Cozy vibes and amazing staff

This was the best stay I had in Indonesia so far! First of all the staff was amazing. The owners are so nice while I gave them a hard time by losing stuff, needing to wake them up at night and even switching hotel because I wanted to be closer to my friends. Regretted that decision right away and came back after one night. Sintia is such a sweetheart and made nice breakfast for me at every hour I wish and was bringing me places on the scooter. The room is perfectly clean, there is decent airco and fridge and I felt really at home. The view is amazing and my room was right at the beach.

A lovely stay!

I had a lovely stay at Bubu Racok. Only a few metres away from the sea, the room is big with plenty of space to move around. Lovely hosts that made delicious breakfast right on the beach every morning. One of the highlights of this homestay is that we could snorkel right from the beach only metres away from the room. That was absolutely amazing!

Perfect rest

The staff were really friendly and helpful. Every morning a lovely breakfast was served on the beach with the waves gently lapping and in the shade of some beautiful trees. Nothing was too much trouble. When I went in very early morning screens diving I was served a late breakfast on my return. The location is close to great restaurants and bars

Stay here - fantastic value with the best hosts

Fantastic location with a lovely family. Do take the opportunity to go on a sunrise walk with Wayan if you can. The room was spotless. You can snorkel directly in front of accommodation. Lots of restaurants near by. Would not consider staying anywhere else in Amed.

I truly enjoyed my stay. The staff were amazing and made me feel very welcome.

We loved the friendliness and hospitality of the staff—they went out of their way to make us feel like part of the family, and nothing was ever too much to ask. The accommodation was outstanding: clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Our upper room faced the beach, just steps away, and the fantastic breakfast delivered to our room made the stay even more special.

Good Stay in Amed with Amazing Sunsets

Wonderful if you have the Deluxe Double room with the balcony. Seaview from your bed with soothing sound of waves Hearty breakfast of fruit juice, fresh fruits and banana pamcakes or omelette. Great view of the magnificent Mt Agung from the beach.

Older property Have to walk 20 mins to Jemeluk Bay for better snorkelling although Amed Beach is great for watching sunsets Took a fishing and snorkelling trip (2 spots) with Wayan on his jukung for 4 hours. No luck in fish but saw an amazing sunrise, and the snorkelling was at Jemeluk Bay and the Pyramids,(both accessible from the beach).

Amazing Stay at Bubu Racok!

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our stay here! Wayan and his family are so kind, accommodating, and always have big smiles on their faces. Wayan took us out for a lovely sunrise fish and snorkel and always gave us suggesting for the best things to do around town. Our room was large and cleaned extremely well every day. We had a large balcony and hot water and coffee always available to us. Breakfast is amazing - delicious omelettes, pancakes, and fresh fruit! The two girls who run the reception are the sweetest people. Thank you so much to Wayan and his whole family for a wonderful stay in Amed, we are SO happy we chose Bubu Racok.

Amazing low-key location right on the beach in Amed. Rooms facing the beach are very quiet, away from street noise. Very clean and professionally run, great bathroom, fantastic value. Wayan (innkeeper) took me out on his boat for a very special snorkeling and fishing adventure that included a giant sea turtle. Super value, reasonably priced. Great breakfast included at beach-front picnic table. Overall 10 stars.

Great hosts and location in Amed

Central location in Amed, hosts are wonderful and helpful, loved eating breakfast on the beach looking at the sunrise.

Bathroom facilities are subpar - no shower heads or faucets, just spouts from the wall, hot water lasts for 3-5 minutes, just a bar of soap provided, door doesn't close fully. Cash only payment.

I had never stayed at a homestay before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect - but Bubu Racok Homestay completely set the bar. Wayan was an incredible host, as were his family and the friends who help out around the property. The room was spacious, clean, and cozy, with tea and coffee available just outside in a thermal pot so I could make drinks whenever I liked. Breakfast was always delicious - my favorite was the pancake served with a plate of fresh fruit and daily juice. I also had dinner there on a few evenings, which was just as tasty and made with care. One of the highlights was the beautiful view of the beach in the “backyard,” perfect for both sunrise and sunset, with Mount Agung in the distance. The location was great too, with several warungs nearby and a market just down the street for anything I needed. Wayan also offers a variety of activities like snorkeling and fishing trips. I joined a peaceful early morning fishing trip—it was such a memorable experience. We caught fish and even had a dolphin swimming nearby, adding a little magic to the day. I ended up extending my stay by a night and would’ve happily stayed longer if I didn’t already have other non-negotiable plans. This homestay truly felt like a little home away from home and I'm looking forward to returning next year!

Wonderful stay - highly recommended

We loved our stay at this lovely homestay on the beach in Amed with the friendly Bubu Racok family. Highlights: 1.) The delicious freshly prepared banana pancakes and fresh fruit for breakfast, which we enjoyed overlooking the calm waters of the Bali Sea. 2.) Watching Wayan return from his fishing trip with the catch of the day, which you can enjoy BBQ'd at the end of the day if you would like - highly recommended - the Giant Trevally was very tasty! 3.) Snorkelling boat trip with Wayan's son - lots of colourful fish and turtles. 4.) Chatting with the family about life in Amed. Location is great - right on the beach with great snorkelling right in front of the property and close by to plenty of restaurants and shops too. Highly recommend a stay here - the family are lovely and friendly. Thank you :)

My best homestay in Bali😍-if in doubt, just do it!!

Bubu Racok was the best homestay I had in Bali (and been travelling over a month!), and such good value for money too! And Amed exceeded my expectations- if you’re still having doubts just do it! I had the room overlooking the mountain, which was huuge and had a super nice comfy bed in the balcony 😍 The location is great!! You can snorkel just in front of the house!! The family was super attentive, you get breakfast at anytime of the day 😍, and they help you with snorkelling tours, or car/motorbike service etc. My favourite was one of the daughters in law who drove me to Lahangan Sweet, came with me, and took pics of me, all for a super reasonable price! When I left they all came to say goodbye 🥹 Highly recommend!

Beautiful Amed, beach, room with a terrace, friendly owners!

The homestay provided transportation from Denpasar and then to Ubud. The room was spacious and was cleaned daily. I loved the quiet bathroom, air conditioner, the beautiful terrace with a day bed to watch the sunset. The building is directly on the beach, and I was able to snorkel and see corals and turtles every day! When I wanted to see temples, the same driver spent a day with me, taking me to various places and waiting for me to explore sights. I enjoyed daily breakfast with lots of fruits. There was a large thermos with hot water provided daily. Overall, the location, friendliness of the staff, advice I received, made my stay wonderful. Oh, and I received massage in my room daily, after I asked for a recommendation of a massage place.

Very clean homestay directly at the beach

Had to very lovely nights here! The room was extremely clean, big and lots of light coming in. The bed was huge, a bit loud but still very comfortable. The family that owns the homestay is super friendly and help with everything. The location couldn’t have been better: directly at the beach so you could enjoy your (very delicious!!) breakfast with seaside and watch the fisherman in the morning. The room even had a fridge and there was hot water in the shower!

I hadn't started in a Homestay before so was uncertain what to expect. Wayan's family did everything they could to make the stay special. Nothing was too much trouble. Also the location right on the beach was superb

The kindest people and the best location

The family who runs the Homestay is the warmest and kindest people you will find in Bali. The rooms are spacious and nice and the balconies where you are served hot water for tea or coffee in the afternoon are the perfect spot to relax in the shade. The location right on the beach is perfect and if you are lucky they will serve freshly caught and grilled fish for you in the evening. Good breakfast as well. I am thankful for my three nights I had there.

Bliss!

The room was on the beach, big with aircon and comfortable bed. The sunset and sunrise views were awesome and being able to snorkel directly in front of the room was such a bonus! We enjoyed the breakfast, lunch and dinner we had there. The snorkel trip they organized was great fun and we enjoyed feeding the colourful fishes, swimming with turtles and being pulled behind the boat. The trip to Padangbai was also interesting. Thank you for answering my million questions about the culture and country. Living in Amed means to still experience authentic Bali and the lovely village life. Thank you for the kind hospitality, it felt as if we were part of your happy family for a short while.

Very nice homestay with kind owners who were always very responsive. They gave us good tips for activities and also organised a nice snorkeltrip for us! Breakfast was tasty and you‘ve always hot water to make tea or coffee. Room is big and clean and the view with the sea right in front of the homestay was amazing. Highly recommend!

A little guesthouse right in front of the beach. Lovely views from the balcony and just an amazing staff!

The place is a little bit outdated and requires some restoration. Especially a bathroom in our case (balcony seaview room) and a very noisy sliding front door! Would be nice to have a little bedside lamp next time. We also had to unplug a little fridge next to the bed at night, as it makes a lot of noise :D

Only positive things to say

Awesome homestay where the family welcomes you like family. While driving here from Ubud I crashed my scooter at the foot of Mt Agung, and the people at this property did everything to help me, from bringing food upstairs to prepare my scooter for me to carrying my bag. Thank you for that. Really nice breakfast also. I couldn't enjoy snorkeling at the beach, which is only 15 meters away from the property. It's such a great location!

Wayan, his family and his place are just awesome! The ambiente felt like home just with an amazing beach just in front of the terrace. The Bedroom and the bath were very clean. Wayan also arranged a trip to the temple near by and our fast boat trip to the gilis. Most friendliest host ever!

We were in there only one night so it was ok

The staff were amazing and it was right on the beach

We had the sea view room with a balcony. The toilet smelled like rotten eggs. I wondered why the window was left open. I shut it on arrival to stop mosquitoes coming in during the night but soon realised the horrible smell that brewed. There were ants on the walls. Especially in the bathroom there were loads. It wasn't very clean, especially the bathroom. It needs a good clean and a paint job. Just look a bit grubby in there. The window wouldn't shut properly. It looked almost bent out of place. So much so the noises from outside were so loud. The waves were loud but I like the sound of them. You will soon realise in Bali you need sound tight accommodation because there are roosters, birds, dogs and all sorts of noises venturing in your room in the early hours of the morning.

Breakfast was lovely, if you were more hungry there was no problem to ask for more. A home away from home

The homestay exceeded all my expectations. The hospitality offered by wayan and his family went above and beyond, and they really gave me the feeling of being home. The room was beautiful, spacious and clean. Everyday I found some flowers on my bed, which was really cute! Also, the location was perfect, the homestay is right at the beach. Beautiful for sunrise and sunset! The perfect spot if you want to wind down a bit and relax yourself. Even though I traveled alone, I never felt alone in this place. I will definitely come back!

The best stay in Amed, we miss it already!

Breakfast every morning was amazing! Fresh fruit, pancakes, smoothies, the lot :) we were able to rent snorkels and bikes, everything was super easy! Not to mention the homestay is right next to the sea. It's completely beautiful!
