Great little place

Highlights of our stay: Atmosphere: Perfectly chilled. Grounds & Pool: Beautifully maintained and very clean. Service: Staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Amenities: Enjoyed the lovely breakfast spread and the great on-site shop. Massage top class! Unique Touch: The resident cats at breakfast added a charming, homey feel. Summary: A very nice, small, and intimate resort. Highly recommended for a quiet getaway.

Fisherman returns at 7am is noisy. Then locals noise like music and house renovations. We liked the traditional environment but it comes at a price. Noise.

Didn't have facilities and services stated on booking.com...no wifi, tv, coffee machine...very expensive compared to other places we stayed..left after 1 day to much more luxury accommodation at half the price..disappointing 😐

Relaxing stay

The hotel was small and quiet, with lovely gardens. The staff were very friendly and the food was very good. The snorkeling from the beach was excellent and we saw a lot of beautiful fish and corals. The bungalow was tastefully decorated.

The upstairs room is hot, despite the aircon.

Loved our stay at Life in Amed, people are so friendly, beautiful vibes.

The food at the hotel was amazing! We ate breakfast lunch and dinner there because it was just so good. Probably the best grilled Mahi Mahi I have ever tasted. Also location couldn’t be better, a little out of town which made it quiet, the sandy beach right out front where you could go snorkeling was crystal clear.

We couldn’t fault it.

Little haven in a lovely authentic fishing village. Location on the beach. Beautiful gardens and cottages. Delicious breakfast. Great swimming pool.

The roosters at 4am! But the hotel provides earplugs! A bit expensive for the area.

Lovely stay in Amed

I loved the ocean view cottage and hearing the sounds of the waves in addition to the excellent snorkeling right off the beach. The cottage was comfortable, and the grounds were lovely. Staff were excellent, helpful, and professional. Really a great stay!

Because the hotel is small, and large group occupied the entire pool area. Not the hotel's fault, but something to be aware of.

Very kind staff, homey feels in great location with amazing food!!!!

The bed was super cozy. Access to the beach was really nice. There are fishing boats just outside the door coming back from gathering fish in the mornings. It’s really a beautiful site to see. The food was exceptional and fresh. The entire staff keeps you feeling right at home. Including in room dining if you want. Also close to Japanese ship wreck for snorkeling and diving!!!

I loved the manicured gardens! The pool was kept clean. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. On-site yoga was a plus!! My family loved the two cats.

We were troubled with mosquitos (rainy season) and unfortunately the pots of still water (for floating flowers) were breeding sites for mosquitoes. The roofing materials lent a smell to the upstairs bedroom that my daughters did not like.

If you are looking for a no frills short stay then you'll probably be OK here.

Location was superb especially for those who like to dive/snorkel. Local fishermen land their boats on the beach directly in front of the hotel lodges. Food was excellent, good value for money. Room had water bottle but not chilled. Kettle /tea/coffee were also in the room. Lovely garden/pool area. Room was clean. Staff were lovely. Very chilled vibe if you're looking for this. Good AC in room.

Bed comfort, room layout - no seating area in the room, no view out to beach/sea unless you physically left the room or went upstairs. Bed was super hard, pillows too small and not comfortable, sheets were clean but the bed throw really did not smell good and the bath towels had seen better days. Wifi was hit/miss. We had to cut our stay short by a few days and return back home, but if we had not had to do this then we would have looked for an alternative hotel. No TV which didn't bother us but feet it worth mentioning as some families with kids would probably want this. In general, this hotel did not have the comfort level we were expecting and the price per night was definitely based on the location.

Exceptional

It was in an idyllic setting, well worth travelling so far to get there. The staff went out of their way to make us welcome and were always helpful. The food was excellent and my special dietry needs were able to be catered for.

The only thing I could suggest is adding tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge in the guest accommodation.

Relaxing calm stay

The cabins are beautiful and very clean. The beds are comfortable. The terrace in front of each cabin is a good size for everyone to sit down and even eat. The pool is lovely and clean. Location is front on beach front where you can go swimming and snorkelling and watch the fishing boats come in in the morning. Bathroom is great with an outdoor shower. The breakfast is ample and very tasty. And the menu for food the rest of the day is great!

Amed is very humid and that humidity ends up in the room. But with the AC it dries up fine. Not a problem with the hotel itself, but outside to each side, there are very pushy snorkel and dive rental shops, every time you walk past they try to bug you to rent equipment and get very rude if you rent with someone else. But that is what it is like here. Don't be mistaken, the hotel is located far from the centre of Amed, so it a bit remote, but there is still access to restaurants nearby. And with a scooter it is fine.
