Good but could easily be better

View of the Elbe and the standard of reception area

Simple thing.....why is there no ability to make a coffee in the room....yes, if you ask you can get one at reception, but then have to carry it in the lift to your room, or worse still wait till you head downstairs the next morning. Yes perhaps petty but simple things make you want to return!

Look forward to returning

We loved the location and view from the window, it was really special. We really enjoyed getting the ferry there and there were bikes to hire. Breakfast was really nice with lovely coffee and tea. The hotel tried to find some vegan options so as well as bread and jam, fruit salad, cereals etc there were vegan ham slices. The receptionists and waiters were very nice. There is a nice patio with chairs to relax.We also went to the lido at Finkelwerder which was great.

Only 1 vegan option on the bar menu for the evening although it was good. Some fries or salad or soup might be good.

Elbe riverside location

Loved the location - it is not central city location, but its on the Elbe riverside, if you have a river side view room that enables you to see the giant container ships and cruises passing by towards Hamburg. Connected to the city center in 30 min by a ferry - small terminal right behind the hotel - great for a tourist visit. Also nice cycling base. Cozy bed, spacious suite - has a balcony. The staff enabled us to leave our car parked on the parking lot on the day of our check-out also after our check-out without an extra charge (otherwise parking costs 5 eur/night) - nice gesture, not self-evident.

The carpet is laid accross the entire floor (hallways and room floors) and is not the cleanest (stains visible).

Very large and clean room, great breakfast.

Restaurant closed at 9pm, no room service possible as they were too busy. Also the balcony door in the family room had no lock and chairs on the balcony which gave my toddler ideas. Of course his behaviour is my responsibility but it would have been nice to have been able to lock the balcony door.

River view restaurant is just a bar overflow area with a few table outside. Cannot actually see the river. The two poor waiting staff struggled as very busy but did a great job, helpful and smiled. Room was very hot and the a wasnt actually turned on in the hotel. The maid had to bring a fan up. Made the room uncomfortable temperature wise.

situated in an industry zone in the middle of nowhere, advertised like a spa but ran by tired people

there is nothing made in a way you could particularly like it, all is cheap and just acceptable for the price. And that's the problem. The advertisement is creating expectations that they are not even trying to meet, which is actually the reason why I make an evaluation at all: If you advertise, then try at least !

The cheap beds with the simple foam mattress and the plastic blankets are below standard for any hotel that claims a "category four star". They are common in germany, though. I dont understand why this has to be like that, just buy a proper mattress and blanket, then you can charge for it ! Its a hotel in the middle of an industrial zone, there are only business people who will get the bill paid, you dont have to run the place like a hostel !

Interesting location outside Hamburg, but still near with the ferries. I could not cast from my Android to the television set. About 50 Euros by taxi from Hamburg centre to the hotel.

In room entertainment could be moore modern They could also offer "Quick check out" at the reception, very time consuming to check out. Free coffe and workplace in the Lobby are would be great.

No EV charging or air con

Great view of the river from our room and blankets provided for the dogs.

We chose this hotel for two reasons: EV charging and air con. We arrived to find the air con broken, our room had been double booked so we were downgraded and the EV charging is just an outdoor socket which is a slow, dangerous and useless way to charge an EV. Blatant lie and irresponsible of the hotel to market themselves as providing EV charging. Luckily we had enough battery left to drive 50km to the nearest rapid chargers, but others might not be as fortunate.

very nice view of the river, the terrace outside is a real plus, there is a ferry just in front of the hotel that takes you to Hamburg. I really liked the open nature of the hotel in a very green environment ... and of course the free delicious coffee

It was a waste of money.

Right in front of the lake, I was able to stroll by the lake.

As it is a 4 star hotel, I think it should be prepared more carefully. Even though there are many limitations due to the epidemic, a bottle of water and a bag of coffee are not in the room, and the bathroom radiator doesn't work, so the next morning the towel didn't dry, so I had to use a new towel. It seemed that there weren't many guests, but they said they would prepare breakfast for TO-GO, but I was surprised to prepare a sandwich for sale at the mart. There was only coffee and tea in the lobby, and nothing like juice or milk was prepared. Despite being a 4-star hotel, the TV channels were limited, and WIFI received ID and PW, and only 200M could be used.
