The pool was fantastic, our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The walk out snorkeling was amazing! The staff was top notch, some of the best service we’ve ever had. Food at the restaurant was delicious. We loved our stay and would definitely come back.
Not a thing! Even during rain storms it was a relaxing place to hang out.

This was the most luxurious and relaxing holiday ever but it didn't cost the earth. The staff were very attentive but not overly invasive, they catered to our every need. Breakfasts were delicious, brought to our private dining area daily. Predominantly Asian style but eggs and bacon were available for those who really want that. Everything is immaculately clean and the food at the restaurant delicious. Our coeliac daughter was able to eat off the menu stress free, and the entire resort has its own perfectly drinkable water supply. Showering, brushing your teeth and filling up water bottles just like home. No Bali belly here!! Snorkelling out the front of the resort was the best the island had to offer. Private morning yoga class with Nassa, listening to the waves was delightful. The resort cats, Bruno and Lulu added life and entertainment to the week. We rarely go back places just because there's just so much to see in this world but this place will draw us back.
The mattress was a little firm but we mentioned this on the first morning and they bought in a mattress topper and fixed it. They really look after you. It's not near the hustle and bustle of down town Ahmed but if you really need that, they'll drive you down or you could hire a scooter. There's no sand at this resort but that's what makes the snorkelling so perfect. A short walk to Lipah will get you some sand between your toes.

Everything was perfect.

This property was unique in two specific ways. One..the fresh water swimming pool and water.
Two…the stairs and ramp down to one of the best snorkelling experiences I’ve ever encountered. On top of that, lovely service and people.
We enjoyed the breakfast and the sweet and sour chicken
It’s nothing to do with the property or staff but please note the area would require a bike or transport for exploration. The roads are not so easy to walk from place to place on. Get the Grab app so you can order transport!

Amazing views throughout the whole facility. The whole staff is lovely and willing to help to get the most out of your visit in Amed. Also they were happy to help picking us up from the harbour. Thanks for a great visit!

Really beautiful and exceptional service. It really felt 5 star service for exceptional value
The lighting in the rooms should change to LED rather than hot incandescents. You can really feel the heat radiating from the lights especially in front of the bathroom mirror.

We booked the familyroom, this room has two separate bedrooms which are connected via the bathroom. Super beautiful and the service was outstanding. Food was excellent, and the Villa has it’s own waterwell. So you have clean water from the tab!
The Villa is also focusing on sustainability, minimum plastic is used.
I can highly recommend Villa Bukit Segara!

The staff of Villa Bukit Segara are really what make this property stand out. Yes, the gorgeous views, lovely pools, and outstanding food are all amazing aspects, but the kindness and generosity of Bari, Sery, Jesika, and others were really what made it feel like home. Make sure to have them book you an outrigger for the afternoon to go snorkeling - it was a highlight of our time in Amed!
Also, I didn't see a lot of photos of the "Double Room with Garden View" - the villa comes with a stunning private pool, along with a lovely yard and an elevated front porch that has a semi-ocean view. The photos of the round seats face out to the ocean. I brought a travel hammock with me and set it up on the porch and it was just perfect! The room is situated behind the large room (maybe the 2 bedroom?) that is ocean front, so this room is set back a bit (which allows for a lot of privacy) - just a heads up!
I wish the bathroom was a bit larger, but this is really just nit-picking.

It’s amazing place for a holiday! We enjoyed it so much that we expended our stay here😊✨ The ocean view in front of a room, restaurant and swimming pool is amazing and remarkable! We’ll come back here again and we’ll recommend it for our friends definitely🌟
Stuff is very friendly and helpful, specially Ruby and Sery. There is possibility for snorkeling, massage and early morning yoga with teacher.
We enjoyed our stay here a lot. Highly recommend. Big wishes from 🇱🇹
It’s new design style, we love it.

This villa and its pool have a wonderful view on the ocean in a isolated and very relaxing position.
+ pool with a wonderful view
+ very calm and relaxing place
+ friendly staff
+ very nice places for diving/snorkeling at just few minutes by car
- room not properly maintained (various defects in the bathroom)
- insufficient quality of the breakfast
- there is no beach in front of the hotel (some reviews are misleading). Beaches are reachable by car in a few minutes
- in general, prices are too high (e.g. the cost of a driver to move to another place is much higher than the market prices)
Summarizing, we found the price/quality ratio unsatisfactory.

Such a peaceful location overlooking the sea, wonderful service, food was delicious, a lovely family feel to this hotel. A great place for some r&r. Massages, laundry, drivers - all easily arranged.
We went to Amed to snorkle, sadly the sea conditions were not great when we were there so there was no snorkelling - just worth considering that if that's your reason for coming here.
Property is a bit out of Amed so you will need a driver to get there.

The location was perfect. We were right on the beach and listened to the sounds of the waves every night. The staff were so warm and welcoming. They were kind and able to help us with any question we had. The food was excellent and we really enjoyed being able to swim laps in the pool as well as do a little morning yoga because they had mats available.
The weather wasn't ideal but that wasn't their fault. If the staff could control that, I know they would have changed the weather since they went above and beyond to make the stay special.

Staff was amazing. Snorkelling in front of the hotel was fantastic. The Dutch owners were very friendly and focussed on helping the local community (drilling well and giving away free drinking water) and have written a book on plastic waste and the problems it causes.

Everybody was so kind and friendly!
The infinity pool and view are amazing. You can directly access the sea for snorkling or a walk along the shore to small Bunutan beach (stony).
The restaurant is very good, but there are also Warungs nearby.
Nothing to complain

Like a smaller Amankila , Bukit Segara is truly magnificent. Enjoyed the privacy in the sprawling grounds and closeness to sea shore. Room is very highly maniatained with top cleanliness and attention to details. Lots of natural light in bathroom. I felt like it's my own residence- pool to myself , pop into the kitchen for coffee and fruits. Barefoot the entire 2 days stay. A very high quality resort. Much needed rest for me.

Unbelievably friendly staff and the perfect location directly in front of a beautiful coral reef! the rooms are very spacious and offer everything you need. from our point of view, the best hotel we have been on Bali so far. especially if you consider the value for money aspect!! highly recommended!

Breakfast reasonably.
It would have been so nice if nice good and hot (Bali) coffee would have been available. Cappuccino came from a sachet and staff couldn’t make it with warm foamy milk themselves. Quote: ‘We don’t do that’
It would be great if the terras on the seaside would have nice chairs. And the couch there and in front of the house would have had nice and clean covers.

The location is spectacular, right by the sea. It is a very beautiful and relaxing place, with both beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The staff is lovely and very helpful and the dutch owner is such a pleasant fellow. He showed us around and even gave us a little history education while doing so.

After having stayed at 3 different hotels (in Nusa Dua 5*, Ubud 4* and Lovina 4*) before spending a few nights at Bukit Segara, and having stayed at two more since (3*/5*), I can safely say this is the best accommodation we've had in Bali :
- the staff are simply adorable. Never pressing, always present. Always with a smile, and ready to go the extra mile to make your stay the best it can possibly be (concrete example further below).
- the location is perfect. 10min scooter ride away from Amed/Tulamben (you can rent a scooter for 5eur per day directly from Bukit Segara), you're close to everything, yet away from the noise and effervescence of it all
- the infinity pool and the view from the terrace/dining area are simply breathtaking
- the restaurant is of the highest quality, and the prices are reasonable (but don't hesitate to test some Warungs in the "center" of Amed for a more immersive balinese experience, and cheaper prices ;))
- put on your mask and tuba (also available for rent from Bukit Segara), walk 5 meters, dive, swim for about 15 seconds, and you're in the corral reef.
- the "small" scale of the Villa (6-8 rooms if I'm not mistaken) gives both a sense of exclusiveness to it all, and allows the staff to create a real personal experience. "Good morning mister Ronan" is so much more pleasant than "good morning sir, room number please ?"
- the green/eco-friendly approach (special mention to the Villa's own water-filtering system, allowing you to brush your teeth "from tap" and not from water bottles like in all other hotels we stayed at)
Example of 5* service : my partner is gluten-intolerant. The staff (Seri, the manager, in the front line) went and bought rice flour to be able to make her gluten-free pancakes for breakfast (which were, needless to say, excellent). It might sound like a detail, but it's the difference between good and great. This was great.
- the pictures don't do justice to the "room", which is a real apartment (main bedroom, corridor, big bathroom, huge separate closet). I'm putting it here on the negatives, but really it was more a superb surprise when we arrived than negative per say : it's the pictures that are not perfect, not the room ;)
- due to characters limitations I cannot write down all the positives about Bukit Segara in the positives section, so I'll continue here just with a bullet-point-style list : the romantic corner for unique diner occasions, the cleanliness of the place, the massage area with the sound of waves in your ears, the "no personal tipping policy" = everything is put in a common pot to be shared by all staff members equally...
It's simple, really : I am typing this review from the Hilton Nusa Dua, 5 stars hotel and twice as expensive, on the day before we go back home. I wish I had planned the trip differently, and stayed in Bukit Segara for the remaining of our tour of Bali. Truly a wonderful experience, absolutely nothing negative to say.

The staff were so helpfull and friendly, cooking class was fun, the restaurant uses fresh produce grown on site, amazing food prepared, fantastic location right on the ocean and rooms were excellent.
Relaxing in the infinity pool with cocktails watching the sunset was perfect.
It was sad to leave everyone at Villa Bukit Segara.

Beautiful location on the quiet beach with a fantastic sunrise.
Super welcoming and friendly staff. Clean and air conditioned room.
Nice big swimming pool.
Good breakfast.
Had a very good pizza at the neighborhood restaurant Gusto (200 m down the street).
Lots of colorful small fishing boats in the area. Went down to closest village to see when they arrived back in the morning.
