One of the pillows were not really a pillow. It was very thin and uncomfortable to sleep on. The breakfast was basic with not many fresh options.

Just one night spent there...

G&H Rosengarten is a nice Hotel a few steps away from Harburg. The staff at check-in was very kind and ready to give any kind of help. My room was very large and well furnished.

Heaters in my room were not working during my stay and No hot water at all in bathroom. Unfortunately the reception get closed around 9pm, so it was impossible to get any kind of help or assistance. No numbers to call for information or assistance and simply nobody around after 9pm/10pm. At check-out, the answer was that municipality was not sending heat because of new regulations to save energy... Fortunately, I've spent there just one night...

G&H hotel, booking.com review

Nice rooms, good size.

I have stayed at this hotel before. I think it has been taken over?. The last time I was there the owner/ receptionist was very friendly, this time I was not impressed by the service. There was loud yelling in the hallway a few times. I use booking.com quite often. I this time tried paying with debit card instead of by credit card but something went wrong during the booking proces. Booking.com sent me a link by email that I could click on if I still wanted the room that would expire after 30 minutes. Unfortunately I only saw this the next day and tried to call booking.com. When I called booking.com I heard a recorded message that said that before I could be connected to someone I first needed to give my booking number, which I had never received. Although until now my experience with booking.com has been very good I was very dissapointed at their service when things don't go as they are supposed to go. Also for email contact with the helpdesk you need a booking number! Without a booking number it is almost impossible to reach the helpdesk of booking.com. I filled in a chat form somewhere on the booking.com website and got a friendly reply from someone (no name mentioned, no possibility for direct return email contact, and I have the idea that my chats might be sent to different people/ countries? depending on via which site you send it).

Superb

Breakfast really good, especially the coffee. Room OK, simple but practicle. Silent enough. It was possible to get in after reception desk closure, the facility has small trezors for the keys, which work work with codes.

When I wanted to pay by card, the recepcionist said that they only accept debit card. When I gave him a Visa debit card, he said, no Visa will not work. When I gave him a Masters debit card, it did not work either. I offered bank transfer, which was not accepted either. So it was only cash accepted finally...

Pleasant family hotel, perfect for short stop over.

Good location for an one nights stay with small kids. Would be nice to have a restaurant for evening meals or a coffee machine in the room. We had a good sized, well cleaned family room. The pillows were very thin and non supportive but the mattrass was firm. Breakfast was modest, but good enough to our liking!

Very good during the business trip

Small hotel in the middle of nothing - great localization for the business trip. Only 15 minutes by bus to Harbourg. The room was old, not renovating for a while time, but clean. Very nice and helpful hotel team. Breakfast was absolutely enough to find some good for everyone.

Only two inconveniences. First, that was the lack of an air conditioner, during the summer with 34 degrees, was very hot in the room. Second, a lot of construction crews slept in the hotel. They were too loud and a little bit annoying.

A nice place to stay

The room was spacious and clean, everything as expected.

The walls are not completely soundproof so you can hear people talking in the hallway and coughing in the room next door. Also, we arrived on Friday and there was some disco nearby so we could hear that for a long time even through closed windows. Luckily, after 10 pm, they turned the volume down a notch. But this is not a mistake of the hotel at all.

This hotel was absolutely worth every penny and I had a perfect stay! The bathroom and room was clean, perfect shower, the heaters in room are working, very stable internet. I've enjoyed their breakfast and it was more than suffient. The hotel was located in a quiet area, and no noise in the area. There are enough free parking places, and when you're lucky you can have a spot in front of the hotel. The Staff was excellent and friendly and always eager to help. It's a great base if you want to explore Hamburg (20-25 min. by car)

The only 2 things which I could mention, is the lack of tea/coffee making facilities (like a water cooker) in your room. This should be standard as the restaurant was also not open during the evening. I've mentioned this to the Staff and they said that I was right and they will look into it. The bed was clean and perfect, except the pillow could be thicker, now I had to fold it twice to make it thicker.

Disappointing

Room was ok, not exceptionally clean. Breakfast was good.

We were met with the most unpleasant, uncooperative and accommodating man at reception, immediately regretting our booking. On showing messages from the hotel he said he didn't send them. Unlike indicating a manned reception until 10 pm the day before arrival, there was nobody later in the afternoon. It would have been helpful advising to guests who are cyclists that the restaurant was closed. We had to ride another 6 km.

Zimmer sauber, Ausstattung schlicht aber zweckmäßig, Matratzen fest. Ruhig gelegen, mit dem Auto gute Verbindung zur City Hamburg, mit Öffis schwieriger. Ausreichend Parkplätze vor dem Haus.
