Desaster

We could not enter inside, because somebody from ukraine WhatsApp us an asked an extra 200 euro to their personal account and we refused. Than they left us on street! We had to brake our Shabat, and had to find hotel, paid 400 for 2 rooms

The stay has had a very adverse effect on my children and will not get into a lift.

Was clean and spacious

Parking was far away and extremely expensive, the host didn’t answer her phone despite my children being stuck in the lift, the host was rung so many times as my children were having panic attacks in the lift, the emergency bell was not being answered, so my daughter rang the fire brigade and they came and got them out. At that point the host rang us and got very rude as to why we called the fire brigade, I explained to her that we rang you and you didn’t reply so we had no choice. We had accidentally paid the city tax twice, despite asking for them to refund us on numerous occasions. As the fire brigade got my children out the host refused to pay the 200 euro deposit back. After many messages to the host and contact with Booking.com regarding the non payment of deposit and not refunding the overpayment , the host refunded £201.62 on the 10th December, nearly 2 months after our stay and numerous messages. Just to put figures into context, we paid £180.29 for the deposit and £80.50 extra for the city tax. Which is a total of £260.79 which is a reduction of £59.17. The whole experience has been quite traumatic and we haven’t been given the full amount back.

SCAM ALERT: Host Demands Unsafe Off-Platform Payment. AVOID!

The worst aspect was the demand for mandatory additional payments outside the secure platform, which prevented me from completing the reservation and safely accessing the accommodation. A week after confirming and paying for the booking, the host contacted me via the Booking chat to request payment for a damage deposit (€200) and city tax using a private bank transfer or PayPal's 'Friends and Family' option (methods that offer no buyer protection). This practice is a clear violation of Booking.com’s security policies and an explicit fraud/phishing risk that the platform itself warns against.

Spacious apartment, everything one needs for a short stay. Close to park and walking distance to the city centre.

Neighbourhood felt a little unsafe late in the evening but still walking my dog close to midnight was finally ok. Parking could be hard to find, even though we were lucky to have a spot just next to the apartment. The apartment was a little moist, perhaps some mold. No problem though for a short stay. Overall, we were very happy with the apartment.

Terrible

Do not go there! The owner asked extra £200 to get the keys and didn’t even gave us the money back. No oven, no air conditioning and extra money for everything you use in the house. Owner of the property said she will give me the money back and after that no reply!!!

Wouldn't book again because of the weird deposit system

The location is quiet, but the surrounding area isn’t particularly appealing.

The €200 deposit came as an unpleasant surprise. We booked just one day in advance and only realized on the day of arrival that a bank transfer was required. Since it was late in the afternoon and the host didn’t respond quickly, it caused quite a bit of stress – not an ideal start to our stay.

perfect place for a family or friends

Large clean apartment with all the facilities you need and real close to the heart of the city. There is cheap parking nearby.

The lift is small but is working properly. We wished to check out would be around noon so we asked and were granted late check out for 15€ which is not so expensive.

Excellent accommodation for a family with children, or a group of teenagers. The kitchen was well equipped. Good location close to the main railway station and a beautiful park.

We had two children with two trolleys. The elevator was a bit too small for them, but suitable. It was not obvious what to do with household waste, more precise instructions would be helpful.

Pleasant

Apartment had nice sleeping accommodation and enough room for all. Instructions for checkin were very clear. Enough street parking, but only valid for 3 hours. Thereafter you must wait 30min before being able to check in your car again.

We had some additional questions after checking in, but no response from host after receiving instructions for check in. Also there was no oven and weird smell in the stair/hall way.

Very basic, no oven. The lift was interesting and stopped working when we were trying to leave. Not very helpful when you have food & bags for 7 people. 1 of which is mobility impaired which was a nightmare going down 3 levels on a spiral staircase with poor lighting. 1st night one of the downstairs apartments we’re having a great night (around midnight) shame we could hear them. Bedroom 2 is very small. The shower head was broken so you had to hold it up to shower.

Spacious apartment close to the train station

The property was within a few mins walk of the train station. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. It had a bathroom and a separate toilet which was handy when travelling as a family. Walking to the old town was only a couple of kms.

There is a small spiral staircase which is tricky with luggage and a broken lift. We were surprised with a request for 200Euro deposit a week before our stay. I chose to use paypal as I thought it would give me more peace of mind that the deposit would be returned. Unfortunately that also meant I was hit with hefty fees and with currency conversion rates I was out of pocket another 20 euros. I contacted booking.com to ensure it was a legitimate request. An added unnecessary stress. Wifi details that were provided did not work, and I could not get a response from the host.

Family visit to Antwerp

Very good location. It was also not too difficult to find a parking spot. The rooms are large and conveneient for staying with family.

Very few utensils - at least frying pans or toaster would be helpful. As there is no AC, need to keep the windows open allowing mosquitoes in.

Very good

It's a very nice apartment in walking distance from the station and maybe 2km from the old town. It's a spacious flat in a very quiet neighbourhood. It even had live BBC – a rare treat in mainland Europe.

The only odd thing is the €200 deposit that is required about a week before the date. It has to be done by bank transfer and that can be very awkward with overseas payments. Other people have mentioned it in their reviews. We were already travelling and it was a stress I didn't need on my holiday. It's very, very strange thing to ask for in 2023. But it was repaid promptly.

It is an apartment can stay max for 12 people. Although it is next to the train station, it is not noisy.

The apartment has a strong bleach smell and the bedroom curtains can not cover the full window; 200Euro deposit is required.

The apartment is very spacious, clean, well equipped, in good localization. Parking places nearby - free on weekends (but notice that it is in the red zone during working days). I recommend that place.

The deposit 200 Euro per night very high and not mentioned in general costs of booking. But is has been returned what is ok.

The apartment was overall good, clean except for the beddings. Located within a walking distance from the Central Station in a quite area. The host was responsive.

The sleeping arrangements not as expected. There was only one double bed and 3! bunk beds instead of 2 double beds and 2 bunk beds that we expected. The beddings had a bad smell. The pillows and the blankets need to be washed, or better changed. It was quite unpleasant.

story time horror experience trapped in an apartment

it was very close to the main train station and to the city center

there were a ton of rules written up, on the elevator and in the living room, and a lot of limitations for what seemed to be one of my worst nights ever. the key broke and my friend and I were locked in the apartment until someone came in the morning. I had a panic attack and was so close to calling the police, the key was really cheap and so were the locks. for all the high expectations that one would assume would come from a place writing rules on every wall you’d think the shower head would be hung, not broken, and the toilet would work. If you want to have a restless night's sleep book this place, the moment you walk in you feel displaced and super uncomfortable 😣

Very spacious and clean apartment

The apartment is spacious, perfectly clean and easy to get to by car. We only stayed for one night but we've would have liked to stay longer. It looks like there is a metro or train at walking distance.

It was pretty cold inside the apartment even though we increased the temperature in the thermostat and didn't really feel any difference, but not a deal breaker, just FYI. Careful with the elevator, we were 3 ans got stuck between floor 1 and 2, luckily my husband opened the door, (it's an old elevator with just 1 door) and that brought it up to the 2nd floor 😅

The host is asking for 200€ as a deposit for a night! This is unbeliveble, is not normal to ask for such a deposit. I got in touch with customer service and they got an exception for 50€ as a deposit, anyway, the host was keep asking for 200€. In the end I paid 50€ as a deposit which was refunded.

Nice looking apartment. About a 20 min walk into town. Good shower.

Hard beds. I had to pay a €200 deposit via PayPal which I was unaware of. Also seemed to lose about £10 when the deposit was eventually paid back, not sure if it was fees? Already paid city tax ontop of that.

We enjoyed the location and the fact parking could be provided at an extra cost. Our stay was reasonably comfortable.

The shower needed to be held to use and even then flooded the bathroom. The central heating was not consistent throughout. The master bedroom was cool, while the kid’s bedroom was like a sauna.

Exceptional

Appartment is very nice, surely for the price, it's large one (two bedrooms, living room with equipped kitchen including cooktop and fridge, two toilets). It's very quite despite you can see trains passing by from the window of the living room. Position is also excellent: few minutes walking from the central station and so the city centre. We didn't have need to contact the owner exceptionality, we received all information on time and clearly explained.
