Views were amazing
Everything else.
Customer service was appalling.
Cockroach infested room. Extremely rude and dismissive owners.
Breakfast was embarrassing.
Female owner swore at me when telling them the room was crawling with cockroaches.
The owners should take a good look at themselves because there are many other similar complaints to this one, dating back over ten years.
The worst service we have ever encountered, of anywhere we have ever stayed.

This was a fantastic hotel stay in. I asked for an upgrade and the front desk manager called his manager, and I got an incredible room that I can dream about forever with a view. That many will never see, and the waiter was unbelievably fantastic friendly the music in the dining room was hip and made it seem fun and the food was fabulous.

We liked the location of the property. The sea views were outstanding and made the stay extra special as well as the view from the breakfast area.
There property did not have a constant light in the main reception area or staircase way at night. The rooms need a bit of refurbishment as they feel quite old. Perhaps some more light in the hallways and some nice paintings would help. In the basic room I felt there should have been a bin for waste.
Apart from the elder lady working the kitchen, the majority of the staff were quite rude and unhelpful. This was noticed not just by us but by other guests of the hotel. They didn’t seem to want to help. A particular example of this was when we were checking out. There was no offer to help with our bags and then the electronic door shut my dad out of the building as soon as he checked out even though myself and our bags were still inside. I had to open the door for him as the staff weren’t willing to do so.

Location was great right by sea although getting into town lots steps to climb up with luggage and not a lot taxis
Lack of taxis and steps to get to and from hotel is struggle with luggage

We stayed 3 nights at La Pergola and enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved the woman in the restaurant who greeted us each morning and served us coffee. The front desk and restaurant staff was also very helpful and friendly.
We had a spacious corner room on the 2nd floor with a balcony looking out onto Lake Como. The view was beautiful and we enjoyed having wine and cheese on our balcony. There was plenty of room and storage space for our luggage and belongings as well as plenty of outlets. The bathroom was equipped with a hairdryer. The towel rack's warming function seemed to be disabled. Not sure if that's the case for all rooms or just ours.
Our refrigerator didn't work. We didn't really need it so it wasn't really an issue. The hotel does not have an elevator which might be challenging for people with mobility issues. This property is not ADA compliant (not uncommon in Europe, but may be helpful to know). While we loved the property, its location is on the back side of the peninsula. It's only about a 10-12 minute walk into Bellagio's city centre, but there are many steps up and down steep hills. From the ferry dock, there are many cobblestone steps up the hill. Then there are many cobblestone steps down the backside of the hill to the hotel. This could be an issue for anyone with mobility issues or if you have large suitcases. We were told we could get a taxi to the hotel, but when we arrived around 7:30 pm, there were no taxis available so we walked to the hotel. The hotel was able to call a taxi for us when we departed which was very helpful.
A nice continental breakfast was included. We ate at the hotel restaurant twice for dinner and the food was very good, albeit a little on the pricey side. Our waiter was excellent and the atmosphere and view were lovely.
Overall, we had very lovely stay!
Having hotel transfer service from the ferry would be a huge improvement.

We chose a balcony room. The view over the lake is spectacular. The hotel is just over the hill from the main part of town and in its own little cove of the lake giving us the quietness we prefer. It is hard to believe it is only listed as a two star hotel! There is even a local swan family who glide by at breakfast! Our train up north to Varenna was very late leaving Milan and with the ferry going first to Menagio before Bellagio we were well past the late check in time of 7.30 pm. The Receptionist kept in contact with us and stayed late to help us navigate the situation. The local taxi service is very unreliable and in the end the wonderful restaurant staff collected us instead!

The location was convenient, it was a 10-15 minute walk from Bellagio town center. The view from our room was amazing. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was good. Everything was wonderful, no complaints!

I like the balcony under the grapes and the view over the lake. Pretty location
The guy in reception was super nice but when my boyfriend ask for wineglasses to a women who worked there she was rude she exhale and said "mamma mia" and something more in italian like he was asking something super hard task from her? Not service minded at all. Also they didn't had any air condition so it was very hard to sleep during our two nights we stayed.

Just like the photos! Large king bed, up to date bathroom, lots of storage, safe and wardrobe. Lots of plug sockets, mini fridge & luggage rest. Right next to a part of the lake where you can go out and swim, boat rentals next door, freshly brewed coffee with breakfast. Large balcony’s with loungers (if you book that room type). The balcony has such a great view! Spent more time at the hotel as we had all we needed right there. Lovely staff and reasonably priced lunch and dinner, should you want it.
No fault of the property but very difficult to get to with luggage from the main part of the town. The location is great in terms of view and access to swim but… if you are travelling by public transport from Lecco GET THE D110 BUS! If you get the ferry you will have to walk uphill & downhill on cobblestones which is not for the weak at all! Even without luggage! If you have children also this will pose very difficult, the reviews about this don’t lie! If you are not the most fit/ don’t plan to spend much time near the hotel this isn’t for you. That being said, most of the towns surrounding Lake Como are like this… therefore it doesn’t lower the score for me, just a warning!

Room with balcony view exceeded what the images on the booking.com were. Absolutely amazing outlook onto the lake with easy accessibility to swim. 500m walk up the steps into main town. Restaurant was great and breakfast was simple but exactly what we needed. Highly recommend, we will be back!
Nothing, perfect spot.

They have very good reservation prices, very friendly staff!
The side of bellagio that the hotel is in, is very quiet far from the crowd.
All was perfect

This place was like a little piece of Heven. It was so peaceful at night, all I heard was birds outside. Totally relaxed me. It was like something you see in the movies. It just didn't feel real. I loved all the alleyways we walked through to get around. You defiantly need to be able to walk up stair. It was a little tough at times but defiantly worth it. The Staff was amazing. They help us with printing boarding passes and schedule a taxi from the hotel to take us into Lake Como. Whatever we asked for help, they were more than willing to help out.
Don't leave your doors to the balcony open when it gets dark. These little bugs fly in. Other than that, there is nothing bad to bring up.

Property is over the hill on a finger lake from the town of Bellagio and very quiet. The walk to get there requires many, many stairs up the hill and then down the stairs on the other side, but is a nice walk if healthy. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. The water front rooms are awesome.
We were unprepared on how to get to the property from the ferry landing with a roll away suitcase and several carry on’s. The path to get there is on cemented rocks and not conducive to a roll suitcase on many, many stairs uphill, and then many downhill. We did find a cab in walking to the south out of town for 20 euro’s.

The breakfast was nice and we sat overlooking the lake. The senora who waited the breakfast was so nice. The staff who cleaned the room always spoke. The man on reception was pleasant.
The location on the water was the best bit.
Air-conditioning definitely. A taxi service which goes to and from the port.
Do not go here with mobility issues. The walk to town is up and down steep cobbled steps and takes around 20 mins.
Taking the cases to and from the port was a nightmare.
We asked about a taxi as we were leaving a the woman on the desk point blank refused.

We loved the view of the lake from our balcony for the price it was well worth it.
The room was beautiful, lovely furniture and cleaning services good.
We were told on arrival (by a really nice man) that the restaurant is closed due to problems, he said there is a bar but it wasn't really clear if we could order a drink at any point and it felt like creeping around in someone's house at times. I understand the reviews saying the staff are rude - we had a nice man and a helpful lady but I will say it did feel a bit like we weren't welcome.

Beautiful location - right next to the water’s edge in a very quiet part of Bellagio. 15 minute walk to the main busy area - only a short trip by car. Large comfortable room with balcony overlooking lake. Easy parking. Staff (Marta, her mother, and the team) were kind, polite and professional. Hotel is owned and run by the family since the 1950s, and has real character. We were told the building dates back to the 1500s and used to be a monastery. Cool inside with old stone flags and stairs. We would definitely stay again. Grazie mille Marta!!
Nothing.

The location was excellent, the hotel located at the edge of the lake, the swans and ducks on the lake formed an enchanting picture. Fantastic location and surroundings .We had a corner room overlooking the lake and a large beautiful terrace covered with a beautiful vine vault
The attitude of the staff at the restaurant and at breakfast is extremely rigid, the breakfast very very poor, the basic products were missing, on a small table there were 4 slices of prosciuto, 4 slices of cheese 6 eggs, 6 yogurts, 3 croissants and a bottle of water.... for all the guests there !!! it was incredible! Nowhere in Europe have I encountered anything like this! The blonde lady in charge of organizing breakfast was extremely repulsive and uncommunicative, we felt extremely uncomfortable.Too bad for this location that could be an extraordinary point. Unfortunately the staff is the one who does not make you feel wanted there !....the staff at the restaurant and the older blonde lady at breakfast and their services...below the limit of decency. The restaurant with fixed hours of operation and fixed menus... without the possibility of serving anything in other hours ... Very strange !This place might be something wonderful, but unfortunately because of the people who manage it, it's totally inhospitable. I do not recommend accommodation here! the price/quality ratio is incorrect. The price of accommodation is far too exaggerated... it is too big in relation to what it offers. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ! You spoil your vacation !

Breakfast was mediocre. Staff were very grumpy. However the view from the hotel was spectacular
Small room. Staff was not friendly, and not helpful. Restaurant was closed, breakfast was mediocre.

Location on Lake excellent, but no other restaurants or shops close by ..
With the restaurant closed this hotel is very inconvenient there are no other places to eat other than a steep climb 150 steps and then 10 min walk into Belagio center Not at all good for after dinner walk in the dark Had we been notified sooner we could have booked another hotel. The manager did not offer any compensation . We had best room # 1 —upgrade at + 160 euros per night, nice deck facing lake Como to the east
Breakfast. Was available-- but the same coffee cake appeared every morning.. it just got smaller --morning staff was marginally pleasant. We had to depart one day early due to Florida Hurricane and flight changes. Manager could have cared less, and did not offer anything for early departure. Seemed very put-off when I needed to have her call a taxi.. The night before departure the dinner restaurant was opened--without notice to us.. but I refused to pay anymore at this place. Do not stay here.

We loved our balcony with the grapes!
The AC was not working properly although we did not report it. There was no transportation to the hotel or from it. Staff couldn’t help us with that. Restaurant only available for breakfast. A lady was sitting there having drinks with a man, she was not a guest, and I had seen her in the kitchen. I am assuming she was part of the management. I will not recommend this place to anyone.

The room with ocean view is absolutely lovely. You are literally staying "in" the Como lake, and the view is stunning. It is a short walk (10-15 minutes) up some stairs to the busier town of Bellagio. If you are somewhat in regular shape, it is not a problem to walk. The hotel is perceived as very authentic. I see other reviewers have commented on the breakfast, and that it is not much to choose between. We perceived this as the hotel being truly Italian, with a more Italian type of breakfast. They make good coffee for you instead of the coffee being filter coffee/from a machine, they serve warm croissants and sweet cookies/cakes, some cheese, ham and baguettes, as well as yoghurt and fruit. The staff is not overwhelmingly positive, as you might experience on US-hotels. Thus, they are pleasant and reliable. We would definitely stay here again. We rented a car and did not struggle with finding free parking in the street near the hotel.
The breakfast could have had more options, but as mentioned, this is more of an Italian breakfast. In the summer time, the room might get quite hot (there is a fan, not AC). We stayed here in September (20-24 degrees) then it was not a problem.

Location was superb even though it wasn’t in the heart of Bellagio, about 10-15 mins walk to main area up and then down a lot of steps. Didn’t eat at the restaurant but it was extremely busy when we returned after being out. Had superb views from room.

the balcony was stunning! it was so beautiful and the location is amazing
it is quite far from the centre of Bellagio- up a lot of steps; if you are not very physically fit I wouldn’t recommend the area
there was no aircon and it became very very hot at night
breakfast was very small and picked over
Staff weren’t very helpful and they wouldn’t store my luggage, as I had a late evening flight this meant I had to pay for luggage storage at the port which was less than ideal for a hotel!

This hotel is in a fantastic location with breathtaking views and a convenient in-house restaurant. It was a charming venue.
The air-conditioning unit in our room was disappointing. We found it very stuffy (August) and nowhere near cool enough. The room was also small. The inclusive breakfast was only very basic.

Loved the room and the view was lovely with a balcony.
Room was quite which was nice.
The bathroom could have been a little bigger and shower.
No A/C which wasn’t great as it was hot.
Check in was not easy arrived earlier and wanted to leave bags so we could do down sight seeing. No way to access the hotel and had to knock and knock and then fortunately someone answered.

Breakfast was good again staff was not very happy to serve you
for summer with almost 100 degrees fahrenheit you need to have AC units in each room.

The location is superb and the dinner was very good, with very helpful waiter.
But when we arrived, the woman at reception told us they were fully booked, before I got a chance to say we had a reservation.
I asked what time we could eat, but was told, yet again, I that they were fully booked. So I pointed out that I had booked dinner when we made the reservation, at which point we were permitted to eat there.
The breakfast was very disappointing. Had there had been a nearby cafe, we would have abandoned the hotel offering. And there was no tablecloth to cover the table, which looked dirty, but wasn't
