning and they even made a floating breakfast in the infinity pool. We couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. It exceeded our expectations. Amazing value!! Thank you for a lovely stay!!

Cozy place with a beautiful pool near Ubud Palace. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. 2 of the rooms come with bathtubs. The staff is always ready to assist.
Not the most accessible place. Not accessible by car, there are also about 70m of uneven terrain/slope even by motorcycle. Despite the well furnished rooms, the breakfast offered was as good as a budget homestay, could be better if they upgrade the breakfast.

It was raining when I got there, I was stuck in the traffic then I called the staff/owner of Mahadana. He’s super friendly, he came to pick me up in the middle of the rain, very sweet hospitality :)
The room is very clean also, the bed’s super comfy, it’s quiet, and very homie.
It’s not what I don’t like, yet the way to go to the property was very small and quite scary for me to go outside walking at night cause the property was located at the very end of the small path.
4.0 / 10.0
The staff were very helpful
It wasn't their fault that the property had been very falsely advertised but they tried their best to help us with our luggage, helping delivery drivers to find the place and accommodating our breakfast times etc
The pool was nice
We booked the place because it was advertised as a 4 bedroom villa. We needed this because we had 4 children in our party. It isn't a villa at all, it is a 4 bedroom hotel. All rooms are separate. I specifically asked this before coming as well and was told the rooms connect. They don't. Some balcony windows didn't lock. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my kids in one room so all adults had to split up and share rooms with the kids so we felt safer.
The property is at the end of a very long and steep path that is only allowed for pedestrians and scooters it also doesn't have streetlights. Not accessible and quite scary.
The rooms were all really dirty, mouldy and smelly. Our towels smelt like urine and the whole room smelt so bad. We were given a child's cot which was so filthy it was discoloured. Luckily I brought my own. Half the plugs didn't work, the kettles were broken and one room had smashed glass in it upon arrival. Huge gaps in the windows meant bugs bugs and more bugs. Sheets were stained.
There was an outdoor kitchen there with basic amenities but you wondered how clean everything was. This property
is more residential school trip vibes than luxury getaway. Definitely completely inappropriate for small children.
